When will block EVER be fixed for rifleman and pike? Everytime i do block, which is rare, i'm still taking damage and my armor is still getting hit, Its been a VERY long time, and with all the little pushes and fixes for things, do you think this could be adressed at all?

Actually block is designed only to stop 50% of the damage so yes you will still get hit and yes you still will take damage . This is designed behaviour

Yes, Am interes... I mean, Am sure there are those of us who would be interested in what the current number of actively players are at these days. Am very certain that the numbers are depressing and not excitin' as made out to be.

But should such a poll be put in use, we would only see a percentage with no hard numbers...

I'll bet the NPC's revamp comes before the smuggler "revamp".

Anyone who works on the smuggler gets the Jimmy Hoffa treatment within a few days of saying, "hey. there is a problem in the smuggler proffession. how about we look into that?" Then that person dissappears, and is burried in a field behind SOE HQ!

So the smuggler's get the shaft once again? Good thing my account is up on the 16th. I won't be renewing it, and I won't be buying JTL. I no longer see the point supporting a company that is going to treat it's customers like **edit** over and over again.

Check out the new TC updates, in those, the doctors are getting more stuff, yet the smugglers could have been given a new spice that could compete. Or maybe fix something, or add a special. But no, because the smuggler is just a tool. Wait no, a tool gets used, we haven't even gotten that much. The smuggler just doesn't get noticed, GreenMarine WAS working with us, even said we would see him every week. When was his last post by the way?

Hasta la vista Haden Blackman, and remember, I won't be the last.

Let me use the automobile industry as an analogy for how alot of us feel right now.

You go out and lease the brand new car SWG that is the hot car on the street right now. While driving your newly leased car you start to find things wrong with it. The tires on the car are all different sizes, your seats don't adjust the way you were told they would, it doesn't seem to accelerate as fast as you would like, etc. You decide to take it into the shop and have a mechanic look it over. While you are waiting they mechanic comes in and tells you you have a 4 cylinder car when you are supposed to have a 6 cylinder car, among other things. So off you go back to the dealership where you leased it and tell you that they will look into it. They tell you they have some performance upgrades they will install free of charge as soon as they have time. Well after following up for months they tell you that they could install the performance upgrades but because the rest of the car wasn't made to handle it right now they are going to have to install a whole new engine along with all the needed subcomponents to make sure it will operate properly so it will be a few more months. 6 months after you this started this fiasco with the dealership you get a letter in the mail. You open the letter and to your dismay they are telling you that they are delaying thedelivery scheduleon the engine and subcomponents because they havea new car coming out that they want you to buy and you get to keep your current lease. They go into great detail about how industry polls state how popular this car will be and they are excited to bring you this new car. Even better once they deliver this new car to you they will be able to actually fix the one you already have.

Now tell me if the above scenario were true would you really buy the new car? How would you honestly feel after spending all that money on the lease only to be told that they want to to buy an additional car? Common sense says that if your current product is broke so will your future one.

When do you guys want to get the next expansion out because I am sure it will push back revamps in at least 1 game if not both. You need to have a working product before you decide to try and sell another one. I can tell you that the friends I have that have asked me about SWG I have told them to NOT buy it right now because it is broken and we don't know when it will be fixed. I have told them that it has great potential and when SOE gets around to fixing it it will be the best game on the market. I have also told them that you would rather us buy an add on game before you fix the current one. In case you guys don't know every unhappy customer will tell 9 people on average about your service. That is 9 potential customers possibly being turned away because you have not fixed your current customers issues.

despite this being a good point in any other product, on the whole you cannot apply machined products or manufactured products to software of any kind: Windows, SWG,Microsoft Paint. Did you know that on average a game developer works on a game 100 timesas long asthe game will entertain one of its customers? You cannot expect the changes to be exactly on time or quick.

However, they did miss the deadline by a lot...I think better communication along the way to this point would have avoided the intense outrage that was seen after this delay. Communication is the key to everything.

Janson you must work for Microsoft. Your kind of B.S. doesn't fly. The software industry has developed a culture where broken is ok and wait till the next release attitude. The consumer is at the mercy of this abhorrent culture. Seems you fell for their propaganda.

True that, this paying customer simply mentioned that the work they were doing with JTL was amazing, not that it had top priority over everything else in SWG.

Personally I can see that the devs still lack a connection of what is seriously wrong with the game. First things first the worst part the game has an economy. The combat system is increadibly out of whack. Produceing an inflationary process. First major problem and the longer this goes unattended the worse it will be. People are accumulateing massive amounts of in game money, and this is driveing up prices. To the point that the price of some items have increase 300 to 400 fold. With no end in sight. This is not good for a fun aspect, because you are reduced to missioning over and over and over or cranking out hundreds of items to just afford the accepted norm. It is to the point where barter is preferrable to pay, because the value of a credit is fast approaching null. If you care not for the core gamers fine, but this inbalance hits the new players worse. Leaveing them far behind on a roller coaster that is speeding up.

The profession balances are way out of cynch. Some are god mode others are watch me die. How innovative is it too have to be a tka or combat medic anything else and prepare to die. It would make sense if these professions were skillpoint intensive but they are not. Which results in players getting to be both the best crafter and the best fighter. If this was not enough of a stain. There is also the fact that these classes can own all creature content in the game.

Mr blackman nobody expects a full decked out combat revamp, but its common sense we need atleast a mini publish to address the issues and bring the combat back in line with a better playing experience. Its like playing a game of basket ball without a net. While someone tells you well stands have to come first. Fine we will not get the basketball hoop to next year, but maybe maybe we can get a whicker basket.

Everyone on these forums has repeated time and time again. There are quick fixes to be done right now to help balance the game out, and these are not even resource intensive.

Remove the buffs till a more balanced buffing system is in place. The buffs are makeing people indestructible. They are helping to inflate the economy with super high missions, and they are makeing super attacks near worthless in pvp. They even make base defenses the only gcw content that is hanging on near impossible.

The armor needs a solid cap of say 50 percent on the composite. Once again this stuff is createing god mode, and makeing players indestructible for high level missions.

Mitigations some fighter classes jedi tka, are near impossible to hit while they get to unleash insane amounts of damage. These need to atleast be halved so that anyone with little or no mitigation has a chance. Not to mention to reinstate danger in pve.

Foods same problem as buffs.

These things alone are what is doing the majority of damage, and its not like its been said over and over and over. Please can we get some say on whether these problems will be addressed soon. The longer they go unattended the harder it will be to fix later on. In many cases near impossible.

I used the term "Questionable Quality" to represent final product functionality. SWG looks great, and is playable, but worth the waituntil next year to be where it should already be, and does it fullfill it's advertised quality? While the JTL demos may look great, the question is, when it ships, will it be comparable toit's "Advertised" condition ? Or will it also be a year plus to have a "Fully" functioning product ? Once it's purchased, they have you (again). And if it's not up to par, guess what. More wait till bla bla bla bla.........

hmm i agree smugglers are indeed weak atm but i heard master smuggler puts a limit to how crappy your slices can go, any truth to that?

But i also think pistoleers are kind off screwed since most of our specials dont do anything maybe fix that, just a sugestion that nobody reads.

if they say dont call us w'll call you, keep calling till they break.
That im nice doesn't mean i like you.

Thanks for addressing our questions.

I have to admit I never visited the forums until I had a problem with the game and came looking for help. I wasn't aware of this opportunity to find out what's in the works, what people are pleased/upset with, and how to improve the game. As much as I enjoy the new content I would like to see more of the "forced" socialization that was part of the game when it first launched. The absence of uber-buffs/armor/bio-engineered foods forced players to group up just to survive and we seemed to have a lot more fun back then. The GCW is supposed to be the end-content for high-end players, but there is currently no incentive other than bragging rights. The community is partly responsible since this is a role-playing game and no one seems to be doing much of this lately.

The idea of live events was great, butmany dedicated players have yet to experience one.The corvette missions were fun and challenging, but nearly impossible for the ranged professions.I'm anxiously awaiting JtL and the CR (I just want them done, don't care so much about which is 1st). I'd prefer waiting for an outstanding CR, than one that's pushed out quickly with a lot of problems.

The issue of the forums is when new content is released, only those upset with the content seem to post. Take a look at the ID forums after they received their revamp. Sure we all want the SLs, smugglers, pistoleers, rangers, etc. to get the attention they deserve, but every modification to one profession will have an impact on the community as a whole and this should receive great consideration.

I'm pleased with the majority of the decisions that the dev team has made recently with the removal of looping macros and the deletion of dead accounts and I like the direction you are taking with the HAM revamp. I just hope to see this on the TC and see if it works as intended.

Posts that actually contain constuctive ideas are the true minority.

Don't worry, gang, they finally fixed combat the way it's supposed to be in a Star Wars game...see for yourself. Someone out there understands what players want to see and experience.

As such, there's no need for me to stick around in this moneypit scam system anymore. Calling in cancellations as soon as their office folk show up for duty this morning. 6 months of beta testing is ridiculous, dunno why you folks that have been here from launch continue to tolerate this nonsense. Shame on SOE. Subtract 4 more accounts from your bloated budget figures, not that you cared in the first place...

All 4 Accounts Cancelled 08/04/2004

#1 Reason: Introduction of and overpopulation of Jedi that belong in KOTOR2 or a seperate server.
#2 Reason: Failure by SOE to fix long-existing problems and failure to generate any rich, meaningful, story-driven and GCW-affecting content while consistantly lying to the community in poorly handled communications.
