Thread: IT 7-13: New Mounts
The bantha speed adjustment in today's Test Center update didn't seem to have much of a tangible impact. The bantha is slower than a player on foot. Seriously... we had a little race today, and the guy on foot won. This makes the bantha neat and Star Warsy, but worse than useless.
If you dismount the bantha and have it follow you, though, it moves at a much more acceptable speed. It should move at that speed when you're riding it.

There are non-handler versions of all mount types currently on live. There does seem to still be a problem with spawns of Motley Kaadu and Plodding Falumpasets though, at least on Corbantis. You can still get level 10 Kaadu from Bio-Engineers...don't know if they can provide a Falumpaset/Brackaset model.

I agree with Trayson... the cu pa looks great at normal running speed and while galloping.
Thank you very much. It still waddles if you hold down Shift to walk, but I don't think anyone will notice (since the walking speed for all mounts is rather slow and thus something most people never use). It waddles once or twice as you start moving (or come to a stop), but that doesn't really detract.
The cu pa does stilllook like it's swimming in Fast Forward to me. Not sure what accounts for the difference in observations between Trayson and myself. Possibly not quite as rapid-looking, but definitely not natural or comfortable.
Bantha looks great all around. Didn't notice any changes to its pet tricks, but the normal running speed is beautiful.
The bantha makes no footfall sounds while running, though.
The "Use Ranged Attack" command does nothing for me. My tamed-in-the-wild blurrg never uses his ranged attack, whether I order him to or not. I never got a system message as indicated in today's patch notes, either. My Bio-Engineered cu pa (with "Ranged Attack: Yes" in the datapad) doesn't even have "Use Ranged Attack" as a training option.
Pets that have been trained as mounts still won't follow their masters. Possibly related: They still start out by laying down and then immediately standing up after being called from the Datapad (incidentally, you can't mount a pet if it's laying down).
The changes to the cu pa idle animations appear to have been successful. It will still look over its left shoulder from time to time, but it no longer stretches its head up in the air for me.
