What will happen to "pre-nerf" probots already in our datapad... will those be upgraded to the new models?

The Attack Speed has gone up, along with the damage. The Probots currently on Live have been the result of a Listing Bug, since the Probot was Nerfed. The Post-Nerf Probots have been DL10 all along and not the DL16 that they listed as.

Of course, the primary issue is that CL 10 anything is absolutely useless and worthless. Go take a level 20+ mission and see how long a CL 10 anything lasts. Sure, the Probot last ~ 6 seconds longer, but the reality is CL 10 = useless. Because anything you're fighting that you might actually want to go through the hassal of calling a Probot or a CL 10 out to help you with Is going to kill you even if you do call it.


You tell us you play the game Thunderheart, but I don't believe you do. Because I can't see anyway you can make some of these statements unless you don't play the game.

lol.. well, wait til most people find they are no longer capable of soloing anything above the level of a huurton pup or (maaaaybe) a dune bantha (as long as it doesn't bring a friend). As an MCH I'll probably get by (if I stay) but this will force people to group. And as the stats of that poll on here showed, 2/3 of people prefer to solo. I wonder if SWG still has 150,000 users (half the original) left to leave?


I used to really love this game. And I said so a lot And *every* *single* *time* I have explained why a change would make things less fun for me as a customer, I have realised how little my opinion matters.


Having Thunderheart (against whom I have no grudge.. I feel sorry for the malice some people show towards him) tell us "your opinion matters" when it clearly doesn't (you know why they don't have a poll saying "fix bugs and borked professions or nerf?", don't you?) is no recompense.

I am a master CH, and any non Master looking forward to these changes is a dolt. Even as a master they look subscription-endangering to me, despite the moderation that Thunderheart *appears* to have made.


Of course, anyone who has read the "how to manage game players" powerpoint presentation by this very game's designer and producer know that they will always do this by announcing horrendous changes up front then being "persuaded" to make the changes so they are just unpleasant and mildly crippling. And as a bonus TH looks like our hero. Whereas really he is just doing his job and following orders.

Worse yet is if u Calculate DPS ( Damage Per Second) the current probots do more damage.


I have one that does 54-56 damage right now and a speed of 1.56 Making my DPS about 34.2 - 36



Now with the new stuff at 71-86 and a speed of 2.42 the DPS is only 29.6 - 35.5



Also if u take accuracy into effect probots are less accute in the upcoming patch so not only do they hit softer but they also dont hit as much. I could do further statistics but you can clearly see that the end result would be in even lower DPS for the newer models than the models we can currently make. On the bright side how ever my 40% Medium armor probot was able to beat a CL 10 Carrian Spat today with 10 health left to spare =0) Hehe kinda ironic that it dont be able to beat the same spat after the next publish



So..... The improvement actually makes probots WORSE.....wow didnt think that could happen...

If you're getting the CL 16 from examination instead of by comparison, then you're forgetting that TH said in his latest post to the DE forums that the CL 16 doesn't refer to combat abilities alone. It refers to the entire package of abilities. So, if you add a crafting station module to the droid, then the CL is going to go up, but the droid isn't any stronger. Add in a medical module and the CL goes up again, but still the combat abilities haven't changed. A droid'd CL isn't the same as a creature's CL, because a droid's takes into account non-combat modules. I mean, a Wrix is a CL15 pet, and they have a HAM of about 1500, and they do far more damage than Probots do. So a Probot that shows up as CL 16 is quite obviously inferior to the Wrix, which means that the Probot's Combat-CL is less than 15.

Yeah, I think we need to just trust Thunderheart here that the Probot will be made better...


CL really isn't the end all be all right now anyway and who knows what these new mysterious changes will do in the future? I mean, I have a Cowardly Gurreck (don't we all) that I tamed and eventually started using just to decrease my death rate because of decay. Why? everybody said it was one of the best starter pets.


I also have a Pouncing Jax that I tamed for fun. Never figured I'd use him in combat cause he's 1700 HAM, CL12. Not as good as the big cat right? I finally did use him though and you know what? After running an equal amount of identical faction missions with both, the Jax turned out to survive just as good or better! mainly because of his high resists to energy (75%) and decent kenetic (45%). Best part is he does a dizzy attack that when teamed up with suppression fire ends the fight pretty fast.


So my point being, if they raise the Probot's HAM and give them a special attack, then they would much better even if they are just CL10....


I'm cautiously optimistic


(Waiting for the 1 star just cause I talked about using pets again... )

I am also a master CH and I do not like the upcoming changes/nerf at all.


I do feel that the best pet Robot pet a non Droid Engineer can get should be a little better then the best animal pet a non Creature Handlercan get. This is Star Wars and there were a lot more robots in the movies then pets.


Essentially I dont mind at all if robots are better then nonCH pets at the low end. Ido mind amassive CH nerf disguised as a creature balancing change.

i just think that they should either make a rebel faction pet that measures up to the atst
and maybe there could be a faction skill tree and when you go up you gain acess to additionl faction pets like the creature handler skill mod
i realy dont pvp that much and every thing else but i think every one should have a chance at mounts nomatter what at least untill vehicials come out i havent played in a while but i realy wat to see the new changes and evry thing
i also hope soe makes sure to make the rebel faction pet better so it will be a good galactic civil war
also give the poor DE's some new schematic s fer battle droids i mean the probot in the movies were not meant fer combat they were used for reconasince i mean come on make each class as fun as the next
and aslo SOE get on the ball your losing alot of fans think before you act
