Ok Sephie...


First off nice name, I love Final Fantasy VII but I think it is spelled Sephiroth.


Anywho if you look at the previous page (page 18) last post you will see what I mean.


I didnt say "REMOVE" them in the literal sense (I was in the first wave of Jedi on the servers) I said remove them in the figurative sense. There will be Jedi in the game...that is fact....there shouldnt be Jedi running around willy nilly in the game or GCW and that too is fact....my solution allows both of the above facts to co-exist to an extent.


The designers by their very admission early on intend for the GCW to be then glue which binds this together and in which the majority of players at some point hope to participate in. By giving the Jedi something else to do so to speak and making it hard for them to particpate in the GCW (under my plan they have their own war and heirarchy to worry about) it opens up a ton more possibilities.

heh yeah it was but sephiroth was already taken so i took sephoroth (its my character in the game : Bria. And i agree FFVII was the best hehe. ANNNyway i read your post on 18 again and i have a few questions about it... waht exactly do you mean gmae inside of a game... you realize anymore, and everyone will be so laggy that it will be hard to play at all. But the whole thing with good and evil jedi with the auto tef is a good idea and also making BH's stronger is a big factor.The dev's sure do have alot on their hands now, and like i said before this could very well make and or break this game. I hope it all straighrens out in the end. And one thing i hope they keep, is the fact that you use the same character to become a jedi so ppl wont wanan give up all their skills so they stay their prof... but like ive mentioned before we need more in depth profs now... and i think adding an over all good and evil aspect which would inturn create more depths in what you learn or make etc. in your prof. therfore other players will have just as much new things to discover and want to keep their character's prof. ratther than becoming a jedi. I think it would help out alot, waht do you think man?

Well Seph what I mean by game within a game is actually just that.


Okay so SWG is a game. Hey finally something we can agree on everyone


Even if there are 500 jedi on each server they will still be the minority. Because of this the game needs to be preserved for the non-Jedi. If the Jedi is the most powerful and prestigious class to function within SWG then that is a problem. Almost everyone will want to be Jedi.


So SWG the game suffers because of it (due to balance, griefing, and continuity issues). Jedi in a way suffer because it becomes a diluted class, no longer special.


So the solution is to create a game for the Jedi to play within SWG so to speak.


Since you have two slots you have one character (non-Jedi) to particpate in the GCW (or not your choice) and play SWG much like you are doing now as a non-Jedi. You basically participate in and choose you playstyle as you wish within the current parameters.


Your Jedi character on the other hand is thrust into the "Secret Force Wars" between the Jedi Remanant and the DarkSide users. It would be advanced play with constant overts from the get go with other force users. As per my plan being hidden and taking the fight to areas with no others players would be paramount. For instance imagine this....


"You are a part of the Jedi Remanant. You are walking along the thoroughfare in Theed headed to the Cantina for some relaxation. No one is the wiser that a Jedi, long thought extinct, walks among them. Then a tingling on the back of your neck...you look to your left and emerging from the medical center is a man draped in the cloak of the darkside. Your hand starts going for the saber hidden beneath your jacket but you stop yourself. The man is just standing there...and there are a lot of innocents standing around. You start to walk slowly your gaze never leaving the man. You stay to the right side of the roadway and him to the left. You pass the cantina your original destination and you come to the bridge over one of the many riverways in Theed. He slyly bows beckoning you to cross the bridge...as you cross you extend your senses to the fullest to try and sense any betrayal but there is none. Not even a Darkside user is vain enough to start a duel in the middle of Theed. You dart into the city trying to seperate yourself from him...he bolts across the bridge after you. Throughout the town you both shadow each other in alleys between buildings. You catch glimpses of each other and then you see him run into the vacated theatre hall. Knowing that he must not get away to terrorize the innocent the time has come to confront this menace.


As you enter the theatre he stands poised on the stage...the hum of the red saber blasting the silence away from the otherwise empty theatre.


You do not stop you hand this time and the familiar HSSSST sound of you saber helps focus you as you bring the green blade into position...the battle is about to commence."


Now tell me that wouldnt be fun.


Devs don't be afraid to make us "work" to have fun in this game. Pointing and shooting ends up boring...make tactics important and make Jedi in hiding important.

i wasnt sure if you were trying to just show off that you can write.. but the writing is good, the deliverence of it all... but... the idea.. i mean the idea you have to put in the game.. im gonan have to say i dont like it so much. I mean yeah you wrote all that out and it was a pretty cool scene and all. Even me as an artist could draw cool scenes to yadda yadda yadda, but this game isnt designed the way you wrote any of that out. sorry man, no offense. But hey im givin you my honest opinion, if your offended then - nothin i can do. I think the pub so far is gonna be great, BUT- it still needs work.


-Devs...if your listening, i and alot of us are very concerned that becomng a jedi will be to easy and everyone wil become one... the holocron system took too long aparently,maybe cause some were to lazy- maybe because they didnt wanan drop MBH for MArtisan, but this is a big problem. If to too many jedi's emerge then, i feel it will ruin this game. I think all the profs are in for a revamp... maybe my idea with the over all sense of good and evil where Evil TKM will have different abilities than a Good TKm, whatever, just somethign for the norm profs i feel is due... to keep players interested in the normal profs rather than setting out to become a jedi. I guess thats all i can say.

what do you eman their own game.... to kae out jedi from this game... it take alot from the overall star wars feel... I dont rmemeber seeing a Mtka or Mchef running around in star wars ... do you jarx?? Jedi's are one factor that makes star wars ... star wars

Will I be able to start a FS character on more than one server... eventually being able to RP a jedi on bloodfin and play myself as a jedi on a different server?

dont get me wrong, the new system sounds great and im really excited to see the hundreds and thousands of jedi and leais running around, but if i remember correctly wasnt it said in the jedi faq that the jedi trials are not appart of this time frame?....


hey where the hells the faq? i just went to look for the quote and now its gone...plausible deniability...good idea.

Seph you missed the point.


I am fully aware the game is nor currently designed like that...but the tools to make it that way are already in the game as we speak. Factions, Tefs, Visibility, Bounty Hunter MIssions...it is all there. All you have to do is manipulate it. Hence the term Revamp.


Even the Devs werent sure they could get the droids working like they are now. Ask CH's how much their experience has changed. Find out if Chef's are still having a hard time making money? Ask ID's how their new options are? Look back on the original combat balance threads by the devs. The idea of a revamp means just that...revamp or redesign how something works or interacts within the game.


Setting our sights low will get us little return...now is probably the only time we can really elevate our wishes to an idealistic level.

is there a set on or about date when 9 is going live? in developement says daeth watch is coming out between 9 and 10 but in testing says that deathwatch is coming out may 25th, any answers?

There will be more Force Discipline skills available than a player will have skill points to be able to train in. This will lead to a variety of Jedi characters as some may choose to be more offensive or more defensive or even choose to take more utilitarian abilities. We have allowed it so players may un-train these skills if they wish to choose others.




Great Idea! I think this is the same way Bounty Hunters should be (re)done.

Yeah you are right Archfire, i agree this sounds good. I just want to get it straight though so i completley understand where your comin from. You suggest that there should be new Dark-Light-BH factions within the game that you must belong to if you so choose to become a jedi or BH, so pretty much your only interaction will be with other Jedi and BH.. and not so much reg prof. players... if i understand correctly that sounds pretty cool actually. Something about it though. Im not sure.. something else needs to be added. hmmm let me think (assuming i understand you correctly). let me know. And also let me knwo what you think about this wholething im proposing about adding more depth to the regular professions. Until next time.

I like the idea of a light and dark side to all professions, it does keep everyone interested in the game. There is but one thing that i think should be chencged, as does everyone else. This game is gunna try to be as real to the movies as possible... lets face it, that just isn't possible, not with jedi an available profession. If it was true to the movies, a master jedi would have no problem taking out pretty much anyone. OK, lets look back at the whole Movie series to date, and see how many jedi were killed.. Episode 1: Qui-Gon and Maul.... both to jedi, Episode 2:There was the huge arena scene where they died, of course there were a million enemies, and like 100 jedi, no real significant jedi died. Episode 4-6: Obi wan to vader, yoda just died, and vader and palp to eachother... now i am no expert, but i can see BH's had no real significant Jedi kills, it was all Jedi to Sith and vice-versa... and when did u ever see jedi have a real hard time fending off, all they had to do was force push, deflect shots, what-not, and since this game can't have that kind of control, it can't be what they want it to be. And lets see, if it were also supposed to be true to the movies, Jedi could kill anything in 1 hit, the only reason a jedi didn't kill anything in one hit is because they just severed an arm. Jedi would end up destroying this game if they made it true to movies. So they have two options here, make it REALLY hard to become a jedi, make it real tough, like the corellian corvette, not made for nubs at all, or just take them out, i like the idea about making it INCREDIBLY hard to do it, but make them a lil more to movie standards, rather than making the jedi "just another profession that takes a little more to be." Have just one REALLY hard quest, u have to do alone, or with like one or 2 more people, thats it, and all 3 of them could get the FSCS. That way there isn't any way for people to kill the game by hologrinding etc. but there aren't a whole lot of jedi roaming around, and make it like a "one shot deal" or like if u do it and fail, u have like a couple weeks before u can try again... As it is currently, u should need to have mastered all professions to get the Quest andyou should also need to find some jedi or sith out in the middle of no where, on a planet inhabited by really tough creatures u NEED a group to kill, and make him surrounded, like make a den of these creatures ever 100 meters or so, with a no-fly-zone that way people aren't sneaking in or just shooting right by, they fight to get it. And maybe when u finish the "quest" or whatever u want to call it, it then tells u what to master, cut holo's out for good, and make the professions u have to master, somewhat true to the profession, if u wanna us 1-handed sabres, fencer, 2-handed sabres, pikeman, that way, u can SEE how your jedi will develop, and as always, u can go back and change this from one to the other, like make it free of stat points for a jedi to use, or if they need to use some stat points they have left over (i don't relaly know how jedi stat points work, if they have extra after becoming a master or not)... That way, newbs are becoming jedi... and u don't have to "master architect" to become a jedi.... i mean seriously, when did u ever see Vader say, "u know what... today.... i am gunna build a large tatooine house" he didn't he wouldn't waste the time, the only things a jedi or sith built was temples or the death star, both significant to the game and movies. Thats is my 2 cents if anyone has suggestioons or questions about this, just post them i will see, and of course.... there will be the Negative Nancy's who will never be satisfied with any suggestions on this board u can post your negative thoughts as well.... and instead of being negative all the time, do something constructive, like att ideas, instead of shooting all of them down, this is a major community game, we need to work together to make it better And i know this doesn't go here... but i just HAVE to say it... when space battles come around ADD HOTH!!!!!! it was THE BEST battle, make poeple able to drive AT-AT and AT-ST's, be troopers, snow speeders, the whole 9 yards, that battle has to be in it, and if not that battle, add the planet, i would love to live there and love it forever, only leave to go big-game hunting, meet poeple elsewhere, or to do misisons... wll thats all i got, now time for all the negative feedback D:
