Thread: On Mandalorian Armor

I give a nice big thumbs down to the armor. I don't care who wants it. But if it's going to happen I think it should be quest based. Here's the quest. Kill Boba Fett and loot it off him. Here's the catch. His HAM is at 100,000,000 and he is 99% resist to everything you can throw at him and only one person per sever can have the armor. If you could do this then you can be worthy of wearing his armor. That should be the only way you could get it. Now quit whining.

Ok I didn't have the stamina to read all that but based on the first few pages there was some conflict on whether or not everyone can wear the armor.

My suggestion (dunno if this is possible or not):

Depending on your profession you get boosts from the armor (via certs in the tree). Since it has the built in gadgets, perhapse some gadget certs could be added to the BH tree so they could use the cable to subdue enemies.

Additionally the flame thrower on the gauntlets would require BH or Commando to use.

The armor could be balanced by having a little less resists than composite, but with added goodies only accessable by certain professions. This could also be done by adding special attacks into the combat trees and unless you had the armor equipped (ala rifle/carbine/pistol/ft/llc) it would say that the attack cannot be performed with that weapon, or armor in this case.

When it gets put in, can we please have a way to actually have it in the game? Take RIS armor for example. Sure, we can make it, but to get the ingredients to do so is laughable. Especially the woolmander stuff. I have yet to see someone wear a set of RIS armor, let alone even sell it.

Having armor like this should be "laughable". I just hope that only a select few have it

Maybe make it wearable by MBH's only? Reward them for their hard work?

What hard work? Leveling a normal profession to master is nowhere near hard work.

If you wanna make Mandalorian Armor special and rare then make an elite mercenary class thats opened up just like Jedi and these people are given the ability to obtain or wear Mandalorian Armor anything less than this will cheapen it.

Jedi get lightsabers

Elite Mercenaries get Mandalorian

Both are badges of honor.

Death Watch were a part of the mandalorian army but broke off once Jaster was chosen to leader the Mandalorians cause they felt he was not fit to be the leader and end up killing Jaster and almost the whole true mandalorian army (later).

The way to make this predominantly BH armour is not to class restrict it but to make it particularly strong against lightsabers but only average against other damage types (say 60% to 80% resist, Medium armour, Lowish HAM, unsliceable - its not exactly got any imperial controls to circumvent). Fix lightsaber damage to be a unique type with no common resists, add that resist (40 to 80%) to Mandalorian armour and give all mobs resit it equal to their kinetic resist.

The way to keep the link to crafter community is by having it be low condition and thus require frequent repair. E.g. its droped at 600/6000 condition, you'll want a master armoursmith following you arround with his +25 repair kit and lucky Durni foot to get 95% repairs and you'll agonise about the exact right moment to get the repair done. This will also keep it rare as it will fall appart (change the art when it hits 1/1 too so it does not go on display).

I'm not in favour of another RIS with yet more item camping etc. though I can see it would be a very attractive solution.

dont make the mistake of making mandalorian armor craftable and sellable by armorsmiths, it will end up being like RIS where it sells for 12 million credits for the stupid helm, but 10x as bad cause its mandalorian, please make it a quest item that you recieve not something that you get a schematic for, i think the crafters could stand to be left out of one aspect of the game like mandalorian armor crafting

Old school MBH, now a gimp lvl 70 because I decided to renew.

The quest should be dynamic so no two people can duplicate what the other didand so know just what to do tofinish it. It should also be a one-shot deal. No one should be able to snag more than one suit of this "rare" armor. Letting folks horde this stuff (which they will if you let them) is just not a good idea.

Unless you make the drops schematics that cannot be factory made and require incredibly hard to get components, any and all "uber loot" should be no-drop and no-tradeperiod. Otherwise, you never have rarity for any of this stuff and it WILL be farmed to death by the large PAs and the powergamers.

If you want to keep the crafters "in the loop" and keep the gap between the haves and the have-nots from getting wider, you HAVE to make the stuff truly rare and not farmable in any way.

Frankly, folks SHOULD be unhappy about not being able to get the armor it if is to be TRULY rare. Every MBH or Commando should NOT have a set of such RARE armor. Otherwise, it is just not rare. RIS armor is a perfect example. You never see the stuff and that is how Mandalorian should be.

You don't wanna keep crafters out of the economy??? There is no major cash reward for PVP and PVE money is a far far 2nd to the money any crafter gets.

This is one thing the Crafters need to be kept completely out of the loop on, from the crafting angle that is.

...also only person in SW lore that I know of that had a suit was Jango/Boba and I thought it was a custom suitJangohad made.

So Jedi aren't commonplace huh. So about everyone will be wearing a suit is the message I'm getting.

It should be a scematic understood only by MBH. This should be our reward for spending 217 skill points to master a single elite profession. We, as Master Scouts, have crafting abilities. But since publish 7 and the restrictions of droids/pets/vehicle calls in camps only being lifted, we can no longer craft any useful items. DEVS!!! THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO LEGITAMIZE THE MASTER SCOUT PRE-REQ!!!!!!!!! Give the Master Bounty Hunters the ability to craft our own armor out of resources that we, as scouts, harvest. Give this suit of armor customizable traps, such as the limited range flame-thrower, wrist lanyard, and poison rocket darts Boba Fett had on his armor. This would totally legitamize the Master Scout pre-req, and would give an under-powered elite combat class an edge we have been lacking since defenses were nerfed in for everyone else.

Will these stupid ONLY BH NEED MANDO ARMOR noobs ever shut the heck up!? Mandalorians werent BOUNTY HUNTERS, they were mercinaries/commando (not like the ingame professions) only the exiles and or leftovers became bh. It should be available to everyone.

Who cares if Mandalorians we'ren't Bounty Hunters? I'm well aware of that fact, guy. Continuity is already shot, so give the MBHs a break. Let me guess. You're one of those TKA/Rifleman/Commando flavor of the month idiots that would cry if he couldn't wear Mandalorian armor if it was only for MBH, aren't you? There's a bunch of new armor types in the works, and from what little hints the DEVs have dropped about it, it looks like armor certs are on thier way in as part of the combat balance. Gives us the Mando as a reward for the 217 skill points we burn for no defense and "ok" offense.

Go to hell If I was a FoTM MBH wouldnt be a problem for me to master so I would have no reason to complain.

Mandalorians were not Bounty Hunters They were a elite armory who had a strict code. So in a since everyone should be able to wear this armor. So get off the Bounty Hunter only. As for a Star Wars feel. Is there even a Star Wars feel here? If there is let me know where to go so I can feel it too. For the Record I'm going up the Armorsmith tree now. Make the armor drop from loots. Not a Schematic that has items that can't be found or looted to craft it.
