Hey Thunder, is there anyway someone who works on this gamecan add "Commas" to all numbers and "Right Align" the numbers in the inventory window so that its easyer to see how much you have in the inventory?

Simple Request from a relatively new tailor: Please make tailor belts actually fit around people's waists'. Currently they either appear very thick or appear to be a floating ring around the torso. Same goes for bandoliers, they often float above the chest.


This should be a relatively easy fix right? All it would take would be scaling down the size of the belt on the player model.

Although we have gotten two publishes the DE profession is now more borked than it ever was. There are multiple topics with long lists of bugs the devs havent fixed and the new ones they created.

We STILL cant name protocol, LE, or medical droids,

Our combat droids are next to useless compared to LVL10 creatures, unlike what the DEVS said.

Droid's name filters wont allow numbers

There are more, but I wont discuss them here.

I do like the Idea of pilotable AT-ST's/AT-AT's but since im Rebel, I would like to see us get something. Such as the T-47 airspeeder(the real name of the snowspeeder) With customizable engines.etc like fighters in JTL. It could work just like a normal vehicle otherwise, plus the combat vehicle rules I will post up later on, just make it be on the ground when stopped andgo at the hight that the shuttle fliesat on approch to the shuttleport at full speed, since its an airspeeder.and I would really like to see the rebellion get some sort of APC landspeeder, if the Imps get the AT-AT, ALthough it wouldnt be a powerful as the AT-AT it would be able to get about10 (8 passengers, 1 gunner, 1 driver)Rebels though the defences/walls if both are implemented, along with being able to provide cover fire for the passengers as they get out.

RULES FoR FACTIONAL COMABT VEHICLES:

1: they are much slower than normal vehicles(with the exception of the T-47), meanign they wont be too useful for normal transportation.

2: The driver is TEF'ed or overtonce they enter the vehicle.

3: The vehicle has much more armour than normal vehicles, and high resists.

4.The vehicles use twitch firing (like in JTL spaceships)

5. They should be crafted by either MA's or shipwrights(they can start off being made by MA's, then once JTL is released Shipwrights make them)

6. They cant be called near a faction base of the opposite faction

All I can think of ATM

IDEA ON WHAT PCFV (player crafted faction vehicles) WOULD USE

AT-ST: 70k Steel, 8 advanced droid motive systems, power core unit, two beam cannons or some comps from a weaponsmith

AT-AT: 200k Steel, 10 advanced droid motive systems, 4 advanced power core units, a lot of toher comps from armoursmith/weaponsmith

Snowspeeder: Dunno

APC landspeeder: im not sure

This is jsut an idea, Im not that sure what else, but it should be somewhat hard to craft.

That's right. Time to be annoyed by that Rodian Chic again.


This time I think I'll have a say about clothes.


The Galaxy has a diverse population each with it's diverse peoples. There should be several clothing styles specific to plants. Example :The naboo clothing styles from the movies are wonderous, both military uniforms and common dress. Imagine what style Corellia would have as the entire Corellian system is habitated by divers people and it is on a major hyperspace route to many other sectors of the galaxy, clothing should reflect this. Tatooine attire should reflect it's desert climate.


Also the varied species should have there own intresting clothing style from their own worlds of origin. Right now only wookiees and Twi'liks have there own clothing style. It would be nice that all species have something of their own as well.


There we go, I've said my piece on clothing variety. I hope this and what I have said on armor is well recieved.

a petition by any member of a group to be made the leader of said group. if not answered within one minute, the person who filed petition becomes leader. only one petition may be made at any time (like "x is already considering an invitation from another group," but here, "x has already petitioned to be made group leader").


why? well, in some cases, group leaders go afk for extended periods of time ("i'm going to grab something out of the fridge" turns into "i'm going to bake a three course meal, and man, i make a wicked souffle) or, worse, go LD. this makes it impossible to invite new members, kick members who have gone LD or AFK and are needlessly taking up spots, and replace the leader with someone capable of performing certain leader-only functions (squad leader commands and bonuses, band leader commands, etc.). right now, the only way to resolve the AFK/LD leader issue is to disband and form a new group. because group members are not always in the same place, disbanding is not always an option.


is this really helpful? yes, i think it would help solo mission groups a great deal, and would also be a boon to entertainer bands in cantinas. (of course, these might be two things the devs want to destroy with the combat balance and the end of hologrinding, respectively.) since i've seen quite a few people go LD during combat recently (though this may be an exploit), i figure it will also help pvpers who suffer the loss of a leader and want to add members to a pick-up battle in theed or wherever.


just a thought, hope someone picks it up and runs with it.

Ok likely to sound like an idiot but hay whats new


Ok what I would like is to be able to wear my uniform as either covert or overt its only clothing and if I am Overt and not in armor I would last less than 10 seconds when I got blasted to pieces.


A safe haven and I mean truely safe such as on board a star destroyer / mon cal cruiserso that Overts can rolepay with out the fear someone is going tokill them or somecovert isconstantly challenging the to duels as he wants to killthe other side but is to scared to go Overt he wanders the enemy territories trying to pick fights with people he knows he can beat


Get rid of AP points the constant shoutingto pay people for trainningdoes nothing to help thegame I can imagine that this system was intended to make people talk to each other but all its done is filled the shout channels and start a bidding war. I even get people send me tells asking to train me when I make next level. Wouldn't a questbe a better way of becoming a master.


Being a faction member meaning somethingand having decent perks.


Bases to be hiddenand well defended so powerful charatcers cant farm them while they wait formembers of the oposite faction who are Overt or haveTEF to kill.

Current Tree Balancing Ideas for Jedi and Robe Tweaks:


Lightsaber - Currently this is one of the two trees in the Jedi profession right now that are just too good to pass up, while the remaining three arent good enough to bother investing in. What needs to be done is that these trees need to be toned down a bit and a great way to do that would be with the following:


  • Get rid of the Lightsaber toughness value in this tree and add these resistances to the Jedi robes. Not only would this give people a reason not to master this tree but it would also help new Jedi out with resists and fullfill the promise for robed resistances. Now to make this an actual addition to the profession instead of a shuffling the robes could be given an ap1 rating.

  • Lightsaber Block - Needs to be named Jedi Block and sprinkled throughout the whole profession. This skill would still only work with a Lightsaber but it would allow for other Jedi templates to get some much needed defenses instead of just leaving it solely in the Lightsaber tree.

Defense Tree - Last time this skill changed it got nerfed into oblivian, so much that most people wont even bother training it since most of the benefits from this tree can be gained from the enhance tree through Jedi buffs such as force Armor and resists. Here are some ideas on how to make this tree more appealing:



  • Add the Lightsaber reflect skill into this branch to balance it should work just like a standard counterattack mod but have a lower firing rate so it wouldnt be too overpowering too ranged attackers.

  • Add Melee block to this tree also - This skill should be just as good as a Jedi ability to block ranged attacks. If the ranged block needs to be toned down a tad in order to give us melee block then it would be acceptable.

  • Allow a certain amount of Jedi toughness to work against Lightsaber Damage. This nerf right here was severe but combining it with moving force armor to enhance was the act that put the nails in the coffin. The best way would be to not allow the protection values of Jedi toughness and force armor to stack. This would give both an enhancer and defender roughly the same protection in Jedi vs. Jedi pvp but the defender would have better since his would be innate.

Force Powers - This tree needs a much needed boost. Below are some tweaks that could be done.



  • Force Intimidate 1 and 2 need their force costs lowered drastically, enough so that its brought in line with the brawler intimidates for costs.

  • Force Lightening skills should bypass all professions toughness values since it can easily be absorbed by Composite Armor.

  • Force Choke / Weaken - These skills should be un-nerfed and allowed to be stacked once again or if they are kept weak like they currently are then Combat Med's diseases / poisons shouldnt be stacked either for balance across the board.

  • Force Knockdown timer needs to be adjusted currently I hear that it has a 3 second delay on live and this is unnacceptable since if you use it on an npc or person they are up sooner than 3 seconds.

Robe Ideas - Here are a list of ideas on robes that I had.



  • As mentioned above remove Lightsaber toughness and replace it with the exact same value but incorporated into the robes.

  • Make Padawan robes AP1 while the FRS robescould be AP2.

  • Allow Padawans to color their robes. If there is a problem due to rank then here are some alternate means of being able to tell what rank the Jedi is.


    • Upon entering the FRS system a Jedi will recieve a Jedi belt with a Lightsaber clip on it just like the Jedi have in the movies. So instead of holding their Lightsaber they will be seen with the Lightsaber on the belt. Also this belt could have other bonus's such as 10% resists to bleeds / flames / poisons etc.. or just allow it to grant more force and regeneration.

    • Lower Mid Level Council members could recieve a special Jedi necklace that looks cool and offers Jedi bonus's.

    • Upper Mid Level Council Members could recieve a special cloak that fits over the Jedi tunic this cloak would have its hood down though but could offer an additional few points of Jedi toughness.

    • High Level Council Members could recieve the same cloak but with the option of wearing the hood up.

I understand it to be that the extra slots that people unlock will share the current lots that you already have, which i think is unfair. Why give the extra chars lots but only for say houses, or maybe even one house, that doesnt count towards your lots, something so that the extra char can atleast own a house


Thisor up the limits that each house can have, owning a large house is not worth it atm, either way something has to be done

Some Ideas on Galaxies...

Hi there ! When I watched the movies (the original 3 ones) in the last couple of days, i suddenly had some ideas on what i expected from this game. This is surely not a barkoff like "hey damn, im paying 15 bucks a month and im deserving this sh**" Please see it as constructive thinking FOR FREE ! Maybe you could use it on SWG2 or something.

For ME this would bring a more Star-Warsy feeling to this game:


Creature Diversity:

In the first movie for example there was that cantina when Luke, Obi Wan and the Droids searched for a ship. In this Cantina were so many different species... They had nothing to do with story and anything but they gave the scene a look and feel as if they (and the viewer) were really beamed to a galaxy far far away... When i walk trough the cities of the game there are so many humanoid species - its almost (nah-ok it IS) like walking trough the front door of my irl house. Almost all of the pc and npcs are of humanoid form. I think it would greatly add to the feeling if you could see an arcona or a celegian more often. I think more of the NPCs should be different Species. Here are some more species i didnt see by now : Geonosians, Whiphids, Ithorians (maybe ive been to the wrong places).


Outfits:

Where are the Stormtrooper Players ? There are only NPC Stormtroopers out there. Even the higher Level imperial Commanders wear carbon armor instead of imperial uniforms ? In the movies the empire is a monolithic structure where individualism is punishable by summary execution (see perm. death below).


Vehicles:

There is a way of customizing the four different vehicles, but in the movies there are way more. What about skiffs or these v-35s ? I also dreamt of piloting(!) an at-st or even an at-at.... nothing there (now). Also you should have the option to sell your vehicle. (Someone want to buy a speeder ? Slightly used but working...) What about trucks or something ? Carrying 50k of iron in a backpack ? Come on...


Chatting:

Talking trough /tell may be a nice feature but it just doesnt seem right. In the movies there is always a direct form of communication (head to head or trough a communication device or trough the FORCE). This makes the movies so PERSONAL. Also i think that the languages should not be so easy to learn. This may damage the community feeling, but the different languages add greatly. Just think of Chewbacca or R2-D2 not speaking one single english word in the movies.


Locations / Cities and Housing:

I just think player cities are the last way to go. Only if you dont want to live the StarWars-way. The best thing would be if you could rent or buy a house / flat in the original cities. *dreamsofahouseintheed*


Player Permanent Death:

I know this is really a sensitive matter but hey: if you die - you die. Look at the movies: there is no cloning centre or anything. If people die - they stay dead. Its a hard universe out there. This would also add more adrenaline and feeling to the game. Also you could marry, have two children and play on with them... great stuff for big s(oa)p(ace) operas.


GCW:

There should be a bigger penalty to be a rebel. Im not sure how this should look, but on some servers there seem to be more rebels than imperials. How about making faction perks more pricy ? Rebels that advance slower in rank ? After all - the empire really RULES this timeperiod and nobody really FEARS it.


(N)PC-Acting:

How about hiring some guys and letting them play Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker (to continue the Saga in the realm of the expanded universe... maybe to a point where another deathstar is build above endor...) ? These NPCs are WAY too good to let them rot in the hell of a static mission.


OK. BIG Post... To sum it up: I surely think SWG is a great game and a lot of work was done by SOE by creating the galaxies. But its not really like the movies. Somethings missing and for ME, it has something to do with the points mentioned above. I´m glad if i get any feedback on this from other players.

Thanks anyway for giving me the possibility to LIVE THE SAGA and expressing my humble thoughts in this forum (hope its the right place to post it 8) ).

Quite a few of this guys points are good. I like the envolvement of real actors playing major NPC's. The one thing I never liked about this game was the duel. Having to chalenge someone was a little strange to me. I would like to see something where this did not happen. I remember watching the 4th movie an i was interested when Ben told Luke Mos Eisley was where you could find some of the worste scum in the galaxy. Well on that note i would think that if you walked into that town you should expect some kind of danger. I really dont know how something can be pulled off on this level but heck if i walk into a town i would like to just be able to shoot anyone an anything, if i feel like it. Give newbe players a time alotment. IE when i sign in for the 1st time, no one can kill you but when u make it say 1/2 way up a profession you can be killed or wounded. This would enable a true military force for towns an encourage people to be members of thos towns for protection. Let turrets be built around them. Maybe there can be some kind of policeing done in the public towns by NPC's. If i kill someone for no reason then stormtroppers come after me or that person can hire a BH to hunt me down. I know there would be some serious issues with this type of game but it would make things alot more interesting.

I would also like to see factions get more involved IE if you are rebel you get a mail when u log on telling you to meet some NPC an this NPC would give u a mission that truly can affect the game. the better the player the more important the mission. I remember when they 1st came out with the transmissions in loots. What did the 4 peices do? Nothing as far as I was able to tell. Give someone a real mission. IE There is a Small Group of ST carrying a transmission, recover the item, it has plans for a new death star. If the person gets it, then No new death star. Ifthey dont then give someone else the mission but have it on a time line. If they all fail then big new death star. Make the information public the day after, so all will know what is taking place. Place another page up so people who are higher level can get access to information about the missions they have been give and the missions an progress with a given password from that NPC. Bring the game a little offline. I would love to sit in my car on the way home from work an try to figure out how to complete an important mission that could sway the galaxy. This game has the fan base an the chance of really being what it was touted in all the mags. It just needs a little more personal involement from both sides. Just my thoughts as why i get bored of the game sometimes.
