Thread: In-Concept Open Discussion (Week Ending 3-22-04)
My comment here concerns the proposed Wookie armor, and its quaint Wicker King look. It is ugly, and even with the 'Big Walking Carpet' look about wookies I think they have a certain dignity that the proposed artwork does not capture at all. I know that all my wookie buddies are dreading having to have that be their only choice for armor. I know the dev designers can come up with something truely wookie in nature that does not destroy their sense of attractiveness.
Wookies need a secret weapon where armor is concerned. Not something that will only evoke jeers.
I havea fewthoughts on things I would like to see.
There was an earlier post relating to an increase in skill points over time. I too find myself not able to have the character I want, but I would make it a cybernetic implant rather than a granted over time. The implant could be a quest schematic for bio-engineers and then implantable by a doctor. There would be a chance for failure (removal of skill points) and there should still be a maximum. Also, only one implant, but they can be replaced if you want to try for a better one. Limit the number of implantationsa doctor can do (something so the average is maybeone per week of real time, don't know what that would be for the average player in game time) and the "recovery" time of the patient (maybe one per month real time). This could apply to other stats as well with varying apply and recovery times. This should allow growth over time, but a potential penalty as well. Or maybe something of a use it or lose it approach could be added to skills.
I would also like to see apartment/condo complexes. Maybe make the buildings/rooms in the NP cities rentable. Also a set of schematics for Architects to make them for PC cities. Allow the landlord to rent out the various rooms and then he or she pays the maintenance, or the Architect (aka Land Developer) sells the units individually and maintenance is paid by each individual. Maybe allow storefront space as part of the building. This could reduce the sprawl of the cities.
A strength check on locks might also be interesting. Got a locked crate? You're going to need a smuggler... or a wookie.
One last thing, the ability to make individual roomsprivate (or semi private) in some buildings and factional/guildpermissions in addition to individual. For example, a cantina with a factionally limited back room where rebellion plans are hatched or a smugglers den with spices and crafting stations. Maybe have it be a safehouse for TEF players, the radar loses them when they enter. The door could be sliceable which incurs a TEF, or an NPC could declare a "door to door" search.
Thanks.

This certification would come as a general "High Level Armor Certification
Hello,
Why they are too many same armors, that is very serge.
It's a lot of fun if there is a specific armor for each specie. Because mon calamari's eyes on each side of his/her head, composition headarmor can not used for this specie (more real) and Twi-Lek has big lekku, no headarmor for this specie or big headarmor ![]()
I hope more fun and different armor for each specie character.
