Thread: Friday Feature March 19th Wookiee Armor Concept Art
Hook, Hook, Hook, Hook, Hook, Hook!
2.5m meter tall Lost Boys wandering the streets of Bestine, just what I wanted.
The driving force behind publishes between now and this summer should not be "new and exciting stuff" it should be "fixing old and broken" Save "Newer, better, badder!" for the Space Expansion please, otherwise I just feel ill when you try to distract me with pretty lights...
Oh and everyone quit being such jerks, lol.
Guy that drew this must be proud of it, walks in this thread and sees how horrible you make it out to be? Kinda nasty guys.
REALY good art.
Hey, I got an original one:
This looks like the friggen Scarecrow in the Wizard of OZ........haha......get it..............scarecrow.....wizard of oz.....
I hang my head in disgust at most peoples comments, but even more at my fellow wookiees. Most of the immature, critical posts I see coming from wookiees are from members who have not made one effort in the quest for wookiee armor. So SHADDUP! You should have made your point know prior to this post, instead of raising your ugly head when something comes out that u dissapprove of.
I am not thrilled with the look of the armor, but like the post says....its just concept art. Can u grasp the concept of the word 'concept'?? It means literally: A general idea derived or inferred from specific instances or occurrences.
This is just the beginning my fellow wookiees........Don't Bite the Hand of the person who feeds you!!!
When this armor goes live, most of the wookiees you see complaining will be walking around in there armor with a big smile on there face. Of course their smile is all you will be able to see through that helmet
.......sorry had to get one poke in.

Looking at the armor again I've seen people say it looks like the Scarecrow from "Wizard of Oz". It does somewhat. Though part of that is the ackward stance the model has.
Reminds me of the Michellin Man somewhat. The helmet reminds me of the bad guys from Krull. I'm also reminded of the movie "Caveman" and the shell armor in the ending fight scene for some reason.
From the website where the friday feature is "Wookiees often build weapons and armor using natural resources from the world around them".
They do? Does that mean the bowcaster is made of wood? Steel is a natural resource. Plastic is made from natural resources. Natural resources doesn't mean just wood, straw, etc.
Now if this is the equivelant to Bone Armor then ok. Bone armor looks rather primitive so there is no reason Wookiee Bone Armor would be different.
I'm hoping that they don't continue with the "Wookiees are primitives" myth with the other armors.
As I've said before. Using natural resouces for armor makes sense for Kashyyyk since it's under blockade. But we aren't on Kashyyyk nor would other armorsmiths be familar with that type of armor crafting. Armorsmiths would use materials they are familar with and have available to them. That means using the same material they use on composite they would use for a composite type of suit for Wookiees. It may be a different style, but it would be of the same material. Same would go for Tantel, RIS, Ubese, etc. Same material scaled to fit the Wookiee, but with a different style to it.
The blurb does seem to indicate that they're aware that wookiees can make high tech stuff as well and that we'll be seeing it coming in in the future.
I'd like to see the in-game models for this pretty soon
.. and yes, it is a pretty cool piece of artwork, I'm just not 100% sure I like the design.
You know Arasett some of us wookies did not fight for wookiee armor because we did not want it in the game. I personally like to run around naked with a backpack just like in the movies. If the weather is bad I will put on my long wookie smock just to keep my fur dry.
I play a wookiee because I do not want to worry about armor. I remember a human buddy telling me that he bought a set of composite armor for 250k and then could not put it on. That is just stupid.
