Thread: Friday Feature Errata: PvP Insurance Yes, 1% decay, not gone.

The 1% decay is unreasonable in PvP. The paying insurance is simply peanuts.
The GCW forum was alive with hope, which I had not seen in a significant amount of time. People were actively looking forward to getting back into the GCW with Covert shutdowns removed but more importantly PvP decay gone.
They were fickle over the contraband until we worked it out and TH's announcement this morning on the new Contraband settings made it appear the Devs were about to hit a home run on GCW issues for this publish...
Unfortunately the last minute change that decay is remaining in turned that possible home run into a foul ball, People are already swearing off PvP again since Decay was not removed as we were told. To be honest I dare not post it, but Now contraband TEFs and shuttle runs are not looking like much fun or good gaming...
To be honest it is looking like alot of rebels will be getting griefed by suffering item decay post contraband scans via the game system.
We simply MUST get this addressed prior to live, simply put Something must be done to make sure Decay is gone was promised.
SOLUTIONS, please pick and implement 1:
1) Firstly IF the system can tell I died a PvP death so it will not force me to re get my insurance, well that means the system DOES know the difference between PvE and PvP death, So use what ever thing is figuring out the insurance issue to figure out the decay issue.
Alternatives ARE:
2) If you die as an OVERT you suffer no item decay, (the rebellion or empire compensates Overtly decalred supporters by keeping items in top shape.) This would actually encourage people to go OVERT, encourage GCW participation, and conversely discourage group TEF abuse (TEF users still suffer decay).
3) IF your an Overt for 10 FP you can buy factional insurance, so your next death while OVERT has no item decay (same reasons as stated above)
4) IF your death results in you losing faction points, something the system can and does track prior to you cloning, then you suffer no item Decay.
5) Make ALL insured deaths have 0% decay (PvP and PvE) for the time being. IF you cannot correctly code it to prevent the suffering of the players, then remove it until you can properly code it. Only clothes would not be decaying, and to be frank this did not effect tailors the first half year the game was out, and to be honest it does not effect tailors now since people can still wear disabled clothes. Putting off effective use of clothing decay of course will upset some tailors, but it is not like your taking something from them, they do not have it yet, and remeber this is TEMPORARY, theres no reason to punish the PvP people because you cannot code it just right now.
I'll go for this.
6) Remove Decay completely, armor decays via weapon damage, Have clothing decay via weapon damage as well, for every "hit" the clothing loses 1 condition, so basically a shirt of 1000/1000 condition and be shot 1000 times before being disabled. Armor already decays via damage taken in combat, Weapons decay based off useage and do not death decay at all. Make the death penalty massive wounds, that the players time not irreplacable items and give doctors more business.
And this if they can handle it...
7) Remove decay completely, we had no death penalty for 6 months, Citywarn was removed because of player griefing, the item decay completely disrupts GCW participation and with people getting trapped in thier own cities clone centers allows players to be repeatedly killed and suffer item decay in thier own cities, unless they log off. Remove decay completely until you guys can fix it.
8) Tie decay of items to the TEF Flag, IF you get a TEF flag and die with a TEF type of flag (even overts get the flag) active, no item decay.
PLEASE DO SOMETHING ANYTHING TO SAVE PVP AND THE GCW THIS PUBLISH!!!!!!

I am not defending the fact that the 1% will remain.. heck i was looking foward to do some PvP!!! I am as upset as you about the fact that, because it ruin my plan to conquer the galaxy ![]()
I am just upset about the tipical whining attitude of these mmorpg board.
That situation only show that something must be done about that 1%. Treatening to quit because of it or treatening TH job wont do anything, sorry to burst your bubble.¸<
Stop acting like child that didnt had their lollypop when they where supposed to. Its not because its on a message board that you cant behave like an adult and liek a 9 y old spoiled brat.

I have defended the devs on many occasions. But I can't this time because...
A: Zero communication--obviously.
B: They are the ones creating the problem by keeping silent all day. They deserve it.
C: Unfortunately, I am a paying customer and I expect an atleast half-a$$ed product that I am paying for. This isn't half-a$$ed. This is no-a$$ed.

Complaining is one thing.. treathening is another..... the choice of one or another usually show the level of maturity of someone

According to you maybe.
I don't know, but telling them that I am going to quit paying for this product if they don't provide the service I am paying for makes a pretty good statement...

As a paying customer, it is perfectly within my right for me to say that I will no longer pay for a service unless changes are made. It happens all the time in the real world.
We've been talking about this a lot on Bria, and here is some possible solutions to Decay and Group tef problems
Overt as a solution??
