heres some actuall info about the old man in live
I read a post saying it was a good idea to head to the city that you started in. Also TH said the old man doesnt come in the city so i left and guess what as soon as it said you have left mosEisly the old man appeard. I talked to him got my crystal and he took of running then dissappeared. Now im waiting for the sith to come that might be tommarow so ima log for the day and take a break.
info about me: Did holo's doctor, commando, then it said BE so i did melee classes instead then i did BE then i had to do CH did that and got silentthen artisan(non-holo). So i did 14 professions total. And i have about 75 badges so i gualified under the new system. And i got the man

TH read this ..
Do you Understand that the UNLOCKERS are NOT receiving VISITS? Your Filling the Villiage with people who did not meet the Unlocking goal of the old system and the People who gave up on the on system and now your Rewarding them by letting them into the Village first? Good lord man fix this please.
I am doing everything as I normally did so are the other post Pub 9 Unlockers on Eclipse and no Old Man.

This may be of note devs:
After being visited by the old man the player city I was in "vanished" it would no longer register on my planet map, shuttleport, bases, vendors NOTHING. The city was still there, however it had vanished off the map.
This is probably a client side issue - but what do I know, I did not try logging and NO i ain't submitting a bug report.
On another note: I wasn't on either my starting planet nor near my starting city when I was visited.

Massive coincidence I'd say. It didn't work with my starting location, which is also Mos Eisley.

I say rumored based upon TC/TC2 posts. I have left the planet he spawned on after wandering around a bit. Still no Sith yet.
Good all Zilly, finally a real post with no whining. I only have a faint sense of the force ( 4 holos and 12 profs ) however it sounds like the badges is a good way to get in as well. Question is if that is true do we still get the holocredit, or do we have to wait for our Group Number before getting that? Either way is fine with me as i've waited a year to be jedi, i can wait some more
Please keep on posting success stories, it's good to hear the old man DOES exist!

I'm confused about this whole thing. Could someone fill me in on these things if they have a chance?
- What exactly "Glowy" means. I know I have to type in /checkforce, but what message am I looking for? 
- The old man.
- Why everybody seems to be flocking to theme park quests.
- 3 days?
If someone far more knowledgable then Icould kindlyanswer these questions, I'd be grateful.

The way I readTH's post is that you need to glow to get a visit and go to the village.
i.e. you need badges
If you don't glow you don't go.
The grouping is a gatekeeping mechanism to control how many people enter the village.
I did the grind, all of my halos, 12 mastered professions, Theed Librarian, Rebel Theme Park, 25 POIs including Jedi and dangerous ones and my character is only at the "Force surges within you" stage.
I suspect that the content badges are the most significant. I only did one theme park, so tonight I start the Nym and Jabba ones.
No glowing via badges, no visit from the old man.
This seems to be the biggest thing that is causing confusion. I wish a RED would post on the subject.

Glowy = Ready to receive a visit from the old man. I presume based upon what group you are in. Being that TH only listed 5 groups I believe these correspond to the 5 holos one has mastered. I was silent and so I had essentially 1 profession left, which put me in the automatic group and thus on day two like the other above me here we received visits from the old man.
The /check message is "You feel an inner glow. The Force is with you."
Themeparks seems to be one of the catalysts pushing people to glowing status - this is mostly conjecture but seems to be fairly consistent among what I have experienced with my fellow guildies in game and among the forum community.
3 days if you are already glowing and either unlocked or were silent, is my take on it.
Update on Zilly's status: No sith yet, have only visited one other planet aside from the one the old man met me on. Been in a cave, did a few missions, been playing for almost an hour - still no Sith. Waiting patiently for my buffs to wear off, and at that time I am almost positive they will launch a sneak attack! Lolz...

The old man came to visit!
I've masterd8 prof... 2 were holo's andI was glowingfor patch 10. I sat around for afewhours miles away from anything and nothing soI decided to go homecall it a night (work in the morning) and there he spawned right outside my door.
Oh yeah I dont live in a player city.
Happy at last!

I got visited too! Just got off the shuttle on dant imp outpost.
I've never done hologrinding. Mastered 7 profs and got all POI badges, nym-jabba-imp-2 warren badges. I was glowy as the patch came.
So people heads up there is no gate mechanism i think.

Just got the old man about 3 or 4 hours ago.( i was on for 4-5 hours)..no sith badies yet. I was on Dant at the warren when I came out and had just jumped on my swoop he can a runnin to me. So looks like anytime anywhere is right if people are getting him at player cities etc...but how about the sith??

(Didn't unlock prior to Pub 10)I have 64 badges total now only 61 when the old man showed up. I've done Nym's, Imp, and Jabba's theme park.
Any Geezer Seers battle out the siths yet????
