10 VERY IMPORTAN Mount Questions:
1. Which mounts can be used by non-CH players?
Likely answer: Under lvl 10 under new update rules, which means only spats
I think: If they cannot be used to attack in combat... let every player use any mount they wish
2. Can only the base creature be used for each type of mount or can any? Ex: can a Mountain Dewback be used instead of just a plain Dewback, can a (hostile) Giant Carrion Spat be used instead of just a plain Carrion Spat, can a Male Brackaset be used instead of just a plain Brackaset (I've never seen a baby plain Brackaset baby)
Likely answer: Nope only plain ones can be used because the devs used a particular model size to scale with the players correctly, balance issues dictate that only CHs using a mount in combat should have a pet like a brackaset with 9000+ HAM and counts as one of their 2 active pets (under proposed CH nerf)
I think: Any variation of the creature should be able to be trained as a mount
3. Will Bio-Engineers be fixed in time so they can make working mountable pets, and how much better will they be? Faster, etc.
Likely answer: Bio-Engineers won't be fixed by that time, but they will be able to craft several different types of mounts (not likely all 6), and they will be better--but only by HAM
I think: Bio-Engineers should be able to make mounts with more speed and more terrain negotiation... in addition to better resists and HAM as usual
4. Since mounts can't attackin combat, why do they count as one of a user's active pets?
Likely answer: Sounded like a good idea at the time.
I think: They should't count as an active pets, since there are penalties for using them and combat and they can't attack or tank they need not be balanced... there is nothing to balance other than the mobility they offer... which can be balanced by dizzy/posture/stun forcibly dismounting players
5. Will range accuracy be further decreased if firing while still mounted?
Likely answer: No, but you cannot use attack styles and skills while mounted
I think: It should... it should be at least 25% worse than firing while running
6. Will there be any attack styles using mounts? Ex: Charging an opponent and knocking them over etc.
Likely answer: Not for the original mounts release, would take too long to implement and test
I think: There should be, but us SWG players are willing to wait for advanced features like this... we know you are working hard
7. Will dizzy/stun/posture affect mounts' movementor even forcingtheplayer-owner to dismount?
Likely answer: Not for the original mounts release, would take to long to implement and test
I think: They should... they definitely should wether the styles hit the player or the mount... and this would balance mount mobility in combat so they wouldn't have to count as an active pet
8. Will mounts offer any more storage space, like a mobile safety deposit?
Likely answer: Not at release time, but plans are underway for wearable mount gear to have storage space like backpacks
I think: They should shortly after release... early December update with vehicles?
9. So other than faster transportation, is there ANY reason to use a mount?
Likely answer: No.
I think: Faster transportation is a good enough reason to have them... but what happens when vehicles are introduced? Mounts would seem to turn and change direction on a mount, and if they had some kind of attack of their own while players were riding them like a charge or such... that would be a reason to use a mount
10. So when vehicles come out (they will be faster than mounts) whill there be any reason whatsoever to use a mount?
Likely answer: No.
I think: You should read question number 9 again.
Ok Thunder, Holo, Q... tell us if this is about the size of it. Many of these questions affect the choices BEs and CHs will make in the next two weeks or so before the update. Lil help?
What level of CH will u need to be to be able to tame the mounts as rideable. I have heard rumors that only a master CH can do the taming, is this true?
Hey Guys When Will Mounts Be Going To Public Servers Anyone Know??
Reply Thanks

Sadly, The devs can never win.
I think this update is great and can't wait to ride my carrion spat. But like amany other people I want to know how I will be able to train it to be mountable, etc.

Well yay! And darn!
I'm delighted the mounts are coming - thank you! I'm really looking forward to being able to drop my skill-point-devouring Exploration Tree and still being able to get fromtown to my mission waypoint before the seasons change.

From other posts I've seen (I'll freely admit to not having read 14 pages of this thread), it looks like the only creature a non-CH can ride is the kaadu's ugly cousin? Too bad for me, because I've got kaadu all around, and a CH friend who scooped one up for me, when we found out that my bantha won't be ridable.
I was disappointed to learn I won't be able to ride my bantha (painstakingly sought out for me by my CH friend who had to find one under Lvl-15), and heartbroken to learn that soon I will never again be able to take him out and watch him play (at best, he'll be a little spinney-thing in my datapad that I can't interact with - no longer a fun/cute creature, but an image, dead).
Now, it looks like my only riding option is going to be Freddy Kreuger's pet chicken? BLEAH! ![]()

That said, I'm really glad the mounts are coming! ![]()
I personally like the concept of riding in from the west to save the day riding my trusty chicken.
"Who was that masked chicken-rider hero?"
"It was none other than the Great -Cookiepuss-, Chicken Riding Warrior (CRW) of great reknown!"
Just need to come up with some theme music. I already have the disco costume. I hope I can get a Gucci saddle like the Sherrif from Blazing Saddles...
