Thread: Publish 10 ... holocredit for unlockers.
I think any solution needs to be based on these precepts:
1. Long time players should be rewarded more than those who just started.
2. Players should be rewarded for making use of the content in the game.
3. Players should be encouraged to interact with others, but shouldn;t be prohibited from completing their requirements if they play solo.
4. Players should have to work to complete their force sensitive experience requirements.
Based on these precepts I think any solution should include the following (keep in mind that it takes at a minimum 7,450,000 force sensitive experience points to advance to the Padawan trials):
1. A graduated force sensitive experience reward based upon the number of professions currently mastered. The more professions mastered the higher the reward per profession. The idea of simply giving skill boxes per number of profs completed doesn’t work as the amount of force sensitive experience required as you advance in a tree increases.
2. Force sensitive experience rewards for making use of the content in the game – based on badges received for the Warren, Corvette, Hero, Deadeye, racetracks, etc.
3. Free skill branch unlocks (the ability to train a tree even if the quest for that tree hasn’t been completed – the user should still be able to do the quests if they like) based upon the amount of time the SOE account has been active.
4. Players should still have to convert their skill experience to force sensitive experience and continue to work in their profession to get the remaining expereince needed, even with the above rewards, but the conversion rate for regular experience to force sensitive experience should be reduced – either back to the original 10:1, 1:1 or slightly higher, say 15:1, 2:1. The current 30:1, 3:1 for combat professions is too much.
The question in my mind is not that we get this stuff .. i believe in good faith that we will...

Based on some detailed conversations with the Correspondents, as well as your feedback, we have already implemented some changes on TC & TC2 for the credit you receive if you unlocked.
As you know, those that have unlocked between publish 9 & 10 will be given all 6 Force Sensitive branches that they need to proceed to Padawan.
Now, based on our interactions with the community, you will also be given the experience necessary to purchase all four boxes in each branch.
So: Intro Quest, Exit Quest, and on to Padawan. You can still do the Force Sensitive quests if you desire to gain their specific rewards.
We will announce the proportional credit for those who have not unlocked soon. It will be fair as well.
Thanks,

It is:
Say I have 3 free unlocks...
By that outline here I get those 3 unlocks and enough FS EXP to buy the trees in those 3 branches. Ok, Kool !
I already used the 3 free unlocks on the skills I felt i needed most and have since ground my butt off channeling EXP into buying 5 of the 12 boxes that will be granted by this new system.
I put this to you all ..
PLEASE make the EXP grants awarded for the free unlocks aggrogate.
i.e. not tied to the exact branches that were choosen as free unlocks.
As it is now every box in FS requires the same amount of EXP for a buy
175-250-350-450 ( I think it is ... )
Therefore, for a player like me that has 3 free unlocks, grant those and the equivilant of 3 branches worth of EXP to use as we deem necessary.
thanks

I like the idea of what you are doing Devs, just wish something would come out officalliy for those peeps that haven't unlocked yet on thier silent holo prof. I can't ask for to much, so this is good. If a DEV can respond and let us know, that's be great.
Peace to the Rebellion and to the Empire...nay, kill the Empire
We will come out with more info, and it will be fair.
But why not stop the grind right now? Just play! You are going to make it soon enough anyway, and the village is very fun!
JustG-
A quick message from a "fanboi" (at least that's how I'm labeled, I don't really see it myself)the level of communication youguys have been providing is more than adequate. I, and perhaps some others, are happy with the work the Devs are doing.
As for the exp reqs for FS and Jedi, it's perfect. Make it difficult, everyone wants a Jedi overnight (ok, ok not everyone) but many do and I like the approach of making it this difficult. Now, go back to your cave and don't come out until Pub 10 is finished!

Thanks, good job on the new system. The village is very cool
That is highly HIGHLY unlikely. What have the pre-Publish 9 unlockers done to deserve another Jedi character? If they want to make their main Jedi, they'll have to get visited by the old man and complete the quests just like everybody else. "But my main has mastered 23 professions and unlocked, can't he use those 23 profs to get free branch unlocks on his own character?" Well, that's something that the developers will have to think about. I would think the fair resolution would be to reset the "free branch unlocks" for the main character of an account with an pre-P9 FSCS so that they'll have to do all the quests. They've already effectively cashed in those free branch unlocks on their current Jedi.

Ok , what about those who already unlocked before publish 9, the current Jedi? Will their main toon now be force sensitive and have the 6 branches and the xp to train all 4 boxes in each branch?
TGIFWknight wrote:So, basicaly behind all the BS and Lie's, if you unlocked in Patch 9, you get the Shaft! You see, it took me all 32 Professions to unlock and my last profession was Merchant, which I started like 3 dang days before patch 9.Now, being led to believe thru-out all your Dev's BS >PRE_9 Patch and all, that if I unlocked during this patch, I WOULD GET MY PADAWAN when patch 10 came out. But, as it seems,>LIARS>> Big Fat ars LiarsTAKE YOUR QUEST AND CRAM THEM > RIP OFF AND LIARS.I done did my dang share in this game and ALL 32 Professions = MORE than enough to be Jedi..so,, you Dev's can take it to Heart from someone that not care about all ya kissing up and all that, You a Bunch a damn liars. GIVE ME MY DAMN JEDI..And this coming from a guy that Owns' 4 accounts? YUP! Jedi or cram your game.No of course that you made me mad enough to tell you what I think, enjoy it.
I don't understand what you're so upset about, frankly. What shaft are you getting? They already said that if you unlocked, which you did, that you'll get your 6 trees unlocked *AND* filled. Who cares if you have to do an intro quest and an exit quest. At least you don't have to grind through millions of experience filling boxes to be a Jedi. You, essentially, start off as a Jedi.
And yes, I'm in the same position as you -- I did all 32 professions to unlock. Do I feel slighted? Not at all because I'm getting the Jedi I was promised.
And on top of that, I'm actually in *favor* of having my main be my Jedi. I don't have a template, for one -- the profession grind made sure of that. I'll move around some things to make my character more suited to working through the jedi boxes, no big deal. But really, what it comes down to is being able to relate to my character. Since I purchased the game a year ago, I've had one character. I created this character then, and frankly, if I'm going to play a Jedi, I want to play it with the character I know, am happy with, and more importantly, can relate to. I'm sure I'll get some use out of the second character slot, but, to me, that toon will never be the same as the one I play now. It will be a utility -- something to support my Jedi and my brother's master doc. I want my Jedi to be something I'm really into, and that can only happen with my main.

So when i log in Tueday i still have to do a couple quests? (Yes, i did unlock post pub 9)
woolie (the savage beast)
Is that so bad? At least you don't have to grind anymore just to get Jedi.
Orean wrote:Has anyone heard how someone unlocks their second character slot? Is it by unlocking Jedi or doing all the FS quests or what?
My assumption, since supposedly the 2nd slot starts out as a completely normal character, is to do what any newly created, post-10 character must do. Get badges or whatever to get sensitive to the Force, get the elderly man to visit, and do the Village time-sink. I'm assuming that's what's meant by the second slot being completely ordinary.

You don't have to do the quests and you start out as a Pawdawn. I think u need to slap yourself and wake up.
Actually, if you read the original post by JustG, it indicates otherwise... I read it much like this guy did. According to this post, you're gonna have to do an intro quest, an exit quest, and then onto Padawan which I understand requires the Padawan trials?. I don't know much about what this really means but it seems to mean that you may end up being gated, waiting for the ability to do these quests before you are able to do the Padawan trials? Could take a few months of waiting????
Can someone shed some light on this for us Post9 Unlockers?
Based on some detailed conversations with the Correspondents, as well as your feedback, we have already implemented some changes on TC & TC2 for the credit you receive if you unlocked.
