Once you reach your initial long term goal of making Jedi...a whole new world opens up for you. Speaking figuratively you open up a whole new game. Your normal character is fighting in the GCW and socializing and probably doing the corvette or heading out on a Krayt hunt. But your Jedi lives in a world filled with intrigue where a constant struggle between light and dark happens in the shadows both sides afraid (that is the trick) to reveal themselves because the galaxy trusts niether side.


Thus a new long term goal is provided for your Jedi character and your normal character can just "play" the game as it is now and as it grows.

Archfire, I just have few quarrels with this idea. It leads no where near the path of the Original story line. I think the Devs are trying to keep it as close to the Star Wars world as possible, I think there is another way. What you are talking about is further into the future, we need to wait and see what this publish willbrings to us, then we can dig further into it and develope and disect it. I still think, however; that you should keep one and only one character that you must Dedicate to the Jedi or Sith ways and teachings, then once you have maybe reached a certain point in your Jedi/Sith training- maybe Master, then you get a second character. But i still dont like the idea of players able to have two characters for reasons i have stated before. Also, we need more depth added into the regular professions, and my dark and light side idea seems to hold water. If you'veever played Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic on Xbox, thats a good example ofwhat im thinkin as far as the "Light side & Dark side" goes. OK guys have a good day, or night , depending on what region of the world your reading this from =).

Thanks for all the info, I have 2 points though I'd like some confirmation on.


First of all from what has been said it seems that after publish 10 players will still only have 1 character until they do the force sensitivity quests with that character. After this they will have a second character slot unlocked who will work the same as a normal starting character unless they then do the force sensitive quests. Most important thing here is if I want to have a second character as soon as Publish 10 comes out should I try to unlock it now or is it okay for me to stick with some professions and wait for publish 10 so that I get a second normal character at that time?


Second point is if I unlock the force sensitive slot before publish 10 but create my character after publish 10 will it be a normal character (in which case I can do the quests which hopefully will be fun) or will it be a default force sensitive padawan using the certification system from previous Jedi?


Basically what I want is to have my first character stay the same as normal but have a second character with whom I can complete the force sensitive quests (so that I have the chance to do them) without having to go through the process twice or not being able to go through the process (at least with my second character, who I want to be a Force Seeker as it were)because I unlocked in advance.

No.. NO NO and NO!

Sabers should NOT do this type or that type of damage... I see only 2 possible solutions:
1) Sabers do AL types of dmg (well, exept cold.. that seems a bit far fetched ;P)
or
2) Sabers have their OWN UNIQUE type of damage. A type of damage that has no resists (well, there is one thing according to the EU, but we don't have to go there.)

Please TH... this REALLY needs to get through to the team

The reason I dropped the hammer on Glenda was because this is our one chance to affect Development at a high level.


It has been proven that once something hits TestCenter we can affect the small outlying issues. That is the time for that. Asking the devs for something they have no real answer for is a waste of time.

First off the new system as per the development doc still allows two characters just like the current system. The difference is which one is the FS or Jedi. Just making sure we are talking about the same thing here.


Second we cannot have a group of players affecting the laws or "keeping the peace" within any MMORPG, sorry it just wont work. We need to stay realistic. Which leads me to...


Third Jedi would not be enforcing the peace...they would be hiding in pure utter terror.


And finally...my system does not hinder interaction between players (Jedi or not). It simply seperates goals and certain activities. Preserving them for both sides.


Adding roles and content for 32 professions is easier than 33. Especially if the 33rd is something as sensitive as Jedi. It makes the Jedi feel special and all the other professions (especially combat) not playing second fiddle.


One last thing to think about. Right now an entire PVP battle changes once a CM shows up. While that is great for the CM that is not good for all the other players (especially on the other side) and this is something that we should not allow Jedi to come to. We should be gods in battle..but our battle...our war...not theirs.

i would hope that the lightsabers would do a brand new type of damage, a damage type that would only be defended "measurably" by the mandalorian armor, which SHOULD only be equipped by the highest lvl of a BH. Speaking of BH's, they should have a special quest that would make them somewhat capable of dealing with a jedi. It was mentioned that Jango took out a Jedi in E 2, but soon after that jedi bit the dust, the Mace and Jango face off took place, Jango got owned......very easily i might add.

BH never looked that leet to me when dealing with Jedi. In the movies that is

I agree.


Hiding should be the point not just mindless slaughter or PVP.


Plus my system should reduce (you can never eliminate) ill will towards one another.


There will still be a difference between light and dark that fits Star Wars. Power will be harder to gain on the lightside, easier on the dark.


I think the Devs thing that perma-overt will cause the jedi to hide. Unfortunately that really isnt true...what it will really do is convince folks that Jedi is a pure PVP class. That is how it will be played...thus any improvements down the line will be focused on that.


Is that really what we want?


They should force us to want to hide...make it beneficial...and they should allow Jedi to enjoy being a Jedi with all the associated power but at the expense of no one other than ourselves. Our own personal game within the game.

the permanent overt thing......... Ben wasnt attacked on sight by the ST's in mos Eisley, and if i understood the scene fully, he didnt use the old Jedi mind trick untill they stopped the landspeeder to search for "the missing droids"


i dont like the permanent overt, i do agree with ....if you attack an oposing faction with your jedi, then you are overt to all around you untill you go hide or meditate or whatever it is the jedi would need to do to become covert, hopefully the Jedi wouldn't need to report to the likes of a lowly recruiter.


heh not that there is anything wrong with the recruiters, they serve thier respective factions well, im glad they are there. But Jedi should prolly report to mon moth, or the Princess, or someone of that stature, also you make it a little more difficult to conceal yourself once you have comitted to attacking your enemy faction........ a price to pay, if you will

did i understand correctly, Light Jedi will fight one another for rank? along with the voting?


if so , i would say the one who initialized the duel would automatically be flung down the dark path, for striving for possision and power, shame on you.

1 question when is this all going to take place?


we want a date if you could please. this publish will justify those of us who did not do the hologrind era of the game.


this update is how it should have been in the first place following the story line that came with the original star wars movies , comics , and novels.


thank you dev's for find the root of the story again.


Now I only want one thing, PUBLISH 10 !!!!!!!
