Thread: “Oh my…sir, he says there are several creatures approaching
I am wondering if this was adressed in one of the many pages preceeding that I did not read:
the new grid for taing levels:
10
5 5 5 5
3 3 3 3
2 2 2 2
2 2 2 2
12
now, to me, that adds up to the initial novice 12, plus 12 a column (12 x 4 = 48) and 10 for master. Now the +_ taming is how well you tame, not how high you tame, correct? but anyway, the total levels add up to 70. and TH mentions rare level 60+ pets. does that mean there will be rare level 70 pets? I am a little confused on this matter.
much better! THANKS DEV"S FOR LISTENING TO US!
However getting "double" the XP for using 2 pets isn't actually double..its more like 125% for using 2 pets. Also mounts shouldn't count towards ANYONE's pet count since pets are a living VEHICLE. are player vehicles going to be counting towards pets? or droids? or just a datapad or inventory item? (or for thinking outside the box, player garages?) and didn't you guys say that player vehicles will have 1 turret or weapon on them? so why can player vehicles attack but not creature mounts? that doesn't make much sense...if i was a mount and something attacked me i would bite it or kick it...but thats just me...
I'm pleased with all the proposed CH changes and the updated changes. It will work out really great once people get used to them.
My only argument is about the proposal to drop nonCH to a CL 10 cap. My apologies if this has already been well beaten somewhere else in this thread or another. I'm too short on time to really dig through all this, but don't you think CL 10 is a bit extreme? Dabbling is here to stay regardless of the changesbut this may push peopleinto burning points on Novice CH they normally wouldn't have considered doing just to keepthe pets they have now.
The number one question I get as a CH is: what about myCu Pa? I confess I am very curious about this particular creature myself asit's been such a popular pet for a very long time for both nonCH and CH alike. They are CL 11which spells disaster for any nonCH with a Cu Pa in tow. I think this is one creature that definitly needs to stay accessable to the nonCH community, so I hope Devs keep this in mind while they do their work.
That it's a nice, motivated, low end fighter is only half it's appeal to people.Several peopleI know keep them around for the same reasonpeople keep dogs and never even fight with them. They are entertaining, companionable, and for anyone who has ever come across a stray babystaring at you fromatopa sand dune, you have to admit, they are just plain cute.
So please, letnonCHs keep their pets. A good number of them have come by their pets honestly and use them honestly and formed legitimate bonds with them, virtual or not. Cu Pasespecially will be breaking some hearts. I'm sure there are a great many other pets on the chopping block that people are just as attached to so I won't slight those pet owners either. It's more than just the cute fuzzy Cu Pa at stake.
Again, sorry if this is old news hehe. Sometime I may get the chance to read this whole, enormousthread.

Just as a general question, can you describe what about these changes you like? Not specific stuff - - more like "game play" impressions....
What I like is the notion that they'll reduce the reliance on pets. I see pets as a major detriment in their current form to balanced gameplay. I'm going to reiterate my previous suggestions that people who own pets and use them in combat be required to use a particular control device that takes the place of a hand-held weapon. Otherwise, you guy the pet guy two weapons to use at once, and the rest of us either have to buy a pet to compete, or accept the fact that we'll always be weaker. Seems unbalanced to me. Oh, and the same would go for substituting "combat droid" for "pet". Weapons are weapons are weapons. You guys designed the game such that people could only use one weapon at a time. Unfortunately, this design concept has not been transferred over to ALL weapons, hence the use of combat pets in addition to hand-held weapons.
Mind you, I have no problem with people using pets in combat in general. If you want to use a pet instead of a gun, that's fine. That's your choice. But you shouldn't get to whip out and use two weapons at once where every other profession is limited only to one. That just creates serious imbalance, which leads to exactly what we've seen: everyone and his mother owning a surrogate fighting machine, be it a probot (pre-nerf), a CH pet, or a faction pet.
I was unable to find the answer to the following question while sifting through the pages of this post. What will happen to existing Non-CH pets? Will ones higher than level 10 be deleted or unusable?
