The Devs for City of Heroes thought of everything in advance to prevent lag. My PC is a piece of crap and it still runs smoothly when playing CoH! I wish the Dev's of SWG where that intelligent. OR would have atleast considered the effects of there new gimped patch!

Yea i agree with the old man issue, but not with how ppl are trying to change how holo grinders are rewarded. I mean, sure this is a roleplaying game, but we could've been roleplaying while grinding so wuts so bad about that

I agree with this idea. Or do it like that do the Corvette (Minus the need of a Ticket) that you can go to a certain location that can transport you to its on seperate area so that way you don't have to put a whole planet at risk of lag/crash/etc!

I have been in SWG since the second week after release. At that time, and until recently we were told, and it was my understanding, that the characters created normally would never become Jedi. The only Jedi would be those that were created on the special FS slot that opened up after a hidden and secret formula was completed.
With that in mind I created my characters. The character that I ended up playing the most was on a server with my friends and acquantainces of many years. This character was never meant to be a Jedi. I knew he would never be a Jedi. The Developers told us that he would never be a Jedi. The character I created was meant to be just about almost anything but a Jedi. The race I chose, and the professions that I pursued were not designed with intention ofthis character everbecoming a Jedi.
But, at the same time I, like just about everyone else playing SWG, wanted that FS slot opened, and to eventually have my own Jedi character. Star Wars=Jedi. Without Jedi you might as well be playing a game called "Generic Sci-Fi Future Game of Shootemup Without Jedi That Bears No Relationship to Star Wars".
Now patch 10 arrives, and I find out that my FS slot will only be opened once my main character has qualified as Novice Padawan, and that I have the choice of either having him become Jedi immediately, or using the FS opened slot to create a brand new character, skill him up in professions, and doanother series of long and arduousstill secret but new FS opening "quests", and eventually training this second character as Jedi.
Okay..let me get this straight. Become Jedi immediately, or spend the next year or so doing alot of what I just spent more than a year or so doingAND THENbecoming a Jedi.
Now..or another year from now?
Boy..that'sa tough choice. Become a Jedi with a character that was never meant to become a Jedi now, or start from scratch with a new character and become a Jedi after grinding out even moreprofessions, and quests, and badges. Like DUH! I really reallly really do NOT want to do all those badges again. I do NOT want to grind out professions again. I do not want to have to redo all the FS quests to open FS skill boxes and fill those skill boxes when I have already done that (or will have done that by the time my FS slot opens). Been there, Done that, Moved on. So, I will probably end up having a Jedi that I am not happy with because he was never meant to be a Jedi.
So Developers, if you are listening, please change the timing of the FS slot opening to the time when a character has fulfilled his quests and will be invited to the "village, and before he has done the FS quests to become Padawan. Then allow us the choice to determine which of the twocharacters will make that trip, and utilize those "freebies" earnedto open the skill slots. I can handle the profession grind of a new character, and I can handle doing the FS quests to become Jedi once (but not twice), if it means I end up with a Jedi that was created as one that was created to become a Jedi. All the Jedi created prior to Patch 10 had that choice. Allow us the same.

"Become a Jedi with a character that was never meant to become a Jedi now, or start from scratch with a new character and become a Jedi after grinding out even moreprofessions, "<<<<
Well I like what your saying other than this part. I myself have always envisioned my character that I've been playing since Day 1 of release to be a Jedi. I couldn't have been happier when I found out that he'll be swinging a lightsaber someday. Like I said I do understand your point of view but not everyone is in this boat I'm sure.
