Thread: About the new FONT

One of those 'things happen' issues I guess. Considering the million and one variables that are involved, some unexpected glitches are bound to happen that cannot be planned for so they hit the safety version when something showed up - less flames than if text glitched in game. Or it was something that was known about but due to some way in which it works it was felt better to set the entire text system toa particularvalue while they implement changes - maybe this is the default development text we are seeing.

I think people don't like the idea they are in the dark about what is going on is all.

I have mixed feelings. I actually like the new font. (Let the flames begin.) Any chance we can have the option to choose fonts in the future?

I don't have a problem with the new font myself. It's nice being able to read messages like ""You are ready to heal more wounds" that show up outside of thie dialog box for once.

This would be nice to make an option to disable the ² button in chat mode. Coz we're never use it, but that's the default summoning radial menu button.

Man, with all the whining on the boards I'd expected a really horrible, unreadable font. Coming home I hardly notice a difference.. certainly not something to get your panties in a knot about.

What kind of monitors are you whiners using for God's sake?

It's good to know its only temporary.
I came here to ask what elderly gentleman using 640x480 resolution on a 31" monitor suggested this change, but what you posted makes sense.

But as it stands reading text in chat bubbles is very very difficult.
I eagerly anticipiate it being 'fixed' again.

I don't see the problem. The font seemed fine to me at 1024x768 on a 19" screen. Is it smaller screens all having the problem or something?

You can :

Open the Option menu

Go to Controls

Choose Keymap

Choose ui

Scroll to Summon radial menu and use clear bind to erase it and rebind to choose a new shortcut if needed.

Why don't they just implement something in the LaunchPad which would ask the user if they wish to switch to a font which supports non-English characters?? It could be sorta like the Test Center or File Scan buttons.

You know with all this carry on about the fonts, you'd never know there were other issues. This font issue actually makes it difficult for European players to play this game. ALL of the european players are affected by this. So I see it as a little bit more important than the usual my profession sucks, this profession needs to be nerfed arguments.

Yes SOE could do a lot of things better. If they were given CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, instead of being told they suck, maybe they would listen to more people.
