Thread: Jedi Revamp Phase I
I think Zilod has a point in free skill of force sensitive abillities no matter how weak there should like a little system that makes certain type of basic of power like for example when using your power will take of every attribute of the player will lose like 300 of the stats when the player becomes jedi knight the lose of damage will affect only mind, action and health when in higher like cuardian or that the ony force power will affcet mind any type of lightsaber skill will done as normal as all weapon.
I have questions simple.... and please thunder heart answer clearly.
1) Will everyone able be able too have force sensitive slot ?
2) Will we have too do quest for for the other skills of the jedi tree?
3) Will player can alter with the first character for the jedi slot?
4) Will we have two character slot?
5) Will there be a force crystal forage? ( I ask this beacuse everyone will look for crystals and pearls)
6) Will the ranks will affect your civil war ranks?
7) Can you let us put to (human, twilek, bothan jedis kinght be able to have tattos)?
8) Can you please give us more info !!

Interesting thread.
I'm quite new to SWG, so I have no idea whether anyone even cares what newbs thing. Hehe.
I think they broke the jedi system by making it something powergames could get. They did have a choice. But one that requires a bit of customer service...not one that involves just programming. They could have had their CSRs go in-game and find folks deserving of being jedi at random when the jedi slot is ready to open.
That's right...purely random accounts. Sound interesting? Then test the folks for role-playing abilities and dedication. If they don't role-play you skip them by. If they do to the CSR's satisfaction they get the opportunity to start a long series of quests that will open their FSCS. This would get you the "right" players to make jedi work. At the start of the quest they know about permadeath and accept it. (And it would be interesting if multiple CSRs had to approve the player...rather than just one server GM-type. Imagine how much fun the SOE employees would have deciding behind the scenes...totally unknown to the prospective player...whether this person gets to have a jedi slot or not.)
Now, however, it's already a bit broken. Rather than interesting characters, we have powergamers as our jedi. Which I think is sad for the game. You look at the new, interesting jedi...and for me I can't do that without thinking that he grinded 15-32 professions or bought the account on ebay. Sad, really. How to fix it? Getting rid of hologrinding is a great idea. But what to replace it with? Quests that anyone can do? Then how to limit the number of jedi? And if you "take into account" how far someone has gotten with hologrinding in the new quest system...well...that creates more problems than it solves.
I don't know about the other folks here...but I would like jedi to be rare...even if I don't get to be one. This is probably not a common sentiment. But I think that since jedis are characters of immense dramatic importance that we non-jedi account holders have as much invested in how the jedi system turns out as the folks who have opened their FSCSs. Because the existence and enjoyment we get out of jedi affects our in-game experience.
It is for this reason that I really hope they bring back permadeath. Maybe not to the extent it was previously and perhaps with the exp saves that were mentioned...but with a minimum amount of experience lost. They ought to lose a good average week's worth of character development and all items and credits at least. Maybe they should lose more if they were killed by a BH or imperial player than if they are killed by just a mob. (One might be due to linkdeath...the other involves important role-playing features.) And the more I think about it...they should only have one slot per server. This will force them to interact with trusted friends and colleagues. And that's a large part of what being a jedi is about. It would make the jedi system a fun part of the game for the non-jedis who know jedis...this person you could turn in to the authorities but don't because you like him and revere what he will do for the rebellion.
I don't know whether permadeath with only one character per server would get rid of the powergamer jedi or not. (Maybe it would if there were another rule that you couldn't have multiple accounts' characters logged in at the same time IF you are playing a jedi. Hmmm.... Of course I don't know if SOE/Lucas Arts could enforce that one.)

Didn't see any Wear that it was said word for word bothslots can become jedi "maxing the skill trees". However I did skim thought the 21 pages.
Then you're reading the wrong thread.
For those of you who didn't follow my link before, here's the thread in which TH states that the second character can be developed as a FS char into a Jedi, or a regular character... Your choice.

I want to clarify some dates and facts, as they are quite confusing up to this point:
1. After pub 9 is released, will there be more jedis granted with the current profession grinding system? Or there will be a period of no-new-Jedi until pub 10 is released?
2. When will pub 9 going to be released?
3. When is the force sensitive going to happen to our main character ? Pub 9 or Pub 10?
4. Are we going to be given two chars/server at the beginning of the new jedi quest system, or we have to lvl our jedi to padawan before we "unlock" a 2nd account that we can use to recover our original char?
I have read TH's original post over 10 times, but I cannot determin the answer to the above questions.
Thanks,
Armanie
