Garva, one suggestion....when you are replying to a post, would you please quote that post? Someone like me that only scans to posts to see the devs comments would be able to keep up with the flow a lot easier. Sorry, but I just don't have time to read 16 pages of posts.
In relation to the topic, I like the idea of adding diversity and some of the suggestions are spot on.

Nice system, but the star ranks are a little too fickle. If you achieve something, it shouldn't be taken away...especially not by a few malicious people with over-active clicky fingers.
It's an average of the rated posts. not all posts.
I have over 1000 posts...but not all of them are rated. Most...are basically ignored. lol Only the ones that are RATED count on the Star Titles.

I get that. What I'm saying is that, right now, posts are either unrated, one-starred, or five-starred. People rarely bother with anything in between. I'd rather see people commended for having 20 5-star posts, than 5 5-stars, 5 1-stars, and 10 3-stars...or whatever. People one-star out of spite, more often than not. A system like that is not the sort of system you want to be basing a rank system on.
Another idea - scrap the stars. Just have a single "star" that you can award to a post, if you like it, if you agree, or whatever. The rating would be based on how many people starred it. Then you could do a cumulative star thing. No averages. No 1-star ninjas. Just people who like your post, or don't. Then you total up the stars, and if you have a certain number of stars, you're eledgable for a star rank. The total of your stars can't decrease, so you can't have a malicious person "steal" your rank from you. If people come out with lots of positive, good ideas, that lots of people agree with...they should be the ones that are rewarded, not the people who have the least "enemies" on the forums.

Another ID title holder already posted this, but what about us with the Interior Decorator title? I personally would rather keep my title then lose it to gain another title. What do the IDs out there get with this new ranking system?

Can we also get some feedback on these extremely old forum issues?
1) Failure to authenticate login informaiton. My account does not get logged in despite entering the correct information. Sometimes it takes dozens of attempts or waiting and trying later.
2) Logins expiring. Lithium supposedly had an update a while back to fix this. It's not fixed. Occasionally I can remain logged in for several hours even after navigating away from the forums, other times my login terminates after 15 minutes of inactivity.
3) "Too many searches in progress" This message is getting extremely annoying. The threshold needs to be raised - alot.

I'll tell you what I think. I think the whole star system is stupid. All it does is allow unintellectual troglodites to do drive-bys on the posts of others. Dump it entirely. You'll practically never see star ratings anyway.

The star ratings for those few ranks is based on what people have so far and what is possible, as you can see its used sparcely and does not grant much more than title changing, there is a similar unranked title. Also yes, the star ranked "officer" ranks kick in faster than the regular ones.
The system will change when we are done with it, no specific date yet other than soon. And remember I do not work on the programming of the game, sorry, or I would be doing that.

I like the changes. The titles are better and from what I can tell,older posters are getting more senority despite post count, which is good. This forum rank layout is an improvement from the previous layout in my book. I like the military rank titlesmore than the political rank titlesfrom before, but I do agree that maybe there should be a choice of title at the top. If not the jedi titles should be replaced by something else.
