Hey, i have no idea wether or not anyone will even bother reading this as i dont post many things on the forms, however ive noticed that people only go to the cantinas to heal their minds...(obviously).

anyways...

i was just thinking that the Devs should add a card-game to SWG, i was thinking it might add different aspects to the game and give people more of a reason to go to the cantinas , on the other hand theyll have something to do while they wait for their battle fatigue .

obviously this one message wont change anything, so if anyone thinks this idea would be any good, if its even possible?
do you mind posting a reply telling me what you think

thanks

Here's some changeI'd like to see.

1) Allow multiple Shuttleport, Clone center ... in player city. It'll begreat for large city (450m radius) and will be a new money sink.

2) Allow the mayor to place spynet, random quest NPC, faction recruiter ... player city actually looks like ghost town.

3) Actually, crafters got millions of credits and no use of them. Beside this, they complains that for some item's shematics, named resources always have poor required stats. For exemple, people always use Laser carabine, because Elite carabine that normally should be better required this kind of resources. A way to change this will be to implement a new kind of building : Refinery.

Those "refinery" will take an amount of resource fo input, and artisan will be allow to change some of its stats. It'll cost money and a part of resource. It may looks like that :

-Bob got 100K of "Dipatoiz" iron, CD 135 / OQ 890 / SR 901 / UT 948

-Bob go toa public refinery, and choose to enhence is Iron CD by 400%.

- To enhance his iron, it'll cost Bob :

(100K * 400%) / 10 = 40K of resource

((100K-40K) * 400%) / 100 = 240K credits

- As result Bob now got a crate of 60K "Refined Iron" CD 540 / OQ 890 / SR 901 / UT 948 witch can be used in craft as normal "Dipatoiz" iron.

Benefit of this system : Bob got a better resources to craft his gun and 240K credit + 40K resources get out of the game.

4) Change requirement for armor shematic. Basic armor cost required more specialized resources !!! How do you want armorsmtih to sell good Padded, Tantel ... armor when they are more difficult to craft than composite !!

5) Make spice experimentable, actually smuggler profession is only intresting because of slice. Spice have down effect, are always the same and are worst than food/doc buff.

6) Spice should have "stackable" effect. Not as food, but when you consume drugs, everything that youconsume after should have unatended effect (good or bad). Maybe it can't be done for all drugs, but it'll be really a great improvement.

That's all for now

Politician Issue:

So the mayor of my town and I agreed that I should take over mayoral duties from her so that she could go off and do other things. Problem is, we have 47 citizens, 18 of whom thankfully get out and vote. I can't win the majority and re-deeding the city hall isn't realistic, in fact, shouldn't even be an option. Are the devs going to address this problem? I can see some reasons why resignation can't work and why transfer of duties shouldn't work, but there has got to be a better solution to voting out the incumbent mayor than trying to get people who play once in a blue moon to log on. Voting the mayor out works in theory, but with casual players, it isn't really realistic.

I havethree ideas to relieve this situation and I'd like some feedback.

My first idea is that there should be a way for the mayor to announce his resignation and ask for a replacement to step up to the task. The mayor stays in office for a week and if no candidate registers for the vote, the city hall is destroyed. Drastic? Maybe. But what's the alternative? Why should a player city even exist if no one is willing to run it? Our PC now has a mayor with no skills who will be in office from now until doomsday unless I can get 6 more votes from playerswho at bestlog on once a month at random times! With a one week resignation/lame duck period, a city can safely transfer the title of mayor between trusted candidates by asking for replacements to register to vote. No replacements = no leadership = no city. Keeps the database clean of useless information as well.

My second idea is not as drastic and may be a good starting point for change. Why not increase the mayor's time in office to 2-4 weeks? This gives even the most casual player a chance to enact policy and solves the problem of stumping on a week to week basis. One of the most frustrating things is to get players to vote and vote and vote, week after week after week, hoping that enough people will log on to give you the majority. With more time between votes, it makes it easier to rally more votes.

Finally, I have a solution that is taken more from real life politics. Why not rid the system of incumbent votes? If only three people vote and I get two votes, I win. If no one votes, the incumbent stays in office. If there is a tie, the incumbent wins. The good? More political change and less city "ownership". The city would constantly be in flux as new candidates could win or lose easily depending on voter turnout. More people would turnout to vote. The bad? Griefing. PC building theft. Guild takeovers. But can't that happen already? This solution may make those things easier, but doesn't the good outweigh the bad?

So those are some ideas. The system is flawed and needs to be changed. I would love to hear opinions on these ideas. I think a combination of all of them is the best idea of all, but hey, these are just my opinions.

I finished redoing all the theme parks this week and one of the things I thought was what a shame I'm never going to return to any of these characters and places.

A lot of the quests in SWG's are kinda dull because you deal with people that you've never heard of and you run out into the middle of the wilderness to meet them.

It would be great if you could incorparate the theme park characters and locations with quests. Maybe you would get a Imperial mission where you had to get something from Bib Fortuna and the only way you could complete it would be if traveled to Jabba's Palace and had access to Jabba's Throne room or if you could group with someone who was a friend of Jabba's (had finished the theme park) and he/she could get you inside enough to talk with Bib.

You could make this work with all the theme parks doing quests involving Han Solo or Darth Vader. It would also add some extra meaning to finishing the theme parks and add some much needed star warsness to the game.

Anyway just an idea I had.

I bet this has been talked about a thousand times, but i think this is still an important issue.

I don't know if this is the right forum or if we're only supposed to talk about Jedi and GCW, but i like to bring it up anyway, fully agreeing to Obi007.

There still is not enough SW-feeling in the game for me, and seeing the main persons from the movies, if one ever do the parks, sitting all the day at their places just adds to it.

I, too, would like if the movie-chars would be involved in more quests, and there could be done even more.

I would really like if there could be some scripted events in the game just for watching, not necessarily participating, that could level the missed SW-flair up a bit, besides the Imperial Crackdown, of which I didn't see too much yet.

Talking with a friend for 5 minutes quickly brought up e.g. these short events:

  • Watching the emperor arrive at some important locations, like for some control visit or sth. like that, or let him make a parade with troopers, at-st, at-at etc. during which no reb should let himself be seen near. Of course, the imperial march has to be played

  • similar stuff could be thought for the other main movie-characters

  • some jawa sandcrawlers driving through the deserts of tattooine, either pre-routed or random. maybe a player can stop them and try to sell them some junk, as they are known junkdealers

  • two npcs sitting in a cantina, suddenly one shoots the other, stands up, looks around, throws some coins to the barkeeper and leaves the cantina with a "sorry for the mess".

  • looking up into the sky to the three star destroyers, suddenly you notice little points around them, which are rebel X-Wings, cought while fleeing. for minutes, red and green laserbeams change, and then there's silence again

  • let dirty spaceships start and land in/from hidden bays at the starports (btw. is it possible you took out the spaceships flying through the air out of the game?)

I could think of a bunch more, but they would greatly rise the feeling to be in Star Wars. I could think they should be rather easy to implement, as most routines (spawn) and models are already there.

Enhance the life and SW-feeling for smugglers and bounty hunters:

Let npcs not only be passive, but actively talk to (non-grouped) smugglers and let them try to give the playera delivery mission with a timer. if he cannot or doesn't want to fulfill the mission, put the guy on the BH-terminal. Of course, that should be clearly stated before he takes the mission Maybe you can make it so that the bounty will be withdrawn if the smuggler manages to kill the npcs involved before the hunters get him.

As for the GCW, i dare to raise up a point I already brought up in beta: remove the color-coding of factions in the radar, to enable ambushes and unplanned encounters for the overt players. This would mean that at least sometimes there will be short fights nobody expected, like in cantinas, and the combattants have to be more aware of their environment.

Re-invent at least some zones of control as was planned a long time ago, bringing benefits to the side which is in control, to bring back something to fight for, not just the fun. I hear here and there that the fun alone is just not enough.

And I like to see imperial places where rebs cannot go without the help of an image-designer to hide their faction and viceversa. I really like that idea, although it has been brought up a long time ago, too.

And finally, i think it would be cool that imps could only go overt when wearing an imperial uniform

Just wanted to slip in some of my 2 cents again

I pmed thunderheart this idea with no response but, Armor Dyes would be sweet. DAoC had them and i liked being bale to change clors when i fealt like it. with the dyes you could get new colors and stuff

Armor Dyes is something we want to add at some point, but there are some tricky sticking points to work out before they can be added. There are some technical issues with changing armor palettes (or any palette really). What happens is that for every color on the palette, it is associated with a number. That number (which represents a palette color) exists in the database as part of each customized item. If we change the mater palette colors, then there will be lots of of armor (and wearables) that will have different colors. Beyond that core challenge, there is the considerations of design. Once we get some other existing issues taken care of, Ill push for this to be added to In Development.

We're pushing hard for the Jedi revamp to go live in two phases during Publish 9 and 10. Here is the thing though, the devs want to get it done and done well so if the development time goes a little long, then so be it.
