Thread: About Friday Features
I would like to see a feature on successful guilds on different servers. Take a guild, run down their mission statement... take a look at what some of the key players do, and talk about guild objectives as a whole. Outline some of the funny moments and events that are offered up...
You could also do a feature on the different professions. I know that 99% of the people on this board would love to see some kind of list regarding the issues with their profession and how they are being addressed.. and an eta.
Multi targtet pistol shot being an example. It doesn't do anything usefull and still sits in the master box. And it misfires half the time. I would LOVE a response on that.
thanks
i think what you should do for a friday feature is have a shop listing for each galaxy on people with shopsand tell them what profession they are andif they are guilded and there faction standing. So Basicaly a phone book
Great way to advertise without doing much
and
show the devs hard at work and have TH fill out TPS reports hah j/k
I really like that idea for raw numbers.....
I want to see more of the numbers behind stuff like weapon speed. No where in game does it explain what weapons speed 2.1 means and how my skill for pistol speed affects it.
Numbers of what people do is cool too, how many imps are there really? They keep crying there are 2:1 rebs to imps some people say 5:1, We really want to know the facts ![]()
Numbers Numbers Numbers ![]()
How about a "Dev State of the Profesion" post for each profesion in alphabetical order.
Doesn't have to be long but it would give some feedback to the professions that get no, or very little Dev comunication, like Chef's and Droid engineer.
This could back up the corespondence process which still seams stalled, speeaking as a Chef our rep has had very little info from the private forums or at least very little he could pass on to us.
This would fill up 33 weeks worth.![]()
I wouldnt mind to take a look behind the doors of your server farm.
How many servers are actually needed to run a single Galaxy ?
What kind of HW do you use ?
How big are the databases ?
What about backup System and how to they interact ?
Basically everything that is not security related.
Hehe i hear the Network Admin in me speaking ![]()
Point and case, the GCW stuff, over a month ago, and I still can't successfully capture the NPC base south of the Lake Retreat.
I'd rather not know at all, then have something cool dangled out of reach, also make sure the guide makes sense if you post one, the group FAQ that reccomended taking Chefs, but not Squad Leaders is definately unique, but not what I'd call successful.
how boutthe devs make a short film of their jedi Impressions like star wars kid or Art of the Saber?
have jedi fights in the office or in the parking lot to have fun and show the community the funny side of the developers. Use Special effects and send it to the force.net fanfilms
Thunderheart vs. Q-3p0 in a lightsaber fight.
or Holocron VS. Shug Nix?
Two ideas:
One, i would personally love to get some fun technical facts about the game...be it in a friday feature or just in general. LIke what type of servers do you use, how many servers per galaxy, how many servers do you have just lying around the office as back ups, how big is server side program, how big is the database for each galaxy, etc.
Second, a neat friday feature would be really really prelimary look at the Space Expansion. I know your just in the begining stages, but it'd be neat if there was anything to tell us.
On a side/off topic note, just want to use this time to pat you Q, Thunderheart and the entire development team on the back. I know you guys get a lot of crap on these boards but you guys have really made an amazing game and seem to be working yourselves to death trying to keep it amazing. Thank you for all the work and effort you put in, keep it up ![]()
