TH,

What is the "compensation" method for those of us that have completed multiple masteries in our search for force sensitivy before Pub 10?

It's a simple question; please answer it.

We've been talking about that quite a bit over the past few days. As soon as things are nailed down and once we get through the combat information, I'll be able to post regarding whats going on.

So basically you promised people they would get credit, with out even know how you were going to do, or as we now find out, not even knowing exactly what the new system will be? Wow, that's risky.

SOOOOOOOOOOO Glad I didn't ruin my char and waiste my time doing any hologinding.

In regards on how to give credit for those who have been mindlessly grinding away such as myself, is to at least give credit for the actual professions that were needed for our individual selfs progression, for example:

First Holocron - Master Merchant ------------------------------------------------> Skip one of the Trials

Second Holocron - Master Droid Engineer ------------------------------------> Skip second part of Trials

Third Holocron - Master Architect -----------------------------------------------> Skip third part of Trials

Fourth Holocron - Master Carbineer --------------------------------------------> Skip Fourth part of Trials

Fifth Holocron - Silent started RANDOM mastering of Professions ------> Give no credit as we chose to proceed hap hazardly and took a gamble.

This could be something as simple as giving us an option when we visit a particular quest NPC to allow us to proceed with credit to the next NPC quest, or to actually do the quest, for those of us who would enjoy roleplaying the process thru, which is more realistic in the first place.

I think giving credit to those of us who have done 20+ random professions would not be fair, its like your paying us for doing something that was not worth anything. We were gambling, and we lost, its life, so why pay off a gambler. If we had opened the slot with the right profession before these Patch 9 and Patch 10 then we won our bet, we beat the odds.

Though I have grinded over 40 professions between 3 different accounts, all I can say is I took a gamble and lost. I knew the first few Jedi on our Flurry server and was very envious, but I think earning my Jedi through the Jedi trials will give more meaning and respect than simply me randomly grinding professions any longer.

I just hope like others have stated that the Trials are soloable, by those who are masters in their professions. I really would rather see thinking quests and puzzles similiar maybe in some respects to the Hero of Tatooine Quest, though not with the complete randomness of spawn locations. I don't thinking testing my tracking ability for random spawns is a true test of a Jedi.

In anycase my two cents.

Jedi knights should be able to take on and kill several, even many normal players, but...

they should not be able to run around a busy city (ie: Cornett) on a busy night and wack people at random while being unattackable. This happened to my brother recently whit no TEF, just a Dark Jedi Knight being chased around by two other Jedi. It was a circus. I can't wait till the new unlocking patch. Maybe the public Jedi circus will leave town by then. Make them attackable please. Lightsaber use = unwanted attention right?

As for the hologrinders that are mad because they trashed a character trying for FS, well it was a bad system and that is why. Be happy it's gone now.

I didn't read through all 11 pages... but the truth of the matter can be found here:

Basically they haven't even figured out what they are going to change - no one has started programming anything.

We have all been basically lied too and screwed over pretty nicely - and no "taking 7 months to accomplish nothing" is not "taking time to do it right".

Just read Blackmans interview. This game and its publisher can kiss my wookie. Since the fourm posters are such a small section of the community as he puts it, and most people in the game want JTL over fixes, then this game deserves the people who stick with it.

Happy trails to you, untill we meet again. Happy trails, to you, some words, I don't know, happy trails to you.....

Well, heres the answer.

if you unlocked before publish 9, when publish 10 rolls out, you get a nifty set of force sensitive boxes to choose from.

You choose 6 lines which cost 4 points each, then you are considered a Padawan.

I unlocked 3 hours before publish 9 and when I did the conversion, i had those plus could choose one novice skill box( I chose Lightsaber of course)

And in answer as to what skills beyond that you will get for grinding you little heart out before the publish to "make up" for all your work.....zip.

you got your Jedi, be happy with that, if not...well just spend the next few days learning that your going to kill 4k mobs for a looooong time before you move up in the new skill sets.

I went from zero to over 2 mill exp since publish 9 and its the 22nd of july...it aint fast or easy...but im doing it.

and i play about 1 buff session a day...average

and follow the rules...dont flash your Jediness around, i have been in hiding since publish 9, and have had good luck so far...either the BH's dont want to waste thier time with me, or im very lucky

probably the first one

TH yet again I'll ask of you:

What about armor resists for Jedi? We were initially informed that our tunics would have resists similar to the high end composite after the combat balance. You are contradicting yourself in that armor is not a necessity due to the fact you just pushed 2 more sets of armor onto Test Center for Wookiees. They could pick up innate defences as well but armor was felt as a requirement for them. Where's ours?

Why would you complain about that? You have force armor, you can heal all your own states, and your lightsaber blocks all the ranged classes. Every non jedi can only geta shield generator with no more than 45% resist to lightsaber, and its the only thing we have in the entire game with resist, and not many people even use those. So you don't have an argument.

Hi TH, first I'd like to say that I'm really excited about Pub 10. I started playing this game after pub 9 came out, and I'm excited about playing a jedi soon. I've been reading the posts a lot and I read that there are people that are concerned about the professions they've mastered and giving them up completely to become a jedi. People that master a profession get badges saying that they have mastered it, dont they? Well here's an idea, how about after you acquire your master's badge if you decide to get rid of those skills to become jedi (or anything else for that matter) since you have the badge if you ever want to go back to your previous profession, how about the exp points received (for example medical experience if you have the mastered medic badge) get doubled, that way returning to your previous prof is not the grind that it was before, and it gives you a feeling that you didnt completely forget your skills you just have to "repolish" them

Since Pub 10 is now hitting TC I assume you should be able to fill us in now? There is a large segment of the player community that is basing how/if they will play this game on this information, please don't torture us anymore.

I'm still kinda confused about one thing even after reading all three archives. If you unlock between publish 9 and publish 10 will your main slot be FS or will you get a new slot to be FS like prepatch 9?

Just some of my thoughts on possible missions.

Degoba, Korriban, Lost Planet of the Jedi: Depending on what side of the force you wish to travel down, there should be a way to travel to a minni planet that works similar to the Corvette mission. Degoba, Korriban, and Lost Planet of the Jedi are the first to mind. There a jedi trial might take place. This would make it so that where ever these quests are to take place won’t suddenly be teaming with players, making players have to wait in line to finish there quest. The quests should scale in difficulty depending on how many people come in a group. Or the trials could keep changing from one to the other, when on a planet dedicated to the other side of the force a player could have to battle against the lingering spirits of the masters there.

Trail:
1. Feel the force - Learning to feel the invisible force that binds all things in the universe together is should be the first trial of becoming a jedi

a. In both the books and games, there are references to wellsprings of the force, where the force is very strong. The Valley of the Jedi on the lost planet of the Jedi, the Jedi temple on Coruscant, ext. The first mission or missions could be to travel to some of these locations. Once there they might have to meditate, battle a special mob, or something else. It could be that they have to do some missions for an NPC to learn where the spot is.

b. There are also special items that have special force bonds. Old jedi light sabers, holocrons, ext. Like in the Jedi Knight games some none force sensitive people were infused with force ability through special crystals. There may be a quest to gather certain items, ones that have this strong connection to the force.

2. Trust in the force – The first thing a Jedi needs to do once they can feel the force is learn to trust it. To this end, there are several possible quest possibilities.

a. Navigation of a temple with out the use of the map. At spits in the paths the perspective Jedi would have to wait for guidance. A wrong turn could take them into a trap or some thing else deadly. At the end of the maze might be ancient text that gives new insight, perhaps the code of the jedi or something.

b. Opening Ancient chests. There could be a room full of chests and the perspective Jedi has to find the correct one to open. This would be a game similar to hot and cold, where as he moves towards a bad chest he would get a faint warning and proper chests he’d get encouragement. Inside could be light saber components, or some other jedi items.
