Well.. so far..
I'd talked to the hermit in the squill cave while grinding some pistols XP.. (trying carbs now)..
Happened to bump into the mark of courage quest mobs while racing.. luckily there were some nice people around to help out.. otherwise i'd have surely died unprepared for it heh..
Decided to poke around for mark of intellect spawns and got pretty lucky there as well.. they happened to be up in a town i was passing thru..
Having gotten 1/2 way.. i decided i might as well actively work on the quest.. so i started looking for the spawns for mark of honor.. got the spawn.. was in mid conversation with the npc.. as he wandered away and despawned.. then starteed looking for him again.. and eventually became too frusterated to continue.. (CSR's said they couldn't help as they had no way to verify that i was talking to him when he poofed)
One of the things that appealed to me about SWG is that there weren't 'random spawns' and 80hour raster camps and such.. that quests were instanced.. and could be run by multiple persons at the same time.. so the group can benefit.. not the individual.. that was a major problem for me in EQ.. as people can't just form up and all get rewarded for it.. everyone but 1 person gets the shaft so to speak..
I believe that these random spawn type quests inherantly detrimental to the PVE portion of the game.. as they encourage persons not to work together.. but in competition (same can be said for the racetracks.. i'd prefer a static time to beat).. PVE should be about players working together for the benefit of everyone in the group.. not about players working together in competition for the same goal..
Would be nice if this line of quests rewarded everyone in the group.. instead of 1 individual.. and i understand that it is the hero (singular) of tatooine quests.. but i already know enough heroes (plural) which kind of defeats that argument..
So in the future.. please avoid these type of 'competition style quests'.. instead use the quests to bring players closer together.. not push them further apart..

Incredibly boring. Would have been more fun on Dath since hoping off your bike there is dangerous. Travelling on Tat is so boring. Is that a dune lizard or a dragonet? Pop 2 shots off, most of been a dune lizard.... Travel some more... What's that? Pop 3 shots off, that had to be the dragonet. Travel some more, is that a tree? Oh wait, my mistake a big rock and more sand.

Found the Moisture farmer right next to one of my harvesters while harvseting Fiberplast and that got me started on the Heor of Tat quests. Found the bounty hunter 30 minutes later. Logged for the night. Next morning flew around some possible locations of the wild Bladeback Boar for about an hour, got in Planet chat and asked if anyone has seen it, a nice person sent me a tell with a waypoint where he seen it about 10 minutes ago, went to that location searched around found the boar within 2 minutes of arriving at that location. Took off to some possible locations of the pirates, did circles around the Farmer Wife's House for about 2 hours. Found the pirates, screwed up and answered wrong killed the pirate. Went back and he was gone. Searched around a bit (10 minutes) found them again, answered right and went and got the badge from the wife. Headed to squill cave, searched around found the skull, found the hermit and got the badge and the ring. Total time invested in the Hero of Tat Quest, 6 hours 52 minutes.
My lucky break was finding the moisture farmer right next to my harvester. Saved me alot of time hunting for him. Got lucky finding the pirates real fast the second time around. Very lucky someone sent me a tell with the waypoint of the boar. Bounty hunter was easy, just hit the shuttleport and search the possible waypoints for each of the 6 cities.

Don't listen to this person.
This quest needs to be accessable to all players, not just those intent on creating a combat uber template to stand toe to toe with Nightsisters.

I have attempted pre and post publish 9.
I bear the Mark of Intellect only and have spent many hours searching for the other spawns. While it is a bit frustrating I think it is agreat quest concept.
Without doing a google search or reading these forums I'd have no clue where to look though, and the quest would be far too random to complete. The hermit should give you more information.

Greetings CHECK'
This is CSR-RussellA at your service. Thank you for submitting a ticket in regard to this issue. I am sorry to hear that you are having difficulty with not being able to get the ring.
I want to inform you that the reward is not static, but is issued rather randomly. This is by design. Morover, for every quest it is not mandatory that you will get any reward.
For more information you can also go to the Forums. Trust me it will immensely help you. Good luck with it. If you have any additional concerns please reply to this message, otherwise please delete this ticket.
We have recently added alot of ------- BLAH BLA BLA BLA

The Altruism quest is driving me and everyone I encounter looking for the farmer nuts, its like he walks 2 inches off the ground for all the tracks he leaves. And Ive even heard people say that his dissappeared from right in front of him. The quests though are very good its just the searching for this one allusive farmer thats seriously annoying.
