Thread: Jedi Feedback: Jedi Force Ranking (FRS)
It looks as though it's going to take forever to get anywhere in the FRS and I'm up for a challenge but not something that takes this long to gain one level as on tc2 I'm only knight and looks as if I'd never get the xp to rank up.
I'm not looking forward to it being just another "job" to maintain rank in the new system where I'd have to devote hours on end everyday to keep my position. That's just not the way it should be.

Well I am on tc2 , Rank 7 Jedi Counsler, while I had enough xp to gain the next lvl multiple times I attempted to get the empty seat at rank 8, i was always defeated by people, who had friends higher up, which kept me from advancing my char.
My personal opinon is that no other player should have direct control over another players advancement. Also council members have the right to demote others, this is just leading to a bunch of problems. I had already decided not to take my jedi knight, because the trials are not worth it, jedi should have an instanced cave that they must do alone, not take a group to go camp heavily camped spots or hope they get to a spawn that rarley spawns first.
Had I been going for knight the FRS would have discouraged me away. People that I know and myself found it more frusterating, then anything. I keep hoping jedi will become fun, starting to look like that wont happen.

Sounds like with the right folks, I could corner the council and pretty much prevent anyone else to get i n.
It is the end game for Powergamers. Casual players will never albe able to reach high levels of the Jedi ranks. Larger PA's will DOMINATE enclave. It is clear that this design is being put in place not because it is the best solution for the community as a whole but rather a "moving target" for the PvP powergamers that have gone though all of the content that SWG has to offer.

Ok I play over 60 hours a week and I have done everything there is to do. MMM what to do, what to do... I know , I will become the
Casual Gamer Experiance:
Cool, I love Star Wars and Star Wars Galaxies will let me live my dream! Excellent, I can become a Jedi!Mmmm, itsays here that I can earn a seat on the Jedi council, oh man that would be great! A year later..... Rank 689 oh heaven help me! I cant spend 2 hours posting messages on my PAs website and give away 100k of resources and join in on all the Raids like L33TjEdEYE does I have to WORK!!! AGGGGG!!! /quitdream
Get it!
Please please please please get it.
I can see how guild's of jedi will only vote for their friends to gain the next rank and as such stop others from getting a chance to advance.
You should remove the ability to vote a person up.
I have been a victim of blocking already... even tho I have a ton of frp and my showpvp status is higher than most.
Maybe you can compare showpvp and frp to decide who advances to the next rank.
Thx

/agree completely.
the FRS, particularly for the Light Jedi are not worth it. You are allways Overt, allways a bad idea in my book. thus you have no choice but to be in the PVP. I was elavated by staff to try it out (coevue) on TC2. and within a couple of hours I got so frustrated with it I quit the Enclave. I got jumped by a Dark Jedi oin Moenia when I was trying to help out a fellow Rebel. Personally I don't see the rationallity for being overt. I mean.. particularly for a Rebel, shouldn't we be hiding out and not revealing we're Jedi?
Next thing is, to get ahead in the FRS, we are required to go out and kill dark Jedi. Ok.. that just so goes against the Jedi code it's not funny.
the Jedi Code for Reminder BTW is This :
There is no emotion; there is peace. There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no passion, there is serenity. There is no chaos, there is harmony. There is not death, there is the Force.
As you can see, Light Side FRS totally goes against the Jedi Code, the basic tenet of the Jedi. Personally I'd rather see something along the line of a Jedi mission terminal, where you are called to do things to help the populace, with a special XP called Light side points.. Even have the Jedi doing theme park missions with LS points generated there would be an improvement over the current situation.
I currently do not have a Jedi outside TC2. With the current system however I would not wish to make a character higher then Padawan. shame really because I was getting into some of the things..

Yup, the FRS system is just an open invitation to ganking in it's current implementation.
I was also boosted to the the enclave ranks, but as a 9th Level Dark Jedi Oppressor, I could not survive against anyone with a Master LS/Master Defender build.
Of course, not once did I ever face a single Light Jedi in 1-on-1 fights, it was allways me against 5 or more.
As soon as I can get back in to TC2 I am dropping out of the enclave, since there is no fun to be had in it, and the force ranking mods are pretty much useless (except for the increased force pool).
