Thread: Some Info on the European Launch
still no offical word??
this is sily. I for one will be wanting to play on the UK servers (as i am in the UK) even though i have a character on Eclipse. It will make my life easy when it comes to meeting up with friends etc.
So when will we get something offical???????

knew that from EverQuest where you added support for them like what was it 2 or 3 years after release?
Why did you not have support for them in the beginning with SWG?
Holocron already said it: every customer will be able to play on any server.
When and where did Holo say this? And what is the newest news? It is now less than a week and nothing else has been said, no euro forums started, no server names, no nothing. Glad to see things don't change to much.

I am a member of a city building PA. We need to know how many servers there are going to be and when they will go live. Many of us have already booked this Friday off work in order to get a head start on building our city where we want to build it. It's already too late for many of us to cancel this time off work.
Please, give us some real information.
Why are people asking for DEV response, they're developers..they develop this game..right, do they always come here and post info, NO.
Give Q3PO, ThunderHeart, Holocron or Shug_Ninx a poke in the ribs, but just don't say "dev" because that makes absolutely no sense at all.
Secondly, I'm surprised at all the "can I play on EU servers with my US copy?" questions, have you actually read the FIRST post in this thread or are you just a moron? I'll quote if you're of the last named category:

I do wish they gave us an update on the numbers and physical locations of the servers though, EU release is VERY close now. New forums would be appreciated too, I want to get organised

People just call them devs, always have, always will, I dont see why that is a problem.
And in regards to your second comment Shug also said to "look out for another post in the next few days", however he never posted another comment on the subject so I think it is fair to question what he said.
As far as i know the game launches in UK in 5 yes 5 days.
Yet there is no hint of a euro server.
Surely SoE/lucasarts know that SWG has a reputation of been bug ridden.So why not launch the servers now so at least let it have 1 or 2 days in front of the game been in stores.That way you can test it out.
Euro server have a nack for been horrible at launch eg AB server everquest,all the euro servers in DAoC.
So get this servers running for at least a couple of days to launch to make sure they are stable.
I must admit I was dissapointed at first when I learned I cant transfer my Char from Eclipse to the Euro server. But now after consideration I think starting a fresh can only be good news for european gameplay.
I have a couple of mates waiting to start playing on the euro server and it wouldnt be fun for me or them if I shot all the Worts

Well that makes perfect sense to me too, I would have thought SOE would have done that. Who knows, perhaps they will do that and open the servers in the next few days... but I seriously doubt it.
