From what I've found on tc2 as far as gaining rank it's very difficult as I can't do much dmg to another jedi who's master defense, the fights seem to take forever. My force resists states seem to be ineffective as everything that's thrown at me lands. I fought yesterday was killed with ease while I could do no dmg to my opponent. Upon my death I lost all the force rank xp I had earned so I'm back at zero (I think I had 300 or so) and 200k jedi xp for the death. I was really looking forward to the FRS as I'm a 4444 guardian on live, but with the xp losses the inability to kill other jedi as it is now on tc2 and the amount of xp gained for FRS, I am not.

It looks as though it's going to take forever to get anywhere in the FRS and I'm up for a challenge but not something that takes this long to gain one level as on tc2 I'm only knight and looks as if I'd never get the xp to rank up.

I'm not looking forward to it being just another "job" to maintain rank in the new system where I'd have to devote hours on end everyday to keep my position. That's just not the way it should be.

My personal opinon is that no other player should have direct control over another players advancement. Also council members have the right to demote others, this is just leading to a bunch of problems. I had already decided not to take my jedi knight, because the trials are not worth it, jedi should have an instanced cave that they must do alone, not take a group to go camp heavily camped spots or hope they get to a spawn that rarley spawns first.

Had I been going for knight the FRS would have discouraged me away. People that I know and myself found it more frusterating, then anything. I keep hoping jedi will become fun, starting to look like that wont happen.

Go ahead and flame me.

Sounds like with the right folks, I could corner the council and pretty much prevent anyone else to get i n.

took me about 2hrs to gain 7k FRS xp (as rank 9, master LS , master def ) must have partaken in the killing of 50-100 people .. I kid u not

took me about 10min to lose 20k FRS xp :>

if they penalties for death are so high, then u will rarely find jedi taking any risks in combat, ie they will never fight alone .. and will never fight unless the feel they're guaranteed to win .. eg gankfest 2367, if u are killed my multiple people u should certainly lose a much reduced amount, so the benefits / risk of largescale combat like that is balanced, but if anyone wants progress in the FRS system, they have to duel

Bug: I vote, and still get e-mails telling me I didn't vote. At sentinal level I am losing 900 FRSxp each vote cycle . I tried relogging to see if it fixed. that didn't work. If the server reset fixes it I will let you know.

Bug: If the server drops or is reset durning the voting process the person with the most votes does not get the option to advance. Have repeated this bug 4 times.

With the currentvoting system I could lock upenclave ranking with one or twoguilds. Send me a tell or pm TH it's a xploit and I won't be posting it here.

Can we make the inner enclave soundproof? At the moment anyone could "spy" on a high level meeting if people are using the inner circle.

Yesterdays event was a blast, thanks. I was to busy fighting though to write down numbers gained. The 200k xp loss a death is a bit harsh . Perhaps if it was capped at some point.

Overall I like the feel of the ranking system and the general feel of the enclaves. WhatI don't like is the need to be popular to gain entry, the ranks are for pvp. Those with a higher pvp rating should get rank before those with "friends"

This should be a game..FUN, you know, remember games? Fun to play, easy to enjoy? This isn't a game..it's work..REAL work, that we have to pay SOE for That's right! we could to PAY to give our hard earned time to something that isn't really all that fun because the negative "benefits" far outweigh any chance of having fun. I feel this is the end...really..

This designis making thegame experance a completely ONE SIDED experiance.

It is the end game for Powergamers. Casual players will never albe able to reach high levels of the Jedi ranks. Larger PA's will DOMINATE enclave. It is clear that this design is being put in place not because it is the best solution for the community as a whole but rather a "moving target" for the PvP powergamers that have gone though all of the content that SWG has to offer.

Hardcore Gamer Experiance:
Ok I play over 60 hours a week and I have done everything there is to do. MMM what to do, what to do... I know , I will become the

highest Jediin the enclave! Let me make a post in my PA's website first... cool we have 23 jedi as it stands and since I have been here for the past year and everyone respects me I should be able to get the needed votes....

Casual Gamer Experiance:
Cool, I love Star Wars and Star Wars Galaxies will let me live my dream! Excellent, I can become a Jedi!Mmmm, itsays here that I can earn a seat on the Jedi council, oh man that would be great! A year later..... Rank 689 oh heaven help me! I cant spend 2 hours posting messages on my PAs website and give away 100k of resources and join in on all the Raids like L33TjEdEYE does I have to WORK!!! AGGGGG!!! /quitdream

Get it!
Please please please please get it.

I agree, devs need to seriously rework XP for killing non-Jedis or SWG is going to be a Jedi gankfest. Unless you are some kind of Fencer stacker you have no chance against a Knight, Jedis are supposed to bring more to the CGW, not take it away. Mark my words, if you keep it so non-Jedi gives like 200 and Jedi 400 no one is going to want to declare. You'll have jedi camping cities, that's about it. I don't think you devs know what you are doing, go to AH on any server and check out the averge skills/gear of the players there. Most just want to run some missions and get a rank, that's right your CASUAL player (aka, majority of your income). No one likes getting hit for 1k post reduction unresisted damage, if people have zero chance they will just stop pvping. If your casual player can't even play their 45 minutes a day in AH without getting ganked 5x by roaming jedi they will quit.

What you should do is give like 500 for ranked jedi kills, maybe 200 for normal jedi (get real, BHs stand no chance vs most Jedi, once you get saberblock = dead BH, get high level jedi to police the low level jedi), and 10 for normal players. If you do this then maybe you will be closer to the goal of adding jedi vs jedi battles and making the game exciting, not having Jedi camp newbies everywhere.

The way that FRSXP is distributed also needs to be looked it. As mentioned above, some trees/templates will simply get you nowhere. If you keep it how it is now you might as rename the "Force Ranking System" to the "Master Lightsaber Ranking System" because that's what it will be filled with. Power tree is ineffectual compared to LS, Healing and Enhance give you no FRS XP at all and Defense everyone will have a bit of I'd assume. You introduced 5 trees to add diversity to the system, the current system does not support this. Do what other MMORPGs have done, split XP equallybetween the party so that healers/tankers/nukers/etc all get credit for their part in the battle.

The main problem I have found with the ranking system is that people can deliberatly block you from advancing.

I can see how guild's of jedi will only vote for their friends to gain the next rank and as such stop others from getting a chance to advance.

You should remove the ability to vote a person up.

I have been a victim of blocking already... even tho I have a ton of frp and my showpvp status is higher than most.

Maybe you can compare showpvp and frp to decide who advances to the next rank.

Thx
K.

/agree completely.

the FRS, particularly for the Light Jedi are not worth it. You are allways Overt, allways a bad idea in my book. thus you have no choice but to be in the PVP. I was elavated by staff to try it out (coevue) on TC2. and within a couple of hours I got so frustrated with it I quit the Enclave. I got jumped by a Dark Jedi oin Moenia when I was trying to help out a fellow Rebel. Personally I don't see the rationallity for being overt. I mean.. particularly for a Rebel, shouldn't we be hiding out and not revealing we're Jedi?

Next thing is, to get ahead in the FRS, we are required to go out and kill dark Jedi. Ok.. that just so goes against the Jedi code it's not funny.

the Jedi Code for Reminder BTW is This :

There is no emotion; there is peace. There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no passion, there is serenity. There is no chaos, there is harmony. There is not death, there is the Force.

As you can see, Light Side FRS totally goes against the Jedi Code, the basic tenet of the Jedi. Personally I'd rather see something along the line of a Jedi mission terminal, where you are called to do things to help the populace, with a special XP called Light side points.. Even have the Jedi doing theme park missions with LS points generated there would be an improvement over the current situation.

I currently do not have a Jedi outside TC2. With the current system however I would not wish to make a character higher then Padawan. shame really because I was getting into some of the things..

Yup, the FRS system is just an open invitation to ganking in it's current implementation.

I was also boosted to the the enclave ranks, but as a 9th Level Dark Jedi Oppressor, I could not survive against anyone with a Master LS/Master Defender build.

Of course, not once did I ever face a single Light Jedi in 1-on-1 fights, it was allways me against 5 or more.

As soon as I can get back in to TC2 I am dropping out of the enclave, since there is no fun to be had in it, and the force ranking mods are pretty much useless (except for the increased force pool).

I am somewhat shocked noone could forsee the issues that have already risen from the light jedi way of advancment. It has succeeded in disbanding a very well known rebel guild and destroyed a town due to every single jedi leaving to go to dark. Not sure if this was intentional or not but from a players stand point it isnt very well thought out. Ow well two more accounts cancelled that were really hopeing for something decent to come in publish 9 and 10, i guess it has its good points but in a game were relationships and friendships mean as much as game play, its yet another nail in your coffin.

Hopefully someone will be smart enough to realize the error and correct it before you lose to many subscriptions. For me i feel it is just another in a long line of not listening to your customers and with great joy i bid you good bye.

After finally getting bumped into FRS since I could never find and kill all the right mobs for the Knight Trials, I sat for over 3 hours in the enclave voting terminal with 20+ other Knights waiting for a Rank 1 spot to open. Then I went back to live servers to feel productive again.

I am not a jedi yet but from reading all of the posts that are in this thread it sounds like to me that the new ranking system simply isn't going to work. To sum this up it sounds like if you go "Rebel" jedi if you are most likely not one of the "good old boys" then you are not going to get into the council. I haven't read to much about the "Imp" jedi side so I won't comment on that. But it also sounds like the amount xp needed to retain the position you get is just out rageous. I don't think this new system is going to work at all especially if this is the way it is going to be.

I am pretty much a power gamer and mark my words, if this goes live within 3 months the system will be gone for what the devs say is a "revamp" because the average person that plays the game will NEVER have a chance at getting to this level with the amount of time they put into the game.

Please correct me if what I wrote is wrong about what I am reading.
