Thread: In-Concept Open Discussion (Week Ending 3-1-04)
Ok ons of those long time listener, first time poster kind of things ...
I was thinking the other day i have some nice steel except for the OQ being too low. I was wondering if there were a chemist class they might be able to fix that for me. I was wondering if there was any talk about a class that can tamper with resource quality. Up certain attributes while lowering others. This would be done with disposible equipment. Giving this class inter-dependancy with another crafting class. As well as being costly in other resources. Possibly add it as an ability for artisans. Or make it an advanced class. Not really sure how to pan out all of the detailsto make it a balanced and not too overly powerful class. I know that it would rarely be mastered and there wouldn't be as much game content for the profession.ButIcertainly would drop some of my skills to try and get a peice of that profession.
Just wondering if it had been considered before, and what the result was if it had beenconsidered and shot down.
Thanks

Hello, this is my first time actually posting some ideas.
I find it quite annoying to have to retrieve an item, from a vendor, or for a bazaar item that's listed in the area you are in. I always forget to retrieve a certain item, lets say some resources, and go to a place to grind, and realizing I haven't retrieved it. This system is just a waste of time. Obviously, when you purchase an item, your going to want that item in your invetory. I have spoken to many players on my server, and they agree that the system is pointless. I understand having to retrieve an item if it's located in a different location from you, but when its in your area or, you are right next to the vendor, this system shouldn't apply. Which also brings me to my next point.... if it is impossible to put this in, then a good idea would be to see, next to the item, inthe Availible Items list, an exacty waypoint to where you can retrieve the item, and yea, i'm talking about the pc vendors.
Also, I know this has been brought about before, but i'll say it again. BOUNTY HUNTERS NEED DEFENSE! Heh, which you should already know. BH's obviously could be beaten by let's say, Jedi, but against mobs outside, a Bounty Hunter should'nt have to go out and begg for buffs and buy a lot of muon gold and neutron pixie. Especially Master Bounty Hunter's. They should be absolutly elite on what they do, and that's one thing, to hunt their mark. Which brings me to yet another idea. PC's should be able to hire PC BH's to hunt down a certain PC enemy. Not just Jedi. BH's are also suppose to be hunting down the scum of the galaxy.... this idea would work greatly in the Rebel's vs. Imp's.... hell, BH shouldn't even be able to choose their faction, but instead, be able to hunt both factions with a certain conept of what I'm trying to say, for the credits that the PC listed the mark for as a reward. I mean, come on guys? Most BH's don't really care what happens, they just want their credits. This would also be a very fun concept for the Bounty Hunter.
Also, I have a fun conceptof what I think theCommandoshould be.Commandos are an elite type of Miltary units, correct? Why not have a Commando squad based academy that only Commandos could join? They should work up their ranks not only through the skill tree, but with actual Military Galactic Ranks. They could have the options to get unique squad based abilites, that could only be implemented, if you were grouped with other Commandos. This idea is not clear to me. But whoever is reading this, should build off of something.
Also, for furture expansions, I think me and a lot of other people would like to see the following locations....
Cloud City, Dagobah should be like Yavin4, wild), Hoth, Kashyyk (this would be awesome)
Just some of the one's I, and many other people would like to see.
Anyways, I just started playing a few weeks ago, and man, this game is awesome. I really can't wait to see what you guys have in store for us with the space expansion, and i'm crossing my fingers for some more info this May, at E3. Thanks to the whole development team, for making such a fantastic world.
Hey Thunderheart - there are some good ideas coming out of these General IC threads, but I am afraid that the lack of structure may be preventing people from getting involved in some of the discussions.
I would like to suggest/request you add a few new permanent IC threads to help direct some of these sub-conversations:
- Structure Issues and Ideas
- Weapon Issues and Ideas
- Armor Issues and Ideas
- Vehicle Issues and Ideas
- Other Craftable Issues and Ideas
Whats a prof-special? Example Ranger: ability to harvest ALL from a creature, get a trap-schematic with improved combat quality...
Whats a cross-over-special? Example Ranger: The title of the Antarian Ranger (this is a EU Combat Proffession, who helps the Jedi to find people or train the Padawans in outdoor stuff, it is just a RP-thing) To become a Antarian Ranger you have to spend 1 master skill from the Ranger and 1 master skill from a high end combat prof.
I am sure, every Profession could be given 5 specials. If you play 3 h a day, you need to play 2 month for a skill or even 3.
With this change, everyone could make him unique and the masters would have to do for a long time and becoming better in ther profession.
Examples for specials:
Weaponsmith: a new super gun that only can be used by a specialzed BH, 10% better experimantation
Merchant: can build a Vendor-House, made by a specialized Architect
Ranger: become a Antarian Ranger
Creature Handler: can mount and ride a big bird
- if you are a Master of a high end profession, you get 5 Master Skill Points (MSP)
- you dont get more MSP with mastering other high end professions
- every high end profession has 5 master profession specials
- every high end profession has 1 master cross over special with another high end profession
- every master profession special requires 1 MSP
- every master cross over special requires 2 MSP
- you have to master both high end profession to get the master cross over special
Example:
Armorsmith:
Master profession specials:
1. 30% better experimentation
2. 90% less fails during crafting
3. New Armor 1 Schematic
4. New Armor 2 Schematic
5. New Armor 3 Schematic
Cross over specials:
1. Merchant: using a Armorsmith Vendor House
2. Any Combat Profession: New Armor 4 schematic what is THE Armor for the combat profession the armorsmith has mastered
3. Smuggler: 80% better armor slicing
4. Droid Engineer: High End Chassis schematic for Combat Droids
Imagine, how many new things you can put in the game without changing anything from the skill system right now.
1. Why are Factions I have positive Points with attacking me? If there is no longer a reason to acquire positive faction points, please remove the monitor. Personally I like the Idea of having Factions like you. If possible please restore the reason for having Positive Faction Points. I like the Idea that Nightsisters or Tuskens Raiders leave you alone if you have Positive Faction Points.
Is that true?!

I like the current Publish I have only two minor problems that I see currently.
2. Why is Lava in the Volcano on Lok a solid object? And why are people allowed to build Houses on it? Perhaps if it could be given the consistancy of water and the ability to kill if you're stupid enough to swim in it?
LOL!!!!
