yay, everyone wants to be a jedi! Fools.

I just have to say that sony doesn't care how much work you did grinding professions to become a class you know is limited and difficult to get to. If you finished four holocrons, maybe they'll compensate you somehow for the work you did for those, but as for grinding every profession there is into oblivion so that you could find the final one.. you deserve no compensation for it, none at all. You weren't going to get anything for it anyway, when you finally found the last one you'd have gotten an FSCS. Well, now you don't have to, or you can continue and unlock it or not have enough time to before the change. It's your OWN fault for wasting your time.

Thumbs up for removing the grinding system!!

But removing the permadead, will ruin the jedi profession .... Lets face it, most of the people here want their character to be special, hell Ill bow to any master jedi in the game now. Well done, hard work rewards itself! But come on, how many Master Jedi's should there be, before the fun is over?? 50 ?? 100 ?? 500 ??

Think about it SOE, watch the movies, how many Jedi's are there between movie 4 and 5, not many, whichthere shouldnt be here either!

With the new system, a Jedi player can just take a break from his Jedi character for a few days, and go back without being punished much! The game will die, if this gets made, drowned in Jedi's!

Now in the game, Jedi's take great pains not to be found, they travel in numbers, which makes it hard for BHs to get them, and thats even if they could track them, and if they only got real working mission from the BH terminals!

There should at least be some kind of permadead counter, 50 deads ... hell I dont know what it should be, but please think this one through, it doesnt hurt, only the game if the wrong decision is made in haste to please us players!

Thats my 50 cents, on this issue, I truely hope Im wrong!

Terrible, just freaking terrible.

why don't we just call this game KOTR , seems it will be a more fitting title. I could put up with the powerful jedi because there was a risk of perma death. But in a game where a small amount of grinding will get you your skills back I see no challenge in this new system.

I do however want to thank SOE for reminding me why I had quit the first time, and why I don't promote this game to other people. all you care about is your cash cow, and to heck with continuity or content.

Who said WE HAD TO FOLLOW THE TIMELINE, that doesn't mean that more jedi can develop in this time period, we can follow the timeline, however edit it in the process. Jedi can be more plentiful and all.

Of course they would make an announcement like this on a Friday afternoon near quitting time just to piss people off and make them wait till Monday to hear "We will have a more detailedreport Thursday".

the best and the most rewarding proffesion in the game should take a long time to get, i mean since when do casual gamers have level 50 characters in any mmorpg?, but the devs want both type of players to be equally succesful? BAD MISTAKE, dont foget that powergamers keep u getting a paycheck.

Actually, power-gamers have traditionally been only a small part of MMORPG "income." As a matter of fact, power-gamers tend to suck up more than their "fair share" of resources, both technical and content-wise.

A casual gamer will still pay the same monthly fee, suck up less tech support/CSR/QA resources, am far easier to please when it comes to game balance, do NOT post bad things on the forum... etc. The only thing is, casual gamers tend to have higher churn rates.

Of course, power-gaming is a way of life, and a fundamental phenomenon to MMORPGs. If you have rules and stats, you will have people who try to maximize their stats and work the rules as much as they can. But saying that power-gamers "keep u getting a paycheck" is unfortunately non-realistic.

You go from one mistake (holocrons) to an even bigger one (making Jedi not perma death). Good lord.. what are you guys thinking???? Jedi permadeath was the only good thing about the system and now you go and remove it. Sometimes I wonder why SoE always listens to the biggest whiners in this game who make up the vast minority. It's ridiculous.

"Who said WE HAD TO FOLLOW THE TIMELINE"......ummmm....Georege Lucas and Lucas Arts. The continuity department had to ok this game before market....common knowledge my friend.

I'm glad the hologrind is over, and the asinine holocrons will finally be removed. I was embarassed for the Dev's for implementing this system, and am glad they have finally come to their senses.

Dear Devs:

I never thought about trying to be a Jedi before.

All the holocrons did were start camping, and ninja-looting, and kill-stealing... and I didn't want anything to do with that.

But thenyou gaveme 2holocrons for Christmas(thanks, by the way.)

So I said to myself "ok, I'll drop my profession to do the holocrons"

ONE MONTH after you give away the holocrons, you want to change the rules?

Not cool.

You encouraged the profession grinding by adding holocrons in the first place, and then by giving them away to everyone... surely, you have to take responsibility for that.

Sincerely.

Devs, all I have to say is that I'm glad you have finally decided to remove holocrons. I'm not trying to be negative, but holocrons were probably the worst idea you guys ever had.

I have mixed feelings about this, because on one hand I'm glad that the hologrinding is about to be stamped out for good, but on the other I'm disapointed that you've decided to remove permadeath for jedis as well. To everyone who is complaining about permadeath, they need to understand one thing. Being a jedi was never meant to be easy, nor was it about constantly using your FSCS character for PVP or any kind of dangerous situations. I know it's just a game, but come on. The only time you've ever seen jedis all rush into battle was in EP2, and then look what happened. They nearly became extinct, lol.

In the time period that SWG is set, jedis are supposed to be rare, and hunted. They should have to remain hidden for the most part unless it's a situation that demanded the use of thier abilities. Unless Darth Vader himself is stomping through your city slaughtering everything in sight, you should be forced to remainhidden for fear that you will die and jedis will become extinct forever. The last thing I'd want to see is a bunch of jedi storming some player city just because thier guild thought it'd be fun. Jedi in this day and age shouldn't risk thier lives for something so meaningless.

No one ever said that being a jedi should be easy, or full of adventure and excitement.

Well good, this new system must be a good one cause after reading page after page of this thread it appears the only people that are pissed off are Bounty Hunters. GO JEDI!

Not a BH or Jedi

(Talk about keeping the game true to the IP, you'd think a Bounty Hunter would be more of a real man and not cry so dang much. I always pictured them with half a brain as well. All you weeping BH's out there, if what you fear comes to be true about the Jedi then you should be the richest prof in the galaxy...assuming things are all bugged out).
