not only is the program rescanning all the files but is downloading the patch every time in log out and back in. I have loged more than once to see if this is the case and every time it does the update.

1) Full scan on startup - this sucks a bunch of time

2) (not new but related to 1) if I logoff and am at the character slection screen for a while (say 30 minutes) I cannot reconnect to the game - I have to shut down and restart (and now go throguh the full scan),,, and...

3) (not new but related to 2 sort of) If I log into the game but do not launch (still at the screen doing the character scan) and then log into the forums it comes up with me not being registered.


It seems that at around publish 8 the forum loging server and the game login server are somehow connected. So the point #3 from above it is somehow logging me out of the game server when I log into the message boards. At about the same time the 15 minute timeout on the forums as introduced... which is probably causing #2 above.


#2 is merly annoying - but couple it with #1 and it sucks badly.


4) As a low level Jedi (0/0/4/0 lightsaber) I was getting no XP on corllia killing vynocks )light blue con) no feedback and no XP. Logged out and still no XP. I should either get 1 XP OR get a message saying that what I cam killing is to low level.

What they said and this started this EVENING not with the patch. I logged in 2-3 times during the day
without problem. Now this evening it does the full scan every time. (I thought it was Windows Media player
9 which I downloaded between the login that worked fine and the ones later that now do the full scan.

im going to say this again.. Weapon/armor, specially the weapon switch delay is the DUMBEST thing ever to enter this game..(except 1000 tick CM poisons). The delay makes combat, specially PvP even more laggy than itused too beand alsoveryfrustraiting. If this is an attempt to nerf the stupid dot lances etc..the devs put in the game a while back, its not the way too do it! i think most pikemen wouldnt mind dot weapons completely removed from the game if the devs just fixed the damn proffesion so it didnt need insane looted weapons to be competative combat.


I for one have had enough of thesedumbarse ideas, im out.. maybe ill be back in a few months too see if the devs have gotten their **edit** together...

The devs stated that the delay was primarily to prevent Jedi from being able to switch between Armor/Robes really fast when using force powers to negate the ability to basically wear armor and use force powers while only being vulnerable for two seconds, imo it should only apply to changing armor not weapons as a quick fix. Unless it was actually intended as a way to curtail using DoT weapons in the same manner.

On Wanderhome server:


1) Placing a creature/vehicle in the toolbar does not cause them to "call" as stated in the patch


2) Using the "improved" weapon/droid/general crafting tools: If you have others of those tools running and if you are using another (grinding) and it crashes out it WILL take all of the weap/droid/gen tools with it giving you the "The Crafting Session has ended" msg. Easiest way to test this is to grind by hand instead of a macro and after entering the resources in..hit the Enter key a few times quickly which causes the tool kit to crash out. Didn't use to do this prior to patch but did last year after launch

This was your solution!? Make is so that you cannot auto pull CHARGED tools maybe ... but not mol. clapms and WUKs/AUKs.

The issue here is that this "fix" ... fixes NOTHING. It mearly addes NEEDLES double clikcing and drag-dropping to each slice. This is a value add in NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM ... yet it was tossed it in (completely by passing the step where it was supposed to hit test center) in a mindless nurf.

There was no balance issue here... there was no economy issue (the tools will still be created and stored in the same quantity and in crates ... you just added 3 needles double clicks per slice.) NEEDLESS AND POORLY THOUGHT OUT KICK IN THE NUTS TO SMUGGLERS!

"Gee this doesnt really fix anything and I Can't imagine why smugglers would want it....why are we doing this again?" !?!?

Someone suggested that this may have been done to make smuggler a more difficult profession to master. If that is the case ... I have zero faith for our revamp. This does not make smuggler harder to master in any meaningful gameplay. It mearly ADDS mindless and needless tedium and mouse clicking.

I've been in this since beta...I'm done with smuggler if this remains the exmaple of your understanding of our issues.
Please say this "fix" is poorly worded and is actually something else...or is being removed.

I dont give a DAMM i pay for this game and this is asburd maybe if we make enough noise seems to be the case of most issues in this game or we hit their pocket books will they take action

Every time I try to log in it's doing a full freaking scan for like 15 minutes. I feel like I'm in beta again.

The only reason they're not complaining about this is because IT'S NOT IN. Yes, this is in the patch notes and not in the game. What is Sony doing?


Aside from that, this appears to be a typical Sony path-of-least-resistance "fix" for the bug where knives in crates would use an entire knife per slice instead of one charge (out of ten). Instead of actually fixing the underlying bug causing that, theydo a half-assed fix that technically eliminates the problem but causes yet another annoyance to the players.

Well, that latest publish pretty much convinced me that it's time to cancel my account. If, by some miracle, actual SoE employees read this post, I'd like to list just a couple of the reasons why (all of the reasons would be too numerous to mention).


Issue: Armor Now Takes Forever to Put On


I don't normally like to flame but, adding a delay to wearing armor? What kind of a sick nut job thinksup this crap? It's a *GAME*! It's supposed to be fun! It seems to be a continuing theme that adding *wait* time to aspects of the game is suppose to somehow enhance gameplay. Newsflash: many of us have actual jobs and family lives and taking an hour to play a game at night, where 30 minutes of it are spent waiting for shuttles at numerous cities(as if it's believable that there's a single shuttle handling all traffic to all destinationsat a starport), or waiting to wear armor (again.. emphasize that it's a game here,not REAL!), is rediculous.


You don't understand that if you build the game right, you won't have to add wait times to keep people online longer - they'll play just because they're having fun *continuously*!! Get it?


Issue:Severe inconsistency with actual Star Wars storyline


SoE, in my opinion, made a mistakeby tying SWG too closely to characters from the original movies. Doesn't SoE realize that the Star Wars franchise is much bigger than Luke Skywalker? Instead of adding to the richness of the universe, as many authors of Star Wars novels have already done, SoE reached out its marketing hand, and without care or consideration of impacting the original storyline, twisted (and keeps on twisting) Star Wars into a quick money-making scheme. Unfortunately, many like myself, who are real fans of the movies and novels, kept playing because we were hopeful that it will all be fixed someday, and our dream to adventure in the Star Wars universe would be realized. Not by mindlessly killing nests, or delivering items to NPCs, but by participating in meaningful, luscious storylines that are well thought out and seem to *fit* togetherand actually impact the universe we play in.


SoE would have been better off positioning SWG 1000 years in the past, where jedi were numerous (as they are now in the game), and where they could weave a storyline that added to the richness of Star Wars, instead of taking away from an icon of our times. Set in such a time, you could maybe allow players whose only desire was to *play* a jedi, to actually create a jedi character. Again, key word here is *play*, not mindless, unpaid work, whose sole purpose seems to be to beta-test your game.


The only real reason I even played SWG was because I wanted to play a jedi in a social environment. Given the rediculous inconsistency of the storyline and terrible and buggy gameplay of the game in general, I don't see why I should continue to hopelessly struggle, whether through grinding or jedi trials (in six plus weeks), to try and achieve jedi. You ruined the experience for me, SoE. Absolutely ruined it.


I'm done wasting my time and giving you my money. If anyone reads this, I strongly advise you to walk away from this game as fast as you can. It's never going to be the game you hoped it would be, they've seen to that already.

Problems:


Game doing a full scan on log in this evening, this wasn't the case this afternoon.


Armor equip delay, thanks for nerfing the Tailor profession as now everyone will just keep their armor on in order to avoid the delay.


Weapon equip dealy, thanks for nerfing the NON-PVP players like myself who need to switch weapons during PVE to counter for different resists.


Bazaar issues:


Sending me the same message twice for a Military Backpack created by me, placed up for an auction that I never held.


UI Issues:


Game wouldn't let me type in anything no matter how hard I pounded on the keyboard.


Game flashed a skill in the skill progress bar as being completed when I am over 10K xp away from completing that skill.
