Thread: Friday Feature Errata... Part 2...
to be Honest...
Armorsmiths are Exploiting this little Brainfart from the devteam
The AS's KNOW When need armour.... it decays 2x Faster than ANYTHING Else in the game...
They have a Backlog of orders for 4-6 weeks.....
"2 Million credits Please"
They crank out 4 sets a day (VERY Conservative Number)
thats 8 MILIION credits a day... short of duping, NO ONE else can make that in a day...
and we are supposed to show them love?? They are Overloved if you ask me. so the BS excuse doesnt fly.
Use some LOGIC (I now its hard) when implementing decay. "well hes dead... Got shot up pretty bad... Armour took alot of hits.... so lets add to the armor hits" Scuse me? This is as flaky of an Idea as Making houses decay EVEN THOUGH you pay your maintenance.(That was another Brainfart I Heard here)
Simple common Logic... If its Insured, it DOES NOT decay on death why is this SO HARD for you people to understand and implement.....
Lemme put it in terms you can Understand. This is what your CUSTOMERS Want.

This is where the players YOU, me him sitting there picking his nose, can do something about this, STOP bUYING ARMOR AT 2MILLION CREDITS EACH!!!
if The armorsmiths DO not get business, and they are forking out money for resources and making armor they can not sell what happens to the prices?
they drop, either that or they pack up and do something else. big deal. let someone else do it. but if the players really want to stop this, I cant afford new armor every time i die.
STOP BUYING ARMOR
STOP PVE
STOP PVP
it will all grind to a halt and become pointless. then something else will give...
i have only got 100k to my characters name due to limited time online, but im not even going to buy decent armor because of the decay rate. why should i see my credits dissappear. taken me ages to get what i have now!
:![]()
Dagobaz you say you know Armorsmiths making 8 million credits a day! LMAO, idiots buying armor for 2 million a set! lmao
use your heads, stop buying prices will come down.
All i can say is, Im sitting out Imperial "Crack your Armor" down.

Folks,
I have to step in, as Senior Producer, and take some responsibility here. The 1% decay removal was communicated to TH.
We then revoked that change without telling him. He posted erroneous information to you,
Its quite strange to see someone trying to apologize to someone that they know the **edit**ed up, but to even print this JustG is a kick in the balls everytime you read it. you even empthaized the point too. Anyone at SOE got a P45 yet?
disgraceful. and you even say the first thing you do is TALK to Thunderheart!!!!
and it is my fault.
Yes it is..
I have apologized profusely to him, and now I am doing so to the community.
Here is why we revoked that change:
We want the GCW to be everything it can be. We want factional PvP to be fun and exciting. We understand that as players, you don't want the 1% decay. We think it is an important game mechanic in the right situations, but we want to remove it from factional battles.
Our plan is, in the next publish (NOT Imperial Crackdown, which is due soon, but the following publish) to have a factional perk that you can purchase with faction points. This perk will give you 24 hours of no decay on insured items for factional deaths.
Now as to your harsh words and attitude towards Thunderheart... I understand your frustration.
But you have to know that every morning, the first person I talk to is TH, to find out about the current hot issues.
I want to Aplologize on behalf of all the decent players out here Thunderheart to give you a smile on your face, as i say below i didnt read ALL posts here, and i can imagine the negative and "hang him high" posts from players. But ThunderHeart, please take this apology on behalf of the UK that know you are doing a Good job!
PS JustG give him a pay rise, and more meetings
He comes with us to almost all of our high-level meetings and represents "the voice of the players".
I take it he was off on the day YOU decided to Introduce DECAY rate then?
He has tremendous passion for the game, and for you, and for his job. He fights for your issues, heart and soul, day in and day out. His job is to know your desires and represent them to us. And I think he does his job **edit** WELL.
It kills me to see how harsh some of the player population is towards him
Unfortunatley JustG welcome to the l33t speaking gnomes
i could not be bothered to read ALL replies, as some of these people do love this game a little too much

It kills me to see how harsh some of the player population is towards him, because I know in no small part, we are responsible for any misinformation that you receive from him. No one is perfect, and things happen very rapidly from time to time. Miscommunications are going to occur. Don't kill the messenger. Please be forgiving, or direct your wrath towards a more guilty party (me).
Again, my deepest apologies for any misinformation regarding item decay from PvP. I take full responsibility. We love this game, as you do, and want it to be everything it can be. With your help, we will get there.
Best,
- Gary
Senior Producer? That would mean you are largely responsible for the current adversarial relationship between the development team and the playerbase. Apology not accepted, you'll have to do better than that as apologies are intended to express genuine contrition and I see none here.
The only "important mechanic" I can see is that of pissing off the majority of the playerbase. If so, you've done admirably this week. Not once, not twice, but three times. The chefs are extremely unhappy at their nerf masquerading as a fix. Just about everyone is objectionable to insured decay. And, after months of hologrinding... a system you created mind you, and encouraged by placing holocrons in the game and even giving them out for Christmas... are about to pull the rug out from under everyone that has been putting large amounts of time in.
This is game, not pay-for punishment. And the dev teamis in dire need of a support group for recovering Luddites.
Thanks man i hope you game TH a day off for all the abuse he took.
Now if you love the game then please give us some good paying missons again , that you dont kneed a team to do !!! lol all we see is money for house, drill. insurance, citys, and the same time players charge the same or more for weapons and armor, Bring back the 40k solo misson lol
but anywhy thanks for the info and the change and keep up the good work

or you know, you could just get rid of decay completely like everyone wants
they would never do anything we would want, it is aganst their religon
thousands of FEEDBACK posts, many of them predicting precisely what is happening now...all ignored.
They dont even read the test center forum... they push live patches with huge bugs, reported by practically everyone in the testcenter (vehicles not storing the most blatant one yet)..
this game is the first one ive ever played that actually FUKS the game more every patch. I mean, hell not even World War 2 Online can claim that.. and thats digging the bottom of the **edit**pit.

So essentially, TH gave us information accurate as he knew it to be and had the carpet pulled out from under him. **edit**, takin' it from both ends...
Could you shplain a little how you feel this 1% decay on insured items is such an important mechanic that you are willing to have a continued dark cloud hover over the GCW's long term health to keep it in there? Really, what is this new FP perk you are throwing at us than another form of insurance? Why two systems to get the same job done?
The only thing good about this new proposed FP Decay Pass is that it at least gives us something USEFUL to spend faction points on.
Listen to this person. Seriously, if you want to get anywhere. You guys (devs) have the power to get people engaged in the GCW very simply.
Remove all decay on insured items until you can fix this problem correctly. I don't understand why you are not getting it. You are killing this game with procrastination and lousy ideas such as a PvP day pass. JUST REMOVE DECAY ON INSURED ITEMS FOR THE TIME BEING. It couldn't be more simple. Then you will be given the time to get it right and your customers will be able to start enjoying this game instead of ignoring one of the main faucets for enjoyment.
REMOVE THE DECAY...
Don't you guys realize that the player community does not want this in the game? Does what the players want make any difference to you at all? You would think, with the amount of other MMORPG's out there, especially with WoW coming out soon, and having much better prospects then this game, you would want to give the people paying your salary what they want.
In one night of fighting, my brand new ubese jacket, with about 18000 cond was down to 14000 condition. I bought a new one at least once a weak. I wish I could get these repaired, but even by master armorsmiths the success rate is horrible. Please someone explain to me why armor needs to decay more then a brand new jacket being completely gone in 5 day?
Get with it people, give us what we want. There are plenty of other options out there for us. You take everything fun in the **edit**ing game and change it so its not fun any more. WHY DO WE FEEL LIKE ITS US AGAINST YOU??? SHOULDN'T WE FEEL LIKE ITS YOU WORKING FOR US???
Decay is worthless. The only folks it hurts are those that use armor.
Wepons, backpack's, food, spice, meds don't decay on death
Clothes decay but you can wear them even at 0. So don't see how it helps Tailors.
Figure Decay hurts BE's some what who wants to pay big $ for BE clothing when it will be worthless in a week.
Me personally haven't bought armor or clothing since decay was put in and won't till it's removed. Doing fine with out it.
If they want a death penalty, they should go back to Don't clone massive wounds, BF. Clone minor wounds,Bf. Would require some downtime in Pvp for healing up after a few death and give the medical prof. some loving.
