Thread: Friday Feature Errata... Part 2...
- Death causes random 1%-3% decay on clothes - unavoidable and uninsurable. (Let's be realistic here, 1% is a token amountand isn't helping the tailors at all.)
- Give master tailors a schematic for a one-use seam ripping tool (make it expensive) that lets them recover skill tapes from decayed clothing.
Theadvantages:
- More demand for tailored goods
- We have a way to save ouruber lootsfrom the ravages of decay
- Tailors have a new and extremely valuable service to offer: recovering skill tapes
Thank you
Fishtank, it comes down to simply, how many time sinks are you willing to put up with to just get down to the real thing of playing PvP in the GCW, which is really the main content. If the main objective is to get players to get involved in the GCW, do we really want to keep adding more and more obsticles to accomplish this? Doesn't this sound counterproductive? It does to me...
Some people only play a couple hours a night, do we want to tell them that they have to spend the first half hour or so in mindless grinding just so they can get to the real content for their last hour or so? Doesn't this sound a bit silly to you? It does to me...

He is an absolute MORON kiddie.
I shrug it off like I do to all the mouthy kids in games who think they need a little attention because mommy and daddy ignore them at home.
I think Jedi running around in composite armor is the most retarded looking thing I have ever seen.
The devs should be slapped in the face for coming up with this insane holocron profession grinding system for unlocking jedi.
If its so tuff to be a jedi like all the kiddies claim then why cant we all get a shot at it?
Man, what a better way to kill continuity than seeing kids with retarded names.
A couple hints: Proper period use and caps lock. Since you work full time, maybe you should take some night courses on sentence structure and keyboard use?
I am not a shrink, but you can easily see some issues here. 1) You must have some issue with kids, or your parents, or your age, or something, cuz you keep talking bad about these "kiddies". 2) You seem to have some issue with mentally handicapped people, I'm sure they do not appreciate your insults 3) You seem to have a lot of issues with the way devs handled jedi, and probably that you can't achieve it.
You were that mad that you went around and read my old posts? It must be teenage angst at its finest.
Yeah, you kiddies run around these forums shouting, ranting, threatening, and insulting the devs at every chance you get and YOU WONDER WHY THEY DONT DO ANYTHING!
I think 1 out of 50 posts is actually a well thought constructive comment/suggestion that a dev would actually want to see (even ones made by young adults, imagine that!), but the rest are the same ol' "Gimme my way or I'm leaving and your pay check will suffer HAR HAR!".
Do you honestly think that you kiddie ranters leaving will hurt their paycheck? Do you honestly think your rants will cause a major uprising and END THIS GAME with a mass exodus? Do you think your pathetic threats even matter if so wouldn't all these things be fixed already?
Get real.

I think it's silly for clothing to decay on death. Why should reappearing in a cloning facility in any way affect what you're wearing? I don't get it. I also don't get why crafting tools and camp kits would decay in this manner. It makes no sense.
I think instead, the death decay penalty should be removed. If the Devs really want to help Tailors, they'd make clothing decay naturally. Say, 2% a day. Thus, every 50 days, you'd have to buy a new piece of clothing to replace the one just crumbled to dust. If the item has been bio-enhanced, make it decay 1% a day. Thus, every 100 days, you'd have to buy a replacement.
The advantage: Decay would affect everybody, not just those who die. The benfit to Tailors would be much greater than it is now, though certainly more people would be affected by it. But replacing a piece of clothing once every 50 days is much more reasonable than replacing a piece of clothing every few days if you're heavily into PvP.
Remove the secondary decay on Armor. It's uncalled for.
Implement a wounds-based cloning system. Currently, you only come back with wounds if you didn't store a clone. Change it such that you also come back with wounds if you don't insure. Say, 20% wounds for not storing a clone, and another 40% wounds for not insuring. Apply the average of your wounds to Battle Fatigue, as well. This could make Medics and Entertainers useful again, and is, in my opinion, more of a death penalty than decay.
Im pretty new to the game, so there are many things I still dont fully understand about it!
But ive been reading over the boards trying to pick up helpful tips, then I got to this one and thought id browse through it.

Whoever it was that said that ^^ is bang on! The level of criticism and abuse targetted at the devs is a disgrace! Many of the posts Ive read on this topic are well thought out arguments put across in the right way, yet many are alsoimmature commentsthat quite frankly wont get you anywhere!Bottom line.......Yes their responsible for making sure the game runs smoothly and bugs are ironed out etc etc, but your not helping their motivation by constantly slagging them off! I must add that if so many of you are so obviously disgruntled with the game and feel nothing is being done to improve it THEN LEAVE its really that simple. I find it astonishing that so many people slag the devs off yet continue to play for their $15 a month!
I have to say personally I think the games a great achievement and ive enjoyed every minute

You are naive yourself, and obviously haven't really paid attention to high-dollar MMORPGS that haven't amounted to much because of things like this. There are several magazines and websites that have nominated this game as the most disappointing game of the year. It's people like you who sit around and don't voice their opinions and believe nothing they say will make a difference.

Heh, you answered your own statement.
"you are pretty new to the game"
There are things that STILL haven't been fixed since release, and you think people are suppose to always be constructive after months of this? They have made pretty good steps in the right direction when it comes to repairing some things, but it seems like the most important things are always ignored.
For some it is easy to walk away and stop paying the $15. But most people hang on to the hope that this game will be fixed and become the best MMORPG of this era.
How about you give the Droid Engineer profession a try. lol Nah, by the time you master it I am sure it will be fixed. It's only going on 7-8 months now...
It's a shame when Profession Correspondents pour out their heart and soul to the devs to get things fixed..yet are constantly ignored.

Personally I think your arguements are pointless. I mean why don't you stick your nose up their butt and get it over all ready? I personally am not a teenager but a 32 year old man. Not only that I work in the Production field as well as design. I know what is suppose to happen and how it is suppose to happen.
So you're in software production and design yet you have the time to hang around here? What are you working on? A new version of Notepad? Or could it be minesweeper?
When you create a project as large as this you create a spec, and though you never fully follow the spec you have a direction. Obviously this is something the devs and producers of SOE have forgotten, and if this type of thing happened in the real world enviroment and not the gaming industry they would find themselves out of a job.
I honestly doubt you even have an inkling as to how large the spec of something like a mmorpg takes. The gaming industry, last time I checked, is a major force in industry. You think residential customers are using accounting software for 6 hours every night, every day, every week?
You posts are rediculous and you yourself give absolutely no input on anything besides your obvious love affair with these people. So why don't you save it.
Because, I'm not stomping, ranting, and threatening them makes me have a "love affair" with them? Are you sure your 32? Ugh, and it's "ridiculous".
The truth of the matter is they promised a PvP overt no decay. That is in some form a written contract. Then at the last moment, they decided not to, or just couldn't figure out how to I have no idea. But before you make such a idiotic generalization why don't you take a second and think to yourself if it is going to make you sound like an uneducated moron.
It is not a written contract. Not even close. Are you sure you're a 32 year old in software production? You seem a bit worked up about this for someone of your caliber.
Next.
