Those Imperial Guards, I know they are tall, they are human. The empire doesn't employ (pay) non-humans to work. I don't remember exactly where that is stated, but it is stated that all soldiers, officers, pilots, etc, are human. They do however have alien slaves, the wookies, noghri and mon calamarians come to mind.

It was really more a joke. In SW canon a Wookiee can't work her tail off to get command of an AT-ST, either.

I was just reading in the in testing forum about the AT-AT test that they ran and this is the only place I could find to post my thoughts on it. I'm going to start with a quote from Luke in ESB. "That armor is too strong for blasters."I know this is gonna sound kinda negative, but there is no reason why personal weapons, such as hand blasters, portable rocket launchers, flamethrowers, and katanas will actually take down an at-at walker. A thermal detonator I will believe, if thrown into the engine core of the walker, which requires you to get up to it's underbelly to do so, see Luke in ESB. The snowspeeders had to resort to steel tow cables, and they had to make 5 passes around the things to get enough cable strength to foul them up. Even the turbo laser turrets had a hard time eating up those at-at's. As I recall there were only four attacking echo base, roughly 8-12 at-st's and a whole host of imperial snow troopers. The whole thing is talking scale. personal weapons just aren't going to do a whole lot tovehicles that are in the walker scale range. Any one who has played SW second Ed, knows that.

Acutally I might give rocket launchers a bit more of a benifit of the doubt. Acid weapons would probably do the most damage, due to it disolving the parts of the walker (think of an at-at stepping out of it's foot)

BTW, I want to bring up the idea of apartments again because I just saw a nice row of apartment buildings on the border of Theed and it looked like it would be so fun to live in them. There were agro NPCs and stuff walking around. They could be like the negihborhood thieves that everybody who lives there has to deal (but have fun) with. No one ever commented on this in the first place, so what do you think?

Come on Dev's i'm sure that everyone would like to rent an appartment in major cities, nice LARGE multi-story towers, maybe make the roof accessable for social events.

come-on everyone ask for appartments, it's a sound idea, i would much rather rent appartment(s) in some major cities than buy a house and place it a fewk from the city, please Dev's just consider the idea...this would really be an amazing thing in SWG

Re: Apartments.

People have been discussing apartments in non-player cities, well, I'd like to discuss aparments in player cities.

Imagine - someone (possibly the mayor) places an 'apartment shell' deed in their city (once it reaches a minimum size). This apartment shell looks very tall from the outside (think Corellian City Hall). Once you go in, there is a small foyer type area-room with a lift at the back. The mayor may decorate this foyer as they please.

Say the Mayor gives building rights to a person, and they decide to move into the apartment. They would have an 'apartment deed' made for them by an architect (smaller/cheaper than a small house?). They then go to the building terminal in the apartment. There is the option to 'rent' an apartment in the building. Doing so, uses up that deed from your inventory.

The player then goes to the lift, selects their apartment from the radial menu (much like 'up' and 'down' are options in other lifts). And they find themselves in their shiny new apartment! I'd imagine storage size in an apartment would be less than a small house (100?) and the lot size might be less also - i.e. a place for a first time buyer

The player could lock the door to their apartment, much like people declare houses private - people then never get the option to go to their 'floor' in the radial menu.

Possiblilities include maintenance fees being less than a house, but some of it (a little like a tax) is set by the 'landlord' of the apartment block.

There could be a problem with the apartment shell owner trying to delete the apartment while the residents are still present. Or maybe the owner deletes their character. I'm not sure how this would be gotten around, but possibly some way linked to the city as a whole. Ideas?

At first I did think that the shuttle wait was stupid, but the more that I have played, the more valuable I have found that small bit of time to be. I have met a number of really cool people while waiting for a shuttle and I have also been able to ask others questions when they weren't in such a hurry.

Maybe the wait at the shuttleports should be cut down to 5 minutes, but the starport waits should always stay at 10.

Ideally your comment about the organisation of town is valid, but I think that is what will set good player cities apart from not. A good mayor will be the director of such house placement and design the city to his vision. I would never move to a town that has houses all over and mayors who are trying to recruit new players should never allow this to happen. That is their responsibility in the first place...

The addition of a number of other planets is not a bad idea, but I submit the idea of climate differences on the exsisting planets. Especially on some of the planets with mountains. Ever been to a high mountain. They all have snow. Don't allow any player cities to exsist in these regions and make these regions worth going to (quests and loot). Also, maybe some sort of HAM costs for being subjected to this type of environment for a long period of time. This will force players into really calculating what is what that they would be doing in the area, and have them get out quicker.

Just a thought,

Just to add to these already good comments, I would desperately like to see your faction rank above your head when overt. This will possibly put a bigger target on you when in PVP, but that is how it should be. Also,it would create an element of respect when overt with other players of the same faction.

another thing i'd most like to see if appartments are added, some different appartments, eg,

low cost - 100 items limit

standard 1 or 2 room appartment

medium cost - 150 items limit

2-3 rooms

high cost - 150 items limit

2-3 large rooms +balcony

premium - 200 items limit

3-4 large rooms +balcony and vehicle garage (repairs your vehicle for free/half normal costwhile your renting a room)

penthouse - 250 items limit

top floor divided into 4 parts, 3 with roof, 1 without roof (outside social space) +vehicle garage

and another thing they should all contain with SWG is currently missing...Windows!!!!!! would it really kill ya too put in some windows?!?

come on ppl lets here ur opinions on this

to get people more involved in GCW make it easier to get faction points. since you can convert your faction points for experience points why cant you do the opposite. i would love to use all the extra experience points i have for faction points. it would be a nice reward even if the ratio of faction points to experience points was very minimal say 1 faction point per 500 exp points.
