This is my first, and very likely last post since the removal of the Discussion Forum. This format is very hard to use, requires that I read countless pages of random messages with no topic or title, and otherwise just wastes my time.


At least in the Discussion forums I could read threads I cared about; unlike this one.


I'm going back to playing the game, I'm sure there are enough people here to keep a single, muddled, wandering, offtopic thread alive for the week. I'll come back and post when its more productive.

I didn't think I had too many issues, til I started reading the ones here. Here are my top 10:


1. Buff + Server Crash bug. The server is able to remember that we were buffed after a crash, but able to give us the stat bonus. Which means we are at base stats unable to buff until the next server reset or death.


2. Vehicle auto-store.


3. I really don't know what can be done about this, but Dantooine is overpopulated. It has become the favorite planet of every character and it'd be really interesting to see the % of overall connected characters and what planet has the largest population. I truly believe it even rivals Corellia.


4. Difficult quests to get uber items like Krayt Pearls, and Force Crystals... as opposed to AFK mass killing of NPCs, and Krayt farming. How about you have to find one randomly placed NPC on the planet that knows someone who sends you to 4-5 randomly placed Krayts before you get the right one which he said should drop the pearl.


5. Character titles. Once you have chosen a title, it will always be there when you log in, whether you have turned it off or not. Pretty **edit** annoying, as it seems there is no null setting for character titlesthat are saved.


6. How hard to fix is this sitting warp thing that has existed since beta? Please for the love of all things Star Wars do not make me slide around any more. I realize it's low priority, but it really is annoying to see this bug existing for more than 7 months. (maybe longer, but that's as much as I remember of it)


7. How about some user customizable chat settings. For example, popular IRC scripts include flood protection and what not. So if someone is spams something once per second I can automatically /addignore them. This would make going to coronet more enjoyable.


8. /badname needs to work properly. I see so many names that are ridiculous. Ulik M'balzak was the worst.


9. I love the artisan theme park idea, and the Faction Points for orders the empire places for weapons, or clothing or armor. Perhaps the mission terminal can even give the schematic. What a great idea, to whoever that was.


10. Please get things right before more content, this means *you* SOE managers!

Misc. Items ...



  • You dismount from vehicle and land 100m away from the vehicle. If you all known (and you do) where the vehicle is parked, how about drop our character there? As opposed to 100m away from the ride?

  • You have to close extra copies of Compose New Message when you write onein-game email.

  • If the server crashes, you loose your buff, but the server believes you still have a buff (timer bug?). (Only fix is to have someone kill / rez you.)

  • Doctors (or Master Medics) need to be able to cure fire DOT attacks. Also, Doctors should have AOE Disease Cures and AOE Poison Cures.

  • You get a TEF to your own faction bug... I believe its caused by CMs doing area heals.

  • No on-screen notification when your character becomes Overt after taking a flight somewhere or after logging into the game. Remind us that we are now officially "overt" with an on-screen notification.

2) Please post here from time to time. I thought increased communication meant there would bemore talking between players and devs, not less.

Major fixes needed.

RIS HELM- FREAKIN Disigners need to work, its been 4 weeks, and still cant use it.
BH INV- pls let out droids work some time soon.
Carbineer specials, make them work, its not that hard.

This post contains my ramblings about houses...


First, I think that there needs to be a /movefurniture up and /movefurniture down command. Everyone is doing something like this in rooms that have stairs by dropping the item on the stair, then moving it, but what if the room does not have stairs... what if the whole house does not have stairs? Does that mean that small houses shouldn't have the "power" to be able to have a desk lamp that is actually on the desk top instead of on the floor under it? That a small house can't have nice stuff on the walls? Add the command and people will have more fun and creativity in their houses. (=more fun)


Next, think of how messy your real house would be if you didn't have any dressers, armoires, book shelves and the like. Everything wouldn't fit in your house and it would look like a tornado passed through it! Well, that's what it is like for the houses in SWG. Some people have went to putting stuff in backpacks and lining the walls with backpacks, but that is not very nice looking nor very realistic! What we need is for armoires, bookshelves, toolchests, chests and the like to actually be containers. I would also like to go one step further by saying that, like items in an equipped backpack on a person, items in these "containers" should NOT count toward the house limit! You can limit the spaces in the furniture to reasonable amounts, but you should make them appropriate. Like a bookshelf could have a capacity of like 10 items or so. A large toolchest should hold more than a small toolchest.


Last, guild halls need to have larger house capacities. Some of these are huge! One has 3 or 4 levels to it. Even if I did not put any storage of crafting or personal items in the house, it does not have a sufficient capacity to decorate it to the level that a hall should be. (at least not every room) A building should have enough capacity to put stuff in it to not only make it look like it is a real place that people are acutally living in and using, but also look lived in! (like plates on the table, lamps on desks, stuffed bantha on bed, etc.)


Thanks for reading my ideas and let me know what you think. If they want SWG to be about roleplaying, then we need the tools and abilities to do it. (small details make or break the atmosphere of the game)

What's up with the fusion reactors. All they seem to be is a very expensive mineral miner that can only mine radioactives! (my mineral miner can harvest the same resourses) And there are so many times that my fusion reactor can't harvest any energy! That doesn't seem right or realistic AT ALL! Fusion power is supposed to be clean, reliable power. (the harvesters certainly cost enought)


IMHO, fusion reactors should work something like this: Fusion Ion Reactors should harvest only one resource, Fusion Power. This resourse should never change, always be at 50%, and available everywhere! This way, it is more realistic, behaves in a fashion one would expect of a fusion reactor, and would make it worth the high price of the harvester.


To add a little more to it, you could make radioactive material part of the crafting resourses needed to make the reactor deed (nuclear subs don't need to be "refueled" with radioactive material for the entire life of the submarine!)... (harder and not necessary IMHO) you could make it so that the reactor needed to be feed radioactives like maintenance. If you do this, though, make sure that it burns through the radioactive supply VERY slowly. These reactors don't need a lot of "fuel"

This isn't improved communication this is containment. It seems they think we the customers, that pay their salaries, are no better than a virus. WE HAVE BEEN QUARANTINED. How is this thread that is all over the map in any way shape or form an improvement in the communication? It seems to me it would be easier to discuss issues in threads that are specifically targeted at one issue. This is just another poorly thought out move on your part, one of many we have witnessed since the games release. If you want to improve communication start by telling us the truth like, " We could care less about your feedback this is our show and we are going to run it as we see fit. We could care less about making the game enjoyable to play as long as we keep a few Star Wars junkies hooked on grinding, sapping them for $15 a month." The continually deception and half-truths must end like the one about how you were going to be working extra hard after the holidays. Where are the patches? It seems like the vacation is continuing, do the holidays for devs last till after the Super Bowl? My patience is growing extremely thin anymore nonsense and I can take my 2 accounts and go elsewhere, there are other games out there. This game is starting to feel like a second job, somehow you have managed to sap all the fun out of it. You really should change the name of this thread, like someone said before you have to have devs here for this to be a roundtable discussion not just TH popping in once in a while responding to random posts then disappearing again. Oh and TH how many times do we have to post our profession issues for you before we see any improvements made?

I have to agree with the above post. There is just as much random threads in this one topic as there were topics in the old Discussion Forum. However, on the old Discussion Forum you could bypass what you didn't care to read and move onto another subject matter. How anyone could narrow anything down in this is ridiculous. I'm sure as heck not going to wade through 15 pages of much looking for some meat. As this game has progressed decisions that the Devs have put into affect just keep me discumbobulated and trying to figure out what logic they are applying...



I'm not impressed and really wonder about the future of this game that I've invested many hours upon hours on...

I hear this is THE place to get a dev's attention on some complaints, but reading some of the threads it seems that maybe it isn't. As I am still hopefull that it may attract some random dev's attention...here goes.

Here's a few things I have personaly had problems with this week alone:

Vehicles
While out surveying the entire galaxy for doc crafting supplies, getting off my speeder the radial menu stays on enter vehicle the first 3 times i click on it. Trying to get back on it stays on exit. Only slighty annoying, but it is. /mount and /dismount tells me that I'm too far away most of the time, even if I'm standing in the speeder...how's that work? Every 4 to 10 times i get off the speeder it stores itself or it does it when I walk away to sample. That really sucks if I have no tents on me, running to town takes ages in some places. Good thing I kept some scout or I'd really be hating life.

Droids
The ticket droid at the starport must be retarded. I can click on it and it tells me how long I have to wait because I lagged in the starport...again. That's a whole other bucket of worms. Anyway, it seems to go like this...radial, use ticket,radial, use ticket,radial, use ticket,radial, use ticket, give up use ticket from inventory,use ticket from inventory,
use ticket from inventory,catch shuttle. Very often it crashes in transit and I end up back where I started less 1 ticket and out the cost of it, sometimes missing inventory items. Usually the last thing I picked up before I got on the shuttle, really bad if it's 50k of high quality resourse that I'm selling to someone. Makes them and me mad.
My other droid issue is my medical droid and my r5 unit both eat batteries like they are going out of style. I may get 5 - 10 mins use out of one before it wants more. This is a real pain as I am a doctor mostly doing buffs and healing in the field. Or, give a battery to a droid, store it, pull it out...low power...**edit**?
Storage
Is it possible to get more storage space for a crafting profession? I know that all of us have a shortage even with backpacks. It's really hard to make stuff it you don't have enuf room in your inventory to hold the components as you make them.
Starports
Lag central, no matter how cool your computer is or how much ram you have.
Wondering why we can't have starports in player cities over a certain size?
Fishing
Needs more bigger, better, uglier, lots of meat giving fish. I wanna see a fish the size of a kimo, they were in the movies, it looks like fun. Pull it on shore and have to shoot it to filet it or something. Liven it up a bit, it's so dull trying to get a few hundred filets together for a BE that nobody wants to do it. Does the pole quality make the slighest difference in this at all? I can't tell.

And last but certainly not least. Less grinding to get a jedi slot and more fun. It makes it so tedious to try and get a FS character that most of the people i know have given up and use holos for house decor.

Any response from devs would be appreciated.

It's called trying to make a point. There is so little communication going on between the devs and the players that it seems only the squeakiest wheels get any attention at all. We are now squeaking.
