hey Thunderheart, any chance having a font selector in the options? would be nice to choose from the fonts on our systems or at least a short list of swg-provided fonts if the former is too difficult.

Is it just me or was there more than one font on test? The font on the menus and the titles looks different than the font in the chat box. In any event I thought the new fonts were more interesting that the old fonts, and more readable. *shrug* I like tiny fonts anyway.

I'm actually interested on what new font they will be coming out. Hopefully not just another variation of Arial / Tahoma / Veranda. Maybe something very Star-Warsy.

Is this because the European Launch surprised you and caught unprepared and without suitable fonts?

I mean, seriously.... does the left hand know what the right hand is doing? Why weren't the new fonts done BEFORE the Euro Launch?

I appreciate the fact that this font is temporary, but wasn't the European launch a planned event? I noticed the font change on Test Center the other night immediately when I logged in as did friends I play with -- we all hated it.

I would have thought that with the European launch being planned that the ability to set the base font, size, style (bold, italics, etc.), and color would be definable via an in game option or at least an out of game config file tweak with a default based on locale. Why wasn't this done instead of changing the font and realizing players don't like it?

Clearly it's easy to scold the evil Devs who are bent on finding new ways of irritating players (yes, I'm joking), but I'm more interested in what is being done to prevent future incidents like this from happening.

What was wrong with the old font? And I agree, I'd much rather see things get fixed than see a new font go into the game . . . .

Since we're at fonts, why not allow us to switch to Aurekbesh as ingame font? For the supergeeks!

Here's a basic technique that will make you guys heros in the eyes of the players...

TELL US AHEAD OF TIME.

All this rants and raves would have been eliminated HAD we been told before it happened. You tell people, you get less flames. You let us FIND OUT ON OUR OWN, and things will get heated.

This also applies to all the stealth nerfs and fixes you guys do in the patches.

What is the reasoning behind the font change not being released at the same time as this supposedly upcoming new font control? C'mon, admit it, you guys went "oops!" on another one, despite the complaints in the TC forum.

That's not right. Why not just wait until both patches were ready to go at the same time and avoid continued complaints from your customers? I just don't get it...

All this complaining just over a font.

Like Rhensis said, would it be possible to add a font selector so that wayeveryone is happy? Well, almost everyone. Some people are only happy when they whine
