The only good news I've heard is more clothes and hairstyles. Give us some flirty styles. More short hair for guys! You've got more ugly long hair then short. Short is better on males! Long is better on female. =p

Give us more hair colors to choose from too. I wanted to make my hair red and be like Alias when I wasa Commando.

And then more furniture is good news but bad. More static furniture that is in no way customizable and will only take up space?

See... I've never decorated my home because I can't. The item limit makes it impossible. For some people to even finish a single room. If I can't decorate the whole home or at least the most used part... I'm not doing it. Unlike the "developers" I prefer to not cut cornors. I didn't do it on UO and won't here either. Also, because of lots, and the item limit, I need to use those 150/250 room for resources and components. On UO I was able to decorate my home from top to bottom and have a ton of space left over for storage. Heck! I was even able to decorate the walls and tear them down and create a home all my own.

In the next several publishes, you should also expect to see new art going in with each profession revamp. The first pass will be for Image Designers, but you can also expect new dance animations, clothing, armor, weapons (lots of weapons!), furniture, droids, mounts, some great new bunkers and caves, and some very special surprises coming as well.

whew I was beginning to worry that the combat proffessions wouldn't get any attention. Please be sure to spend as much time as possible on those and continue to make prommises to the entertainers (all the profs in it) that aren't kept such as comunication.

Excellent question...it's one of a handful of visual gaffes that mar what is otherwise a tour de force of art in this game. I'm finally able to aim this at one of the people responsible...but you guys have done a fantastic job. The thing that most impresses me about SWG is the ambient light during the different times of the day. The light just after the sun comes on on Corellia or Naboo is like the light of an actual morning. There is an ineffable quality to daylight at certain times of the day, and you guys have done a simply fantastic job of capturing it in SWG. While I hate the murkiness of Dathomir as a player, I appreciate it as a very important component of the atmosphere, the feeling, of Dath. Likewise, the desert landscapes of Lok, Endor, and above all Tattoine are splendidly lit and give you a real sense of being there. I remember someone stopping a hunt of squill in beta just to go up on top of the hill to "watch the suns set". In how many games do you do that? I often just slow down, stop bopping meatlumps, to appreciate the sunrise or watch the skies slowly transition from sunset to dusk to night.

There is no denying that SWG is gorgeous. No way to deny it. There are a lot of problems with it, but art is not one of them. Clipping can be annoying, especially when a dewback materializes right on top of you, but once you move the camera out or move the dewback away, it's fantastic.

I look forward to new POIs and stuff like the space expansion.

Do they Test you guys for Pot and stuff? If not, use it man, it can help with Designing and stuff. Great work all in all. Kept this stoner playing the game since day one. Bumpy road but the artwork is UBER-Awesome. Later dude thanks for the info.

P.S. if they do test use the Piss test thing - its easier then carrying your Perants or friendsurine in the container for the transfer. **edit** they might not be clean either.. just my 2 cents ... hehe.

Thanks for the info Jake. I have a question though.

Have you been working on the art for the AT-AT's. Last i heard was there was a problem with them moving over slopes (they didnt look right). Have the art team addressed this and do you have any idea when we might see AT-AT's in game?

Great work guys, keep it up. I think the communication between devs and players has really improved over the last 2 months.

Why Image Designer Revamp (unnecceasary) instead of the much-needed Smuggler Revamp is my question.

Because smugglers can STILL make a profit from spices and slices, whereas career image designers such as me havn't seen more than a handful of customers in weeks. I used to have to hide my tag in coronet or be flooded with /tells for ID work. Now... well... it's almost empty.

Personally, and some may not agree, this letter seems to be really good news for me and many others. And even in my complete joy to here this news i find it necesary to throw more pressure on the Dev team .

1st off I would REALLY like to see that archs could customize at least the color of furniture.

Posed Maniquens(sp?), which i saw i think in the Publish 7 forum. Which would help display furniture and just look cool.

And one more thing that doesnt exactly have to do with this but im gonna say anyway. In the friday feature they say that entertainer droids will just do special effects. I think they should also get instrument mods. So that the poor old lonely musician can create a feeling of a whole band in a deserted cantina.

I cant wait to see the starship and other upcoming pics. This game has been really fun and the only time I dont like it is when I read combat threads about balancing and stuff. Keep up the good work

Image Designers should have the ability to redecorate rooms as well in my estimation (obviously the architects still have to make everything, but the IDs could recolour everything and what have you, give a room a nice uniform style) or could perhaps create extra flamboyant parts of certain architect-made furniture.

Art comments: SWG looks fantastic, it's a beautiful game for sure, but there are still a few glitches in there that kind of arse things up;

1: Dancing looks extremely gay (and I mean that in a non-homophobic sense), the animations are terrible, please God mocap some new ones (it would, for example, be great if male and female dancers could team up in pairs and so perform dances they couldn't do on their own, currently the guys are at a disadvantage because everyone's looking at the girlies).

2: There's something screwy going on with Level of Detail in terms of scenery, you can notice this on Talus, trees on the horizon fade to nothing then fade back into trees when you get closer to them.

3: Would be nice to see alternate styles for weapons, vehicles and what have you, just implemented as alternate meshes, nothing tricky, but would give things a more unique feel.

4: The guy or guys (or girls) who made the Boba Fett model need a raise, I don't care what they're on, that model (and textures) kicks ass.

Keep it up

(ex video games artist here btw )

There are exactly 4 long styles, the ponytail, the three long styles. That's it. and I, for one, always wear my hair long IRL, the only reason Jeram's hair is short is the long hairstyles suck. If you don't like long hair, too freakin bad, but I'm sick of everyone's 'Guys gotta shave their head' attitudes, apparently including the art team. Half the hairstyles for females are actually closer to male styles, or the current popular 'unisex' styles, but are only available for females. Guys got screwed on the ID department, and it stinks. Plain and simple.

No I don't have a freakin sig. Just make something up and pretend it's here man. woman. umm...Whatever.
