I'm sorry folks, but you who are complaining about jedi, S U C K! PEOPLE! This is Star Wars. Everyone wants Jedi, and so do I. Jedi are the baddest freaking fighting machines this side of the galaxy. DID you not see the movies; about 30 jedi took out almost 500 droids. THis is Star Wars. THe jedi can block blast, can melee the best, and the sabers can cut throw solid walls of steel. Your lucky a jedi can't hit you once and yoru hand falls off or something. Jedis are the best part of this game. If your not a Jedi and you bring one down, then you should feel extra super special, as that is quite an accomplishment. This is war. A jedi in a guild defending a base, is freakin awesome, and should unify the oppisition to amass an overwhelming strike party. This is war. And it's Star Wars. Jedi rock, their ability to PvP is right on, and if it was any different, they wouldn't be able to call it Star Wars. Now would they? You people who devote your lifes to this need to graduate High School and realize this is a game and that Jedi are being handled perfectly by this team. I am a programmer, and I have nothing but respect for these guys. There game engine is nothing but remarkable. Their amount of dedication to listening to snot nosed 16 year old dorks is remarkable. And Jedi rock, if you can't hang perhaps you should go join the rest of the dork squad over in Everquest.
Ok...I don't want to start a flaming war with this post...but I feel the need to state this:
Do not say "Everyone wants Jedi". That is a totally bogus and ignorant statement.
I know numerous people that want absolutely NO parts of Jedi. And even know a lot of people that feel that Jedi do not belong in this game. I am a member of BOTH of those.
Jedi is absolutely NOT why I bought this game.
Blast it, the game is set during a period of time in the Star Wars Universe that Jedi are very close to extinction. The Jedi Council is gone. The only Jedi left are Yoda, and a few that escaped the purge by either fleeing out beyond the Outer Rim, or were on a mission just before the Clone Wars, or just plain hiding out.
So stating that Everyone wants Jedi is the kind of statement that will get you flamed.
This was not meant as a flame...I am saying it to correct your statement. Yes...a lot of people want Jedi...but absolutely NOT everyone.
Down with Jedi.
I propose a boycott.
Even if I am the only one doing it.
I have several crystals. I plan on never letting 1 jedi have them. It may be pointless...But at least I will feel better. They will either get destroyed or end up on display in my house.
Jedi don't belong in this game, and the fact that SOE has destroyed the continuity makes me angry.
I love this game, and I didn't buy it to become a Jedi. SOE should not have caved in and let Jedi be an available profession.
And to those that think any Star Wars game without Jedi can't be popular......here are some examples:
X-Wing
Tie Fighter
X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter
X-Wing Alliance
These are all Lucas Arts titles and were very popular, Jedi were mentioned in there, but you couldn't be one. Granted, these are Flight Sims with a story line...but they are ALL in the Star Wars Franchise.
Because of my distaste of Jedi being brought into this game, I propose that anyone that feels the same, do not help Jedi by selling them the crystals and other components to make lightsabers or any other Jedi paraphenalia.
If GarVa sees this post...and deletes it. I don't care. It won't change my feelings that Jedi DO NOT BELONG HERE....at least not yet.
I've been in here since, as you can see by my info to the right....a LONG time. I have never cancelled my account. I have been a constant player. I opened 1 holocron, because I was curious. That was back in December. Never bothered with another one.
Sees he made 7 posts & wonders if he is a trolling SOE programmer
Point is I love this game & has so much potential...there just needs to be a better way of reporting bugs & getting them fixed.../bug is a joke

I don't think in all the history of MMOs there has been a publish or patch that caused a massive enough exidus or players to makes Devs worry about it...I'm sure it will all work out in the end. The Devs want to make a fun game that people want to play. Most of us joined because this is Star Wars. Most of us, at one time or anouther, would like to be a jedi, or have fun with one. Thats what this publish, and the next one, are aimed at. Opening the door so that people can enjoy that dream. The combat rebalance is going to be aimed at the rest of the game. Allowing people to be what they want to be and be useful, unique, and interesting. So someone can be a BH, go out with a group of buddies, and have fun hunting in the wilds. So that people will actually want to be a pikeman or carbineer because they will help you kill a rancor. This also will hopefully create a more Star Wars feel for the game, as that is what the game is suposed to be.Of course last on the list was the GCW... Once again, aimed at not only opening content to us all, no matter what proffesions we have chosen, but also allowing us to feel more like we are part of the Star Wars universe. And then JLS, because what would Star Wars be without starships?Face it guys, the Devs are doing the best they can. If you think you can do a better job... Well, learn all you can about coding, work on afew other projects, get together with a bunch of other people, get backed by a major company, licensed by Lucas Arts or whatever, then put the whole thing together while the company behind you is pushing you to put out a finished project by a certain date that is only getting closer... Well, once that is out of the way all you have to do is anticipate the way people will use and abuse your code, and how it will affect the millions of other little bits and pieces of the game that have already been put inside the servers. And do not forget the thousands of nagging individuals who are constantly pointing out little faults, big faults, and shouting at you for being to slow and messing things up when you move to fast.
Age of shadows UO expansion, everyone i knew quit from it.
