With the new system we have a max of 4 pearls/crystals in our sabers. Now they decay and the saber doesnt. In the old system we could atleast repair the sabers to extend their life, now we cant. I actually see the new system as a big step in the wrong direction.
I played on TC2 and my crystals wore out just as fast as my saber did on live. Crystals drop more regularly now, but we are still completely dependent on the economy. We shouldnt be at all. We HAVE to pay for buffs, and we HAVE to buy crystals. This is unfair to us. I have never read a book or seen a movie where a jedi pays 500k for a crystal... have you TH?
Why couldnt we get instance Crystal Caves for jedi only? or quest based systems?
Why do you have to buy your crystals? Tuskens,NS,and such really aint that hard to kill.

In the last four days, I've killed approximately 500 pirates on Lok. Some are canyon corsairs, some are 'marooned pirates', some are mercenaries.
I got -one- crystal. It was a color crystal, not a damage crystal, and dropped from a marooned pirate engineer. Dropped today, after killing approximately 100 pirates of various flavors.
Drop rates are vastly, vastly too low.

Simply Dismal to be blunt.
300+ NS Initiates = 0
100+ NS Rangers = 1 color crystal
40+ NS Spellweavers = 0
500+ Tuskens (warlords, chiefs mainly targeted) = 0
100+ Corsair and Piratetypes on Lok = 0
200+ Kungas = 0
So I killed nearly 1,000 of the targeted mobs over a 3 day testing period and looted ONE COLOR CRYSTAL and ZERO damage crystals (which was what I was trying for).

100 low level NPC's= 0 crystals, 1 swoop helm, 1 heavy axe, and that's it.

I hesitate to even mention this but... one way of reducing the farming situation (something that I despise in all MMORGs) is to raise the drop rate (a little) but have a check for whether or not the player is a Jedi or not. If they are not then the best they could get is a basic crystal (this would allow them to build a lightsaber when they enable their force slot). This could be done for all types of loot drops (a real stretch I know) or even just have a multiplier... if you can use the drop it happens, if not there is a 5% chance that it happens.

Looted 1 Damage crystal off the first NS rancor tamer we killed. ( killed 3 more, and nothing )
Killed Protectors, Spellweavers and outcasts and such aslo, with no drops.

Drop rate is still way too low. I've cleared the NS camp (the underground one) about 3 times now and not a single crystal. I think that's about 80 to 100 NS.

I have hunted NS for the past month, killing approx. 100 NS per day. Out of the 1000's of NS I have killed not 1 has dropped a crystal. I have had my wife hunting with me as well. She has not had 1 crystal drop. We have killed every type of NS that exists in copious quantities to no avail. I do beleive the drop rate should improve.

Well, I disagree with the entire system.... If anything is going to decay it needs to be the saber itself (not the crystals - which should be removeable)
Every book Ive read about jedi, says they make there own, and the crystals are shaped thru use of the force, so why cant Jedi make crystals? Then damage and color options would vary by the level of the jedi....
Drop rates are still to low though for a loot based system. With these drop rates crystals will still be sold for large amounts of cash, but I dont like the loot system....
Seems to me that jedi should be able to convert a resource (make it a rare one) to a crystal based on the level of jedi he is.... so High level jedi can make any color, and high damage crystals....
The loot system isnt bad, if a creation system was implemented to allow jedi who just want to grind (shame we have to).
maybe its a compromise, but maybe jedi can create low-mid range crystals, and looted ones have a higher range of damage or soem unique colors?

Im a non jedi but have been playing an MBH on TC2 since TC1 went down.. in that time i got no crystals but the jedi i was hunting with last night(helped him find a Ancient Bull Rancor lair on dathomir for his knight quest) said he found a number of crystals in the Spider Clan cave and seemed very happy on the drop rate. i believe that Jedi can get a special type of /forage skill but only for crystals and they can only be found in caves such on dantooine and the rate should be very low but with a medium ql crystal as a reward that would make the game realistic but as someone said before there should not be so many jedis already anyways also..about camping and becoming visible.i think that if ANYONE sees a jedi use ANY force power or their LS they should get an automatic TEF besides with the new revamp no ranged player can hit a jedi..and they can still take 2-3 TKM's
