shouldn't moena be imperial, since it is the gateway to the imperial retreat?
seems kinda silly to me for it to be the 'always rebel' city....

Excellent. Will this affect Player Cities in any way?At this time, no it will not.
sounds as if one time, in a galaxy far, far away.....

haha ya but the reason why moniea is going to be always a rebel city is because it has always been a rebel city since beta. I dont know why they put the retreat so close to moniea but oh well. also ever hear of the saying.. i forgot the saying but something about the best place to hide is under the noses of your enemies? somethign like that.
Oh ya right that would make the game really balanced and fair, no imperial jedi allowed but the rebels can have as many as they wish.. you sir are a genius of the highest degree.

So SOE has learned nothing about the equality of dark and light jedi? Why would imperials attack imperial jedi? That makes absolutely no sense.
Because there aren't supposed to be any Jedi other than Vader and Palpy.

Once again by your logic the rebels can have as many jedi as they wish to wipe out the empire but the imperials should not have any and should just go hide somewhere and kill rancors... Brilliant.. simply brilliant..

It was SOEs decision to make FRS faction based, and allow Jedi to pick factions. As long as the Jedi are part of GCW it does not make sense for factioned troops to attack them. A Jedi that is a colonel in the Imperial Forces should command respect.
Therefore, making the Dark Jedi be attacked by ALL is an unfair decision, and it would also give the rebel Jedi an unfair advantage as well. It is already bad enought that rebels outnumber Imperials (at least on my server), and the FRS bonuses favor the rebel Jedi over Dark Jedi, this would discourage even more Jedi from choosing the Dark side.
Furthermore, in regards to JTL, trainers for the imperial track are in imperial controlled cities (eg. Bestine), doing it this way would also lock out the Dark Jedi from JTL as there would not be a spaceport city where they would be safe where they can get missions etc. So, what have they spent their $29.95 for JTL for?
And, you will be locking out Dark Jedi from major planets.
Just too unbalanced and unfair.
Gotta say I don't agree. I'm sure that the Emporer would not be too pleased with a high level military officer being a Dark Jedi. Dark Jedi are evil, conniving creatures. Heck, Vader is the Emporer's right hand and what is he about to do in Cloud City????? Oh that is right, capture Luke, try to turn him and then overthrow the Emporer.
Now, PERHAPS a compromise should come into effect. Make it so that Dark Jedi can either a) be a full fledged Dark Jedi, hiding his/her force sensitivity to the Empire, and run the risk of scans and such OR b) take a separate quest to be one of the Emporer's "Hands". You might have to sacrifice some skills points or something, maybe you can be a Master LS and a few other stuff, but not as high level as now?

Additionally, if a Jedi is scanned s/he runs the risk of being exposed. Should this happen, the police may panic and call for help, bringing a very powerful force on the Jedi. Note that Imperial allied police will call forces to attack any Jedi, regardless of faction. Rebel aligned police will only call guards to attack Dark Jedi.
As a Dark Jedi, I'd say I have no problem with this if I have the ability to wave off the scans like we used to.
Forget what I mean? I have some screenshots.
Jedi avoiding the scan, part 1
Jedi avoiding the scan, part 2
I was only initiate at the time... it was very cool to have that as an ability.
After all, my Jedi is now Master Force Powers... I sport the basically useless "Jedi Mind Trick" skill. Make it good for something.

Now THAT is good, every jedi should have that ability... that is starwarsy....
I would allow it also if that could be done.... hmm could be a pain if in battle but guess I could make a macro..
5***** for you!
Someone with brains.

Why is all this time and effort being wasted on something the majority of the players IE neturals don't care about and are not involved with.
While neutrality should be supported fully as a viable gameplay option, the game is about the war (Star WARS), and therefore every effort should be made to make players want to participate in it. What we have now is an underwhelming sea of neutrality, where even the majority of the factioned players are little more than cosmetically Imperial or Rebel. It's just not working.
So, I'll stop just short of saying if you don't want to pick a side in the war, don't play. But I will say that, while the neutral option should remain viable and supported by gameplay features, the war should be the primary motivating factor to choosing SWG over another MMO. We didn't pay George $8 each time (plus $14.99 for the DVD) to watch a series of movies about chefs trading food to Bio Engineers so they could craft better components for tailors to make new leotards for dancers. I, personally, paid to see Luke Skywalker and Han Solo shooting Storm Troopers (and Obi-Wan and Anakin cutting up battle droids).
The war is what it's about. If this is all successful, the majority of the players won't be neutral. They'll be factioned and fighting tooth and nail to win the war for their side whether through direct combat or providing supplies to their favorite side.
Good points but this is a GAME BASED on the films not the films them selfs.Thats makes a LARGE difference. But ifyou want to comapre the films to the games thenwhy are the only melee weapons in the films light sabers (i don't countgaffi sticks are thier not shown enough)andEVERYONE else usedpistols (mostly)or rifles.Where as in the gamethere are more melee weaponsusers than anything esle.I have NO intention of joining the GCW EVER. To me and most neturals i have talked tothe gcwISpointless and a waste of time. Nothing you do in the GCW has ANY effect on anything. The only thing i can see thisdoing is just annoying the majority of players IEneturals who willget scaned and fined even more than they did before. It also sound like it could be exploited quite easerly. Why not stop this waste of time and programeing and use it for something that will benefit a much larger section of the player population then just the odd few people who pvp and actualy take part in the gcw. Something like the profession revamp for instance.
Thanks for the 1 star It shows i'm on the right track
That may be, but since when has having ten-million fake credits meant anythinganyways. Everything in this game is for entertaining, and maybe some of us don't find being Neutral any bit entertaining.
If you plan on making a case for your opinion, you have to see the other side as well.
*edit* Just read some more of this post....
This is STAR *WARS*! Stop with your "Majority of Players IE Neutrals" crap. This game is about a war. Stop talking like what you're doing is the only way of doing it. The devs know that with this RPG the longest subscribers will always be Star Wars fans. If you don't like Star *WARS*, don't play Star Wars Galaxies.

JtL NEUTRAL PILOTS
Would flying for the RSF or Corsec improve your scan chances from the ground officers?
i.e. Would being an RSF Ace Pilot give you the same chance to avoid the ill effects of a scan by local law enforcement on Naboo that being an Imperial Captain (or thereabouts) would from a Stormtrooper scan?
Too many bloody jedi anyway, give em a good kicking.
