No, it's not pointless. It gives Rebels a TEF easily. Just sit there and wait. You guys/gals will even have NPC ST's backing you up if you decide to attack. Geez, I think Imperials are whining more about us doing it, then Rebels were whining about not being able to do it.

pyaa try being a wookiiee and getting an AT ST lets be reasonable very few imps can afford an at st let alone get rank witch we also know will be major portion in they space expansion,,,guess you rebs just wanna rule the skys i say leave the novas in stop the faction farming all i am doing is buying at sts with your blood but am tired of having to do it cause i never get a chance to enjoy the game and go fishing on talus:.

Doh we cant kill them dude .... If a covert Imperial attacked a Rebel commando we would get a flag and every covert rebel and thier uncle would be killing us !!!! On the other hand rebels can come to Naboo primarilyKaedra and kill storm troopers all day without even getting a TEF ...... I dont think its fair and I think every rebel doing it should be banned for exploiting bugs .......... Hell give us a fast spawn rebel base where I can kill rebel mobs for regular faction for 6 months so we can get ours just like you got yours ...........

Well, the best thing would be to enhance the current troopers.
As MasterNerfSlayer said, it just isn't 'StarWarsy', I've never seen Luke or any other character soloing THAT many stormtroopers.

what about the fact that just by having ATST out you can pull all the highest and best paying missions and then solo them for tons of credits?

This is not the point that was being made...

If moenia had 250 rebel troopers running around in it. I could kill 100 or so of them in the time it takes 1 overt rebel to arrive and attack me...

lets see... at 15 fp a piece x 100 = 1500 fp ... i die to rebel once and leave until he leaves net loss 40 fp

I come back and rinse and repeat.... much of the time I can do this non stop for hours (until buffs wear out)

average gain per hour 6000- 7000 fp ... x 3.5 = 21000fp with a possible lose of 40fp if by chance a overt rebel arrived on scene and actually killed me. I also get to loot and possible get things like forcecrystals and the like for little to no danger

so in three days I plant my brand new (self paid for) HQ. wow

now that is fair is it not?

The At-st I will admit is used to bump up imperial payouts on missions but only because it is useless for anything else

-check latest droid stats... rebels outnumber imperials now literally 2 to 1 a smaller precentage are overt at anyone time ... but if you do the math there is usually 1.5 overt rebels to every overt imperial - so in the best case fights ie: a few of us spot a group of rebels faction farming we attack and are outnumbered rebel overts. sure we have the npc stormtroopers helping out... but as you find them so easy to kill it is not even an issue. The overt rebels kill us and then continue on faction farming the st's - or move so that we have a 50/50 chance of finding them within 40 mins and fighting em again.

The complaint Rebels had with the Nova Troopers is not about the faction farming... which I agree needed to be curbed. The problem was for those of us who got trapped in espa with them camping the cloning center and not allowing us to flee. The other problem was that it made doing the Rebel corvette missions impossible to get since the Novas were camping the NPC that gets the whole ball rolling.
