No answer yet? No statement? No common courtesy of at the very LEAST "We are listening to what you are saying"??
SOE, we are your customers. Devs, we pay your bills.
Say something. Say it soon, or more fingers will hit cancel - not because of bugs and failed promises, but because you simply do not know how to provide customer service.

LOL! OMG that is too funny! In all seriousness, that is the most damaging thing I think you could have done...KUDOS TO YOU! I tip my hat and /bow deeply showing great respect to the person who thought of that!
I don't care what happens now BTW, I'm just hanging around watching everyone kick the sh1t out ofthis dead horse!

I'm no expert but am I the only one who thinks anything that generates 106 pages of feedback (just to this thread and the locked one) might require re-evaluation...?

You know, there are a lot of different perspectives to be had here. I see that most posters feel, maybe rightly so, that they're being screwed. But let's step back a bit and evaluate, hmm?
First off, Thunderheart. I don't believe for a minute that he's been lying with everything he's been saying about the combat revamp. Having been in similar situations myself, I would tend to believe that maybe he's been lied to, and, believeing that he was told the truth, repeated those lies here. Heck, or maybe even those people who fed him the info about the CR were lied to themselves... no telling how far it went back. My point is, let's not villify this poor guy just for doing his job. Let's instead assume that he's learned his lesson and from now on will take what others withinthe SOE regeime say with the appropriate grains of salt.
Second off, the term "game breaking". I played Asheron's Call 2. If you played that game, you know *exactly* what a broken game is. SWG is imperfect. But it's not nearly the piece of utterly uselesscrap that AC2 was (maybe is, dunno). Some of you very vocal folks will drop because of this news, and if the game isn't fun for you and you don't believe it will improve quickly enough for you, then that is exactly what you should do. But there is more to SWG than PvP. And many of those other aspects of the game are working quite nicely, thank you, and probably will continue to do so. Should SOE be concerned that you're leaving? Absolutely. Should they panic? Probably not, based upon what I would think the numbers exiting are.
And thus ends my defense of SOE and TH.
There clearly ARE problems internal to SOE. Problems of prioritization, primarily. Problems which probably stem directly or indirectly from the fact that they're a public company and, as public companies are wont to do, they're going after new revenue streams. Why? Because generating new revenue tends to drive value into stocks better than does keeping existing revenue. Why? Well, I don't know; that seems really stupid to me, but I'm not the one setting the stock values, am I?
Anyway, if that's really the case here - that stupidity over stock pricing is driving this, then you have managers involved at SOE who are so enthralled with their quarterly bonuses this quarter that they'll make the stupid call and sacrifice next years' bonuses entirely.
With management that supid, I'd say the game is fooked...

The problem for me is that the other systems DON'T work fine. I personally do not pvp. Why? It sucks. There is no fun to be had for someone that just masters a profession. But on top of that: pve sucks horribly. Everyone has god mode...I should just play a single player game. Crafting: Pretty good....but mind-numbingly boring and time consuming to get materials. 10Mins for a shuttle: Just plain stupid...Waiting in line for buffs: Stupid. Waiting for mind enhancements: stupid. Waiting just to do Image Design on someone: REALLY stupid. Trying to make Image Designers better and just screwing them up more: Stupid.
Anyway...what makes this stuff worse is that the fixes keep getting put off for really stupid stuff...I.E. Image Designer nerf, DE "fixes", Commando nerf, CH nerf, etc. In favor of working on Jedi and Space combat. So I agree the game if borked, big time. But I really don't think all that much works as much as you think.

This is my first post on the topic...I just found out yesterday about all of this...
Unfortuantely, I think there will be no direct response...to this or any other post regarding this issue. The only thing we can do is choose to play another game, and put the warning out to others that although this game has potential, the lies and deceit on the part of the powers that be are killing this game. The bean counters are going to look at one thing...revenue. And by the time they see the problem, it will be too lateto save the game.

I'm sorry, TH. I've always respected you. But SWG will never be the "finest MMORPG ever". If you'd like to know why, how about you read some of the posts from community veterans, instead of pushing back what has been promised to us (Smuggler revamp, anyone? How late is that again?) and trying to keep our attention with pretty flashing lights (JTL trailers). Unless SOE seriously gets their act together, JTL will bomb.
I was already on the verge of uninstalling and cancelling my accounts. This post pushed me over the edge. Good riddance.
