To find out what group you are in type the following in game: /che
It will result in telling you how attuned to the force you are
i.e. 1.faint sense of the force----2 badges left
2.surging with the force-----1 badge left
3. glowing with the force----3 days to wait for shadowey figure
For a confirmed guide on this check the test server forums, there is a post there that tells you the confirmed badges you must have.

well so far ive not heard that neones been visited by the old man which leaves me to believe he is either a) bugged or b) they havent activated him as the publish was not rdy and there now feeding us this bull**edit** of 1-3 days as thats how long they reckon it will take to fix everything and get it working, secondly this stupid gating system to stop lag if they had better servers there wouldnt be so much of a lag problem god we pay em enough a month for them to provide us with a decent service...how bout using the money and also communicating with the people that play the game is also rather important

2 comments on this. I logged in yesterday and got the POI, 4 events & prof badge ---> I barely sense something different. so I go for a corvette run and after getting the badge, I was glowing. I did not went throught the intermediate levels.
Also, what TH is not mentionning is if there is a difference between glowing right after restart, or glowing after few actions

That's on the Test Center. In case you haven't noticed, the devs, geniuses that they are, changed the rules when patch 10 went live. Now we have NO IDEA who's in what group. Because Blunderheart refuses to clarify, we don't know that glowiness is the qualification, and even if it is whether the hologrinders get in all the groups before us. And even THEY'RE not being visited? 1-3 days means 1-3 days. Not in 3 days. Why was nobody visited at all on the 1st day?

when do we get get a official response to what these skills do as well as what they apply to?ex.does ranged speed and accuracy apply to a flamethrower?what does luck,crafting mastery do for you.hope you see this way down here th

i have all 40 some POI badges, even the 2 hidden ones, both warren badges, 16 master profession badges, and i'm still only at strong fs rating, and i dunno what else to do to get glowing, and i'm not going to do the corevette with the armor holo in effect.

Assuming the test center people are right. and it takes 3 days. taking into account TH's questions I must assume that this is number based.
Ok im using numbers pulled from my butt, so dont quoe me on this lol
100 people waiting for visit on test center = 1 - 3 days
1000 people awaiting a visit on your server = 1 - 30 days
The reason I believe the question TH asked
again assuming test cntr people are correct you have 3 missions after visit 1 to enter 1 inside 1 to leave.
If a visit is made and it takes you 3 hous to complete these missions and leave with FS skills.
It apears to me we could be waiting a very long time even if you are in group 1 as i am.
Hopefully I am wrong but "i have a strange feeling about this"

I have both a SWG and CoH account. I was all geeked about the change to jedi since I have been in since (that fateful) day one. I've done 23 professions and when there were rumors of them adding the amount of careers needed to unlock, I stopped playing till they changed the way jedi was attained. I've done numerous things, but not the themeparks, mostly because they were boring and seemed not well thought out or enjoyable. But I decided to give em a try since hey, I guess it is required (for now) to get my jedi slot. After traveling forever, doing the Nym mission. The lairs took 2 minutes to complete and the travel 8 mins (lol), I finished it quickly. NO CHANGE IN FORCE. Then on to the Rebel themepark. Unbuffed/sliced armor/flame4/lightning4 and these jokers still hit me pretty hard. Well did leia's mission, and said forget this. Logged into the City of Heroes took a cleansing deep breath and actually started to enjoy myself.
I keep checking in with SWG hoping for improvement. Thunderhearts last few posts and the posts of other CSRs in the chat says this to me "We are not ready with this patch, we have very little content to add, we will change things at will to serve our misdeeds, we will not notify you and WE ARE NOT SORRY ABOUT IT ONE BIT!

I realize I'm kind of late, but I read the thread and didn't see this mentioned, so here's my question...
I'm not a grinder and I've only mastered a few professions that I loved and played for a long time. I'm interested in persuing my FS slot through the new method. How do I start? Do I have to master professions to get a visit and unlock the village? Can I just go there and start on novice quests? I don't mind how long it takes, I just want to know if mastering professions is still the only path to Jedi or is it completely quest based now and I can just do those.

No, forget that. The goat would do a better job. If you're not up to the task of answering simple questions to SOE's paying customers then you should quit and make room for somebody who is compitent.
This is a little harsh don't ya think...he's been in-undated with questions/problems/moans, give the guy a break, and be patient!...Jeez, the way of the jedi is the way of PEACE and PATIENCE!....think about it.
I, just like you, would like answers to all these questions and by abusing thunderheart you are not going to speed the process up. The promise of peoples jedi was to be fullfilled in publish 10, where in that statement does it say the jedi would appear on day one of publish 10?? or day two, etc...
Your clearly all excited about the prospect of owning a jedi and taking that journey to see our like minded force friends and I'm sure it'll happen soon enough, believe me the second I get "glowing", I'll probably grow impatient as well...hehe
