A thought.
I think after this latest debacle there should be an elected board of player reps that is included in ALL future discussions about the future of this game, and the patches, AND the expansions. WE AFTER ALL PAY THEIR SALARIES!
I don't mean just correpondents, I mean Duly elected Reps from each server. 1 Rep for every 100 players. This "Congress" if you will, will have the responsibility and duty to act as a go between for SOE and the Customer Base.
That is, IF they listen to us and stop this insanity.
Outside of that, I may start a gaming association within my state that will cover all online games across the spectrum.
We have to start doing something to force these companies to take notice of the players needs and gripes. Far too many times I have seen SOE in particular, other game companies in general, do precisely the same thing. What I would hope for is an organization that is strong enough to "Go on Strike" with it's members and get everyone on it's rolls to boycott a gaming company if they pull horsepoop like this in the future.
I know I'm pipe dreaming, but I would love to see an organization 10k strong suddenly rise up in protest against SOE and cancel all of their accounts at the same time.
Think THAT would get their attention?

I actually quit playing swg a while ago, but this news just serves to confirm the lack of hope that made me give up the game a few weeks past. It's hard to play a game that's fundamentally broken with nothing but a promise from the dev team that 'It will get better'... when you're firmly convinced the dev team is as if not more fundamentally broken as the game.
Just my 2 cents of negative sentiment.

i think we should protest like the wookiee did for their armor, they seemed to listen to that. so since their not listening now we will make them listen. i have 10k on this post get deleted i dont care at least some people will have heard me and maybe the devs will see just how pissed the player are. because out us they woudlnt have a job.

Wow, these devs just don't give a rats a** what their customers think. Thats bad business let me tell ya. Me personally, I think that they need to buck up and read a little bit. I read about three pages of this thread and I started to realize what B/S they serve us on a silver platter. I bet you if the devs were really listening to what we have to say about bugs and our wants/needs we would've already had the Combat Balance, a more in depth Galactic Civil War, Publish 10 would already be out (Which would make me happy considering the fact that I've been wanting to become a Jedi since I started playing, because thats most of their advertisment to draw more players in even though they can't become Jedi, but don't tell them that right?) and not to mention there would be a lot less if notany angry people ranting in this very thread, as well as giving players something to do till Jump to Lightspeed comes out. I really hope the devs catch on to this very hard to grasp concept of listening to your customers, because pretty soon they wont have any left to lie to.

I bet the next announcement will be give us your Top 10 ideas to fix combat balance which i'm really looking forward to and my First and only post to that would be......... GET NEW DEV TEAM TOGETHER THAT WILL LISTEN TO THE PLAYER BASE AND FIX THINGS INSTEAD OF BULLSH!TING ALL THE TIME.
Oh and that does really read the forums instead of asking every month or 2 for our input for fixes for our professions.
KNOCK KNOCK is anyone there
You guys should get down on your knee and say sorry to each and every players for out right lying to them trying to hold things like vet rewards over peoples head so they don't quit and promising even more feature when you bloody well haven't fixed the core game.

I cant say it better than my peers have in these 1800 *edit 2400* posts between the 2 threads. Youve seriously let down the player base Devs. Please close Pandoras Box so we can get back to trying to enjoy this game. Come through with your previous words and focus on the CB and GCW.
Im sure you realized this but just to reiterate: We WONT be buying an expansion to a game we are not happy with now. Im canceling my 2 accounts until we get a Dev response which is concerned with the players rather than the suits.
Your lack of reply in this thread speaks for itself.

I think someone should seriously take this post address over to World of Warcraft's forums to show them what not to do to customers. While they are at it , send this post to gamespy, computer gaming monthly website, gamefaqs.com, and all the rest of popular computer gaming resource pages! If they don't care about customers and keep lying while wasting our money. It's time to show the world...

Fix it first, then and only then will I come back.

Exactly what we all should do joe. My wish is that GI, CGM, and all the rest of the companies get an email from everyone who has posted here. We would be the centerpoint of the gaming community, thats for sure.

So I log on,it's 10:30 EST, I figure, "I'm sure that TH has posted something by now...if not TH, then Q, definitely....well, if not Q, then absolutely JustG....*cough*....right??"
Needless to say, the only name in red today is Pex, about a Fan Fest puzzle or something. Why does the image of Nero playing a violin come to mind?
Devs, you're gonna lose easily 15-20% of your ongoing revenues starting next month. If management understands anything, it's lost revenues. They're gonna want to know why. Use these 100+ pages of posts to convince them otherwise. And if their response is "Bah, they'll all come back after JTL is released", tell them not to bet their TIE-Interceptor on it. Sure, space is intriguing, even tempting, but twitch-based dogfighting will get old quickly without a working ground game to anchor it.
If we don't have SOME response by tomorrow, kiss another 10% of your customers goodbye, easily. The clock is ticking......

If you bought the game and are currently slashing your way through the virtual Star Wars universe, we want to hear about it. Tell us what fantastic adventures you're having at [email protected].
