It looks as though I missed Runesabre's "thank you pass" through these threads, so I don't know whether my reports will be heard, but I have the answer on the /MOVE command problem.
Despite what the in-game syntax message says, thereal syntax for /move is
/move [objectname] forward|back|up|down 1-500
If you specify the object name (e.g., Bookcase), that object will be moved, even if you have something else targeted. If you don't specify an object name, your currently targeted object (if you have one) will be moved.
The problem occurs when there is an object within your targetable world whose name conflicts with one of the four direction keywords. And the classic example, most commonly biting us in the keister right now, is theFaction Base. If your city has one, it is probably named
Forward Outpost
and guess what. When you sit in your house and type /move forward 50, it assumes you meant the base. Which indeed is not in your house.
The test is this. Stand in your house and type
/target forward
If you find something targeted - no matter what it is - then /move forward isn't going to work the way you want.
The exact same thing is true for back, up, down and (for /rotate) left and right.
The workaround for now is to move stuff by name when the conflict exists. My alt in Bespine was able to
/move inert forward 50
and put some good Polymer on the shelf.
PS Editing doesn't work for usin this Forum because you apparently need the create_thread privilege. That might be a Forum bug.

Armor Chestplates cannot be moved down from their initial drop point. I havent been able to /move forward for a month i think...
I'd guess this has to do with the fact a chestplate drops at chest height... the colision with the floor won't let it move any lower. I'd personaly put this as a "non issue" that can be worked around

TC only bug: /move forwardusing the command lineSTILL creates a "That object is not in the building" error message. This error message is received on /move up now also.
This also exists on live, I have not been able to use /move forward in my house since publish 5.
This error does not happen for me when I am in a structure that I have placed.
It only happens for me in structures that I am on the admin list.
Which makes it fun decorating other peoples houses.....
Someone else placed my house, but it was transferred to my lots, I declared residence, and the original placer was taken off admin shortly after publish 5.

Using move up from the command line I was able to move an object through the roof of a merchant tent. Significantly through the room so that when I left the tent with the object still targetedthe target was hovering well above the top of the tent. I wasn't able to duplicate this inside a regular structure like a house.

In the side rooms of a Medium Naboo, in the odd shaped corner where the ceiling hangs down lower than the rest of the room, it *is* possible to get items to clip through that portion of the ceiling using /move up, but not so far as to where you can not retrieve the item at least

That might be a server specific bug, I'm not sure how that would happen but i have no trouble with /move forward on Tarquinas server.
Must be. I used move Forward on Sat the 29th on the command line without problem.

I just wanted to add that after I heardKarquile's theory (see page 1)in the test center chat, I tried his /targ forward suggestion. I am indeed in range of a Forward Outpost (Skystone) and this likely explains why my /move forward command always returns the error message that the object is not inside the house.
Dev's please give this a closer look.
Thanks,

In the Dragon's Breath Pub in Dragon's Call I am unable to drop and vertically move small glasses or pastebreads. I am able to move them horizontally.

The /move up problem in Dragon's Call is the Forward bases again. /move up conflicts with the uplink terminal. If you move to a distance past the draw-in point of the base (about 520m), /move up works just fine. It gives a different error message than /move forward because the uplink terminal only exists for 2 hours a day, but there's apparently still a placeholder there for the command to conflict with.

So again, just a reminder that the workaround is to NAME the object:
/move glass up 20
As long as you know this trick, you should be able to move anything you're allowed to move. (They should still fix the targeting syntax.)

Lots of people buy furniture that isn't custom made. Often it's pumped out of a factory and the items have the same name. What happens with /move <item name> <up/down/forward/back> <amount> when you have two bookcases with the name Bookcase? Two couches with a name of Couch? I remember in a Star Wars MUD I played a long time ago you couldmanipulate various items by using itemname.1 or itemname.2. Is a similar command available? Does it move the last placed item or first? Could someone check this, please?

When placing the huge blue sunrise under the planet picture in my PA hall (mall) in the second room on the right (Tat PA Hall.. long thin side room), the painting could not be raised off the floor. I just kept getting the message "The command is "/moveFurniture UP / DOWN / FORWARD / BACKWARD <distance>", which was exactly how I was typing it. Basically, I could not raise the painting off the floor.

If you specify an object by name and there is more than one object with that name within range, it takes the closest one. I tested this with a room full of meeting chairs.
TouYuan - honest, try /move painting up 20, I'll bet you five bucks it works!
