Ok can I ask a Q or two here? First of let me say I like the new developments very much it feels like you guys are working round the clock to bring us good stuff right now and it is much appreciated.
However I have a minor concern about the new base system, namely will there be a planetary cap for these things? Right now it sounds like there will be an awful lot of PvE bases out there (especially if 2 come free with every PvP base), are you planing on implementing a lifetime or cap on thse bases to prevent planets becoming swamped with them? Just asking cause these sound like they are going to be seriously popular.
Next up will planetary control apply to all planets? I mean there are fictional political and logistical reasons for some planets to remain allied to one faction specifically. I'd hate to see Naboo or Tatooine become overtly rebel or visa versawith Correlia, after all how annoyed is the Emperor going to be if his retreat becomes rebel teritory?!Basically I guess I'm talking about SW canon here, and I've the feeling that one or two planets at least should remain base camps for a faction so they do have a safe haven to retreat to.
Hope that sounds like good feed back, pretty minor itches to scratch really, but I hope it's more useful thanmy just drooling over the great ideas you keep posting lol.
Gift.
3 to start, more later

Are you saying that all the PVP NPC defenses will be inside? Meaning nothing outside? No more ST patrols, or ATST's? What about Turrets? Who can shoot at Turrets at a PVP base?
No more pve defenses for pvp bases.
Tiggs, that answer is open to interpretation. It could mean:
1. There are defenses outside of the bases such as turrets and NPC defenders, but that PvE players just can't attack them.
2. There are no defenses on the outside of the base and since PvE players can't enter a PvP base, they can't attack the defenses.
Based on responses from the GCW correspodent, I assume that correct interpretation is # 2.If #2 is correct, are there turrets on the inside of the PvP bases, like the one in the Warren? I hope the answer is yes. Being able to donate turrets to help defend a base was always a neat thing in my opinion. Its true they never were much of a defense, because they could be destoyed easily when the PC defenders weren't around, but it wouldn't have to be that way with the new bases. Please allow turrets as a component of defense.
Second, I would much rather therebe outside defenses that are only subject to attack by PvPenabled players so there there is a fight to get to the door as well as to get to the terminals once you are inside.
Even if you don't take my suggestions, any clarification would be greatly appreciated.
Also your answer on the bases exploding when destroyed was a bit flipant. It seems like that is a reasonable request. Please consider implementing it.
Thanks.

Nope, just a little love.
A small group got together and brainstormed with the goal of making a smallish change under the hood that would have a big, positive effect.

Looks great. A few suggestions and Questions.
1) PvE bases should have the nasty NPC defending it not the PvP bases. PvP bases should be defended by Players, not players and tough NPC's IMHO.
2) What about Scanners and Mine Fields. Will they work?
3) Are Jedi going to be taken out of the GCW? I know alot of people who will come back to the game and PvP if this is done but all these changes will make no difference to the normal player who actually wants to PvP in the GCW but can not because it is now over run by Jedi.
4) What about instead of Player Placed PvE bases. You put 4 Large PvE Base/Dungeons per planet that can be flipped for control of the quadrant per planet. Players can go in and try and take the bases and change to their faction with tasks needing to be done from top to bottom. Once you get to the bottom Command center and perform the last part needed the Base changes to your faction. This is where the Nasty NPC's should be. Cause really I don't see any reason to place a PvE base.

2. Scanners are being removed and mine fields are to be determined.
3. Jedi can still pvp in the GCW
4. Not right now
Wow I got a response to my post.
Jedi can still PvP in the GCW is a pretty broad statement. Does not say how............................
Hopefully they have got wiser people now than in the past and realize that it should not and never should have been against normal classes.
Jedi should be fighting eachother in their own battle, Light vs. Dark, for dominance of the Galaxy. Not in the GCW. They should be behind the scenes. Hopefully they are now smart enough to realize this, but we shal see.
If Jedi are left in the normal GCW there will be no need for other professions because eventually everyone will have a Jedi, and it will just be Jedi wars, not Star Wars.
But if they make the Jedi War seperate then everyone can still have a Jedi and fight in Both the GCW and the "Secret War" between the Light Jedi and the Dark Jedi and have their Additional Character slot to fight in the GCW.
Balance, there has to be balance for the game to be enjoyable for everyone.
That place has been open for about a month now, I've been down inside the place several times in the past couple of weeks. Well worth the 1.7k xp one can pull from the place and an interesting setup for anGCW static base.

I'm assuming you meant outside. Faction NPC's will be INSIDE PvP bases, correct? And since you have to be PvP-Enabled to enter a PvP base, PvE players thus cannot attack the PvP defenses. Is that what you were trying to say, Tiggs?

Base VulnerabilityPVP bases will have a 3 hour vulnerability window but this window will only occur every 2 days. These bases will also register on the planetary map.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Does this also include turrets ? Or will they stay the primary target that could be taken out by someone stepping by during nightime ?
I think Tiggs said no more PvE defenses, which some have concluded means no more turrets for PvP bases. Not sure if this is accurate, since it would be a REAL waste to put turrets on PvE bases. Perhaps you're right, and turrets are only vulnerable when the base is vulnerable. But then turrets would be the only target for PvP-Disabled players. It's a complicated issue...

Hmm I dont like the idea that people can attack your PVE base while not PvP enabled and destroy it, while you have to sit back not able to be anything.
PvP bases will spawn with very nasty NPCs inside...it won't be a cake walk.

Ok Tiggs, that answers my questions about external NPC's, yet not Turrets. So does your answer mean Turrets will be PVP, or they wont be placed at PVP bases? Turrets are fun, they are nice to donate, the biggest problem was that any PVE person could come by at any time and kill them.
