VEHICLES SWG style compaired to SW Universe

Now dont get me wrong I love that we have vehciles to get us around in but they seem like they are missing somthing.., o wait I know they are missing gun turrets. In ROTJ the speederbikes are exquipped with a single turret. So I say plz allow Master Artisans to craft vehicle gun turrets that could be placed on speederbikes. Let's just face it compared to swoops speederbikes suck! so lets go along with the story and allow them to have gun turrets on the underbelly of the vehicle. When a player attacks an enemy with this it would only give them combat xp nothing more.

Also I have noticed that races are becoming a huge thing lately in my galaxy but they seem quite lame cause every one with a swoop has the same stats etc. Also allow artisan to make Vehicle Powerups or Enhanced vehicle parts that they can attach to ur speeder to increase turning rate, terrain negotiation, speed, handling, acceleration, etc. Also allow speeders to be able to have almost a burst run or an overcharge powerburst which allows the bike to travel faster for a limited amount of time. Also allow Players to have their own customizable pod racers. example each player has a choice of pods and twin engines when crafting a pod racer then they buy the pieces and allow a artisan to put them together. them also may buy parts to power-up their pod. Then devs make a extension on to mos espa " the racing field" which gives the players a place to race.

To make it all fair make a new set of XP Vehcile XP which will not take away from the total 250xp ur allowed to used in learning skills this xp will be used to have branches like pod racer, Biker, pilot, etc including faction based skill trees that would allow u to use ur faction vehciles better. Each one would have certain boxes that allow a player to increase their knowledge of how to use there bike and at certain levels of xp u can attach vehicle power ups to ur vehicle. This new XP field would be a stepping stone also in to preparing for Jump to Lightspeed. Also Allow players to use certain vehciles at certain vehcile skill levels. Like an Av-21 or JEtpack cannot be used till Master Vehicle Handler or somthing.
Also go the Galactic Forums and read up on the Faction based land vehciles petition that would allow player to use ATSTs Rebel landspeeders (seen in empire strikes back), and more...

Another area that needs to be improved upon is what classes can wear what armor. I mean common a Rodian can't wear a stormtrooper helmet? It doesn't even say that your species can't wear it just that there was an error with the transfer or something like that. A Rodian can wear ubese, composite and pretty much any of the other headwear that are available, so what makes the stormtrooper helmet any different from the rest.

Couldn't find the "Search feature", and didn't read anything about it, so...

After playing the game for a short amount of time (about a month and a half), something has just hit me.
Where are the Ithorians?!

So then I had this brilliant idea. Quite a simple one, really, just a bit of copy and pasting for the coding, a little bit of work for the graphics workers (Hell, I'll do that part if you want me to, I've worked in 3D modeling for damn near 3 years now), and some input from us forum types.

New players! That's right. Only eight races, Bothan, Twi'Lek, Wookiee, Human, Mon Calamari, Zabrak, Trandoshan and Rodian.
I propose that there be eight more races added to the game. Like I said, not a lot of work, and just a little larger update.
The eight new races would be as follows, and I will give reasons for each;

Ewok, I believe that Ewoks should be added as a playable character, because Ewoks are classed as intelligent creatures, I mean afterall, they're nothing more but midget Wookiees.

Ithorian, where have all the Ithorians gone?! I'd love to have them in the game, their voices totally blow my bassbox, and Ithorians, from what I've seen in other Star Wars games, are natural explorers.

Gungan, you either love 'em or you hate 'em, either way, they'd be a great edition to the game, because they are already there... and who knows, it could bring about a whole new expansion, the Seas of Naboo?

Selkath, from Knights of the Old Republic, the Selkath were an interesting race, and this could bring about Kobolt in to Star Wars Galaxies, as well as a new planet and some good for Medics and Doctors.

Those funny 3-eyed creatures that kinda look like goats. There's one in Jabba's place, he's the second guy you talk to. They've been in every Star Wars film and game so far. Why not make them playable?

Hutt, perfect to make the previously discussed "Crime Lord" profession. And the very few Hutts that would be around could also conduct an idea I will explain in a moment or two...

Gamorrean, what could be better than a Jedi pig? The Gamorreans were hilarious in KOTOR, and no doubt there's a few of us out there who wouldn't mind being a big-bellied brute.

Robot, yes, Robot. We all remember the charming HK-47 from Knights of the Old Republic, and how we would all loved to have been him. Robots should be playable characters, because lets face it, they're quite able to reproduce, and don't always need masters...

The bringing about of the new players would probably bring more players to the game, what with such a large playable character database, and would bring more of a variety to the scene. all I see running around now is Humans... and that's really somewhat boring. There are other races out there in the Universe! Bring them forward!

On another note, on the Ahazi server, the Trigarium guild held the 3rd Rori Speeder Championships, which, oddly enough, they also won. What I propose is a new building, a race track, and possibly an olympics stadium. A while ago, the Rori Olympics were held in Legacia, and things were... well, somewhat unprofessional, having to conduct the events out in the streets. Hutts (player or non player, dependant on the city (And BIG cities, like, cities bigger than the NPC cities would only be allowed such buildings)) would control these events, and such, and SOE could have annual events, on one planet, and make it random every year... or maybe twice annual? Who knows. Whatever attracts the most people (And hey, we could even squeeze some new professions out of this, for gambling purposes!)
The prizes and such could be credits pushed in to the economy, through the Hutts, with BIG prizes, 200K or so for first place. This would make the economy rise, and would also make people come together more as a community.
The reason I mentioned the prizes (to be donated by SOE) was that during the 3rd Rori Speeder Championships, the prize money (200K for first, 100K for second, 50K for third) had to be donated by the people. Admittedly, this money could also be gathered through entrance fees during the official events, and indeed it most certainly should, but if the money doesn't come to enough to present all the players with the cash, SOE will have to push some money in to the game. Again.

Events that could be played in the Olympics are as follows (suggestions are also good);

Foot Races (100m, 200m, 500m, 1500m)
Pet Races (500m, 1500m, multiple lap races)
Speeder Races (Landspeeder, Speederbike, Swoop, possibly even a to-be-implimented-Pod Race? (all multiple lap))
Marksmanship (Accuracy in Rifles/Pistols/Carbines, Damage in Rifles/Pistols/Carbines)
Strongman (Highest Damage in Barehand(TK Novice, TK Master, TK Monk), single hand, double hand, polearm)
Duels (Pet, melee, pistol, rifle, carbine)
Thrown Items (Furthest distance gained by thrown object of any sort, maybe even new items to be added, Javelins, Shotputs, Discus, etc...)
Forage (Whoever finds the most of a certain resource)
Entertainer (Whoever does the best dance, may require an official voting system (not hard ))

And those are all I can think of at any stretch. C&C welcome, and I really hope this post draws attention to the SOE staff, I can imagine a few of these ideas will be greatly appreciated by the public.

Forgot to add "Jawa" and "Whatever species it is that Yoda is" to my previous post. Reasonings are the Jawas are cool, and although found mostly on Tatooine, why not have a few that could scour the planets and the universe? It'd be good fun. And for Yoda's race: You've never been able to be a Gerkin (Yeah, I think he's a Gerkin) before, so why not change all that, and let us have some Jedi Gerkins running around?! Everyone thought Yoda kicked ass in the newer Star Wars films!

I had a few ideas to ponder for the GCW revamp. First, there has been a lot of interest in player bounties. One thing to add some flavor to the GCW, would be to allow High Ranking Imperials and Rebels appear on Bounty Hunter mission terminals. Bounty Hunters would have another role in the GCW.

This might have been already asked but I didn't had the courage nor the time to read all the subject (and the "search" didn't returned anything useful) so I'm gonna ask directly : in the combat revamp, give the wookiee bowcasters either :

a) a different kind of damage (come on, don't they use explosive bolts wraped around with energy ?)

b) armor piercing

c) both

And give us a wookiee only certification at Rifle 3 or 4 in the marksman skill tree to limit it's use.

Merchants:

- auto erase all vendors when player surrend the corresponding skill

- xp shall be based on vendor's profit, not visits

This would ensure that there are way less empty vendors, and that vendors arent used as mules.

Entertainers:

- use the same interface as ID, allowing a choice of prestations : Mind wounds healing, BF healing, Mind buffing and a sercure transaction.

This would assure a regular cashflow for entertainers, and no more afk dancers and musicians.

Image designers:

- make the professionan advanced medic classes (ie after First Aid IV, hairdressing could beintergrated in the ID tree).

This would give the profession a little more coherence, and depth too. it would make sense as they are basically plastic surgeons.

Combat Balance:

- the sooner the better. You couldas an intermediate step, drasticaly nerf doctor buffs ?

The doctor buffs are what is throwing the game tottaly off balance. Fix this ASAP.

Content:

- More theme parks ! these are great fun for all the family.

- Quest for gaining the "Master" rank of each professions and allowing the gain of unique items (not necessarily Uber ones)

This would allow for a real devellopement of a starwarsy atmosphere at very low devellopment cost (writers are way less paid than coders). It would also create some more in-depth filing of what each professions are about.

Gameplay :

- Create a House Moving service. It should bear some limitation to avoid houses used as giant backpacks: The service would cost 1 month of maintenance. The moving would take 24h during wich the house is unavaliable. there could be a chance of stuff decaying during the transport (you never know). The service could be limited to the same planet.

This would allow for a concentration of player city as the biggest obstacle to this is the major annoyance that is moving all your stuff around and placing your furniture again.I wanna play SWG, not The Sims (c) (r) online !

- Create a PVP ranking based on the number of slains. High ranking and low ranking PVPers in tef or battlefied conditions shouldnt be allowed totarget each other.

This would allow for everyone to have a taste at the PVP experience for more than three seconds at a time.

- Fix bugs.

Please

Well... that's it for today... hope someone will read this and maybe like some of the ideas. I try to keep it realistic in term of developpement time and ressources, so... we never know

Where are the vendor and merchant profession changes?? I presumed this topic would be an IC forum, but I don't see it. Can't find it in development or testing either. Did we lose focus on this?

I only made it half-way through page 4. Here are my list of suggestions: some original, but mostly not original. I also including a short list of loser suggestions.

- Expand the Helper Droid to most all professions (except maybe combat professions. You should know what you're doing after learning Marksman & Brawler.)

- Give us a City chat

- Add more purpose and more content to badges.I mean players go after badges and rank with little to no practical purpose in their endeavors. FEED OFF THIS!

- In-game calculator window. I'm tired of whipping out my pda to calculatre % armor/weapon damage or to total resource stats.

- Establish an SWG-integrated voice chat system like Teamspeak or Roger Wilco.

- Create multiperson vehicles. Allow the passenger side of X34 to take on another player. Create hover platforms that can transport entire groups.

- Make grouping worth while! Take away the xp & credit penalties. Powerleveling is not a sin. Give entertainers and medics extra xp for working in camps. As it stands now, virtually no one groups except on epic missions, solo groups, and noobs who don't know any better.

- Again, make camping even more beneficial to encourage more player groups.

- Can we get better vehicle clearance over rocks? I'm tired of flying 3 meters over a rock, but getting stopped.

- Fix building zones so thatwhere I'm standing plays no part in getting a building plant error message.

- Provide either a fixed draft and manufacturing schematic numbering system, or a system that is easily countable. Random guessing through 100+ schematics is not fun.

- Change the /makeleader command so that it works at an unlimited distance.

- Give player cities Starports.

- Give player cities buildings with multiple combinations inCantina/Medical Center/Cloning Center/City Hall/Parking Garage or all of the above together.

- Give player cities pavement, bridges and walls.

- Allow players to remove an item from a crate while in combat. (I can repair a piece of armor while fighting, but I can't yank an item out of a crate.. yeah that makes sense.)

- When cloning, reset the stomach to empty.

- More lighting options (hand-helds, vehicles, night vision goggles) = longer and more complete darkness periods!

- Enlarge the mission/creature lairs to something of a realistic size. Perhaps a pseudo, limited "dungeon".

- Make missions with complex building interiors and underground facilities/caverns that only a solo player or group may enter.

- Curb spamming with perhaps a 30-second delay on same-string /say's, /shout's, /yell's, etc.

- Place a seperate subset of furniture-only slots on various buildings.

- Allow artisans to make signs, datapads, etc. that all players can write messages on and display. (Making a worthless crafted item with a name for a message and selling it for 99999999 is for the Mynochs.)

Rank: (this aspect is so lacking that it needs a seperate section)

- Give us a Faction Point progess bar for the next rank.

- Our rank should be shown on our character sheets.

- Rank should be toggled on/offto fellow faction members above our heads. (and upon examination by other faction member players - no toggle)

- Rank should be shown to all when overt or under TEF. (and upon examination by all other players) There should be no option for an overt to turn off rank. This will provide a deterrant against everyone ranking high by making yourself a target to others. And it willmake advanced installations a little harder to come by. So seeing an overt Colonel will be very impressive and more rare, instead of common.

- Allow players to demote themselves down one rank at a time (if they can't handle the heat.)

- Each level of rank should have a benefit to it, but the current items available should be toned down. (An Imperial Sargeant should not get an ST-AT or a Lance Corporal should not be purchasing a medium turret.)

- All races should be allowed to hit Surface Marshall.

- PA terminals should show rank next to our names on the guild information menu.

- 1 or 2 civilian ranks should be inserted, where there is a zero chance of getting a TEF by Stormtroopers, scanners, etc. This will be good for Artisan/Entertainer types. These civilian ranks should be designed so that thereare no exploits by civiliansin the GCW.

_______

Here are the big losing ideas in this thread so far:

- Make city building and maintenance more time-consuming and harder. (Don't make ANYTHING in this game more time-consuming! Harder is ok in some cases, but not this one.)

- Make low-mid level characters viable solo opponents in pvp! (Nooooo!)

- Nerf melee's down to a mere support role and give them jedi perks. (YUCKKK!) There are some Star War's-realistic areas we just don't need to go for.

Well that is it so far. I'll read the rest of this thread's pages later.

No, Ewoks were completely Native to Endor. You wouldnt see one in the Mos Eisley Cantina for instance. They made a statement similar to this about why we dont have Jawas. I believe that three eyed creature's name was Reeyees or something like that.If you want my guess, the races that will be available in the future will most likely be the ones available as vendors (Ithorians, weequay, Ish, etc.)

Guild Halls take up a good amount (9 out of 10) of one players alotted Lots.

Guild Hall's get used for Malls quite often as I've seen so far which means that someone out there is losing 9 Lots just to have a "comercial building", and then there's also the actual Guild's Guild Hall.

It could be interesting and helpful if the player who owned the deed could split the Lot cost of the Guild amongst theirself and a number of other players up to a total of3 players total (including the deed holder).

If this option is chosen, the maintenance cost would go up in price by 100 credits for the Guild Hall.

The extra 100 credits added to the maintenance cost per hour would transfer over, divided in half, to the two players other than the deed holder.

EXAMPLE:

Jishya has a Guild Hall which takes up 9 Lots

Jishya asks Grisham if he wants to help with "soaking" up the Lots for Guild

Jishya also asks Harristle if she want's to do the same.

Both say yes.

Jishya must now pay a maintenace cost of 200 per hour rather than 100 per hour, but she also has 6 more Lots than she previously would have had for a total of 7 Lots open.

Grisham and Harristle will recieve 50 credits each from soaking up the Lot space.

Some things I would like to see:

1) Ability to customize inside home appearance with Carpet color and wall color. Fix the Corellian houses, they are uglier than sin.

2) Rare fish, rare components in fish to encourage fishing

3) Definately favor the player bounties on highest ranking imperial and rebel players

Concept for Defensive, Offensive, Normal Stances.

Purpose:

  • Adds additional features and control to your character in combat.
  • This concept will helpmakecombat morebased on tactics, style, and approach.
  • Simulates how a character can plan how he wants to attack or defend from his target

What is it:

  • Macros that give the player more freedom to control their character in combat.
  • The commands for the Macro will be the following:

    1. /Offensivestance1
    2. /Defensivestance1
    3. /Normalstance

  • Players can change their approach anytime in combat
  • Animation will show each individual stances
  • Each stance shows what a player’s intentions are in combat

How does it works:

  • Offensive Stance

    1. It gives your character a greater chance to hit it’s target
    2. Increase the Modifier to Hit by +5 at any distance
    3. Decreases your character’s chances to defend himself
    4. Increases your character’s damage by 5 to 10 % more than his average
    5. Animation will show your character holding his weapon offensively

  • Defensive Stance

    1. Increases your chances of defending yourself from any incoming blows
    2. Animation will show your character blocking more than attacking
    3. Your To Hit Modifier decreases by 5 in this stance
    4. Decreases your chances to hit successfully
    5. Animation will show your character holding his weapon defensively

  • Normal Stance

    1. Is a bit of both Offensive and defensive in one
    2. No damage percentage increase
    3. Attacks and defends normally
    4. No addition bonus modifiers To Hit
    5. Animation will be the same as the current in game stance

Special notes:

  • PVP/PVE Combat shouldn't be based on just the basics: damage and speed.
  • Other elements of combatlike Strategy, luck, andskill should help determine the outcome of any combat situation more realistically.
  • This concept can be used with other concepts to improve the Combat Mode in-game.
  • Characters will have a greater control of deciding how they want toapproach a combat situation.
  • This concept can evolve to something morethat can help revolutionize the combat in pvp to a whole new level.
