Thread: Some Info on the European Launch
I beleieve it been offical that we can use US version to play euro version.
In other games like DAoC the difference was that the people that ran the servers were different from those in the USA.IE DAoC- US mythic and euro GOA.
So i would imagine they will stick with both versions been interchangable.
Now i agree let there be no character transfer guys it makes perfect sense.
Always look at AB server in EQ when you think of a euro server.Look at what happened there.Everyone was allowed to transfer to AB server .So many USA players moved there as well as euro players and in the end was so overcrowded.
Making it that chars are not transferable will limit the load on the new servers.Alos it will give a chance to make the economy more stable.I myself am sitting on millions even though i got it thru hard work and many others are.Then you have those that thru hook or crook are sittng on 100s million .Imagine letting this people intoa fresh economy with all the new shanges and duping almost removed from the game.This people will single handely control the economy.Also the crafting dynamics will go way off balance since some servers have been very fortunate with shifts and others very unlucky,so some crafters will come in with very good resources while some will come with utter junk.
I do not cherish levelling another character but think this is the only way to go and hope they keep the servers as fresh starts.
And yeah 4 days to launch and no word still from SoE or lucasarts.
The release date has been put back till the 7th November.

well it hasnt really. release date is still october 31st.
the 'window' for release is 31st -> november 7th though, and thunderheart thinks november 2nd is mo elikely. but yeh i would say november 7th is the day we'll be playing
Personally I'm not holding my breath. The lack of commitment to answering questions posted on the forums (especially important ones like...err when is the EU release?) is evidence to me that the people in charge don't care. I think a Christmas release is likely, if they can get round to it.

Sticking to the words, this covers only the sale of the game box to end customers, and it is specific to Germany. We have to use our imagination (ain't we used to it? *sigh*) on what this means for the start of the European servers.

The information regarding the release on november 7th concerns the box. They had problems printing the manual (translation). But since the servers aren't gonna be translated - are they still on schedule? Or are they gonna be "translated" (delayed) anyway?
