Thread: The Status of Battlefields

Wish list:


Keep PvE seperate from PvP.

Have instanced PvP battlefieds where you talk to an npc and zone your into your faction safe zone and can duke it out by holding off keep POI / bases.


Each base/poi have an overall effect on the faction for GCW


examples : play Dark Age of Camelot

2004 is almost over.....5 months left to do all that which you promised so long ago....

ok folks, its now july, and still there is no progress on the battlefields. are they going to be fixed and reintroduced? or are they getting scrped? plz make up your minds

shhhhhhhhhhhh dont remind us that one of the major content pieces that was marketed with the orginal launches has remained a nonfunctioning, unsupported feature for the last 9 months.


I am trying to forget that they ever existed. Else, my hopes will get dashed again.


I wish and pray that battlefields will return before JTLS.

yeah i think battlefields could bring back some good wholesomeGCW up in tha house, i never got to play in one before they went down

i think they ahould gone for good, for expamle for pvp, its all done in the streets, alot people i know won't hike all the way to a battlefiled just to pvp...if they are going to stay, make them pve only, like a training ground for pvp or something

I think it's safe to say that TH's promise to develop battlefields will most likely not happen in 2004, since the GCW revamp will not happen until after the Combat Revamp, which will not happen until after JTL. Since the Combat Revamp has been rumored to be put in place around first quarter 2005, it is sad to wonder when they will finally get around tofixing theGCW.


I never used to be an active participant in the GCW. And then I became a BH, and realized that I could have a chance against other players. And then I realized that, apart from protecting a base, or raiding a city on the off chance that there are overts, there really is not support for interaction between the factions. How sad! I think just making a score sheet for each galaxy on how many bases have been up or destroyed, how many overts have died on each side, or something along that for each side to actually fight to win. Making /gcw do something--anything--would be a small start. They're putting in small combat fixes before JTL, couldn't they do that to the GCW too? Okay, rant over.

When i first bought this game, i thought wow this will be fun! I rad about the battlefields and all the proffs, but then i find that the batlefields are gone and some proffs are messed up! Now the GCW revamp wont come until 2005 and that is really annoying, they tried to fix this game gave up and went to JTL. is there ay hop for this game?



Its all fun and games until your incapped by a nuna!

Bah.. I'd really love battlefields to come back.. sure they were buggy to load into with a full team but they were quite pleasant guild outings even in their buggy state..


At least the loading part should be okay now, never had any problems getting a party onto the corvette..

Battle Fields:


They should not be a fixed location!

It should be if there are like 20 overts of reach side in a certain area a battle field should occur untill only one side remains there.


Then huge fp rewards are given to the winner with exp from their weapons...

-But i still believe there should be weapon decay... and for jedis yes perma death


Once a battle begins all members of each faction within a like 1/4 planet map area should get the wp and can decide to go or not... this way you get a ton of people in a battle


If you want to really make it intresting give players looting ability of their fallen opponents... but not untill one side entirely wins... this gives more incentive for pvp battling then just faction stuff (of which thier is very little)
