DEAR DEVS:

  1. Change the cap to 500 items.

  2. Assess the impact and player feedback.

  3. Make further changes.

DO NOT NERF TO THE EXTREME IN ONE HIT.

THE MERCHANT MINORITY WANTS TO HAVE THE CAP, THEY ALSO WANT TO REMOVE ALL VENDORS FROM PEOPLE WHO DON'T HAVE THE SKILLS TO PLACE THEM ANYMORE.

THESE TYPES OF CHANGES HURT EVERYONE ELSE (99% OF THE PLAYEBASE).

THE DEVS DO NOT LISTEN TO THE VAST MAJORITY. THESE CHANGES WILL BE DISASTAROUS. IN THREE MONTHS THE PLAYER RUN ECONOMY WILL BE IN SHAMBLES.

THANKS A F'N LOT!

good point. I'm sure the decision has already been made. I'm sure 99.9% of the playerbase wont like it. They just give us these forums to make us think we have a voice =)

totally wrong -

Actually now that I think about it more , the bazzar cap is a horrible idea .

1) It totally makes the merchant class pointless .

2) IT SCREWS ME !

Raising the cap doesn't screw you - people can only list 20items. REMOVING the AUCTION CAP makes it so people can no longer put advert items on the bazaar 'risk free' and AVOID having merchant in the first place. (Merchant power starts with planetary advert...) The limit of 20 items is what makes the difference - not the price at which stuff sells for. You should be bawking at why premium item is useless. It doesn't keep your items so they stand out (ie, top of list) or highlighted. Removing the auction cap makes it so people selling holocrons can just put them on the bazaar and not lie that they have a 5 million credit bid. It is going to hurt merchants who operate on people (suckers) who haveno real way to auction stuff on a block...

Caping vendors to 150 items screws you.

Anyone who has put a vendor 'on the line' of high traffic knows the deal. Just having a vendor on the line doesn't draw people in. Setting the name of the house doesn't draw people in (that much). Having a sign or the vendor show up on the map starts to draw people in.

As a merchant on one server - the bazaar is my bread and butter. NO ONE travels to the town I'm in to buy the stuff I sell. But I can sell 20 items a day on the bazaar at higher prices than on my vendor (who is in a high traffic mall.)

As far as 'dedicated merchants' I have as of yet to meet someone who buys crafted products and sells them as a merchant should. Vendors offers don't work to support this. it's beyond the scope of this thread - but those problems should be fixed. ... Then merchant will bea great class.

Searching For Items: I know there are performance issues with the bazzar. It works slowly or not at all on the weekends. I like the option to be able to search the Entire Galaxy for items. I wish there was a way to search the Entire Galaxy for items located on vendors... I don't know how this could be done. For example, I would REALLY want to buy some "bark mite burrower queen dna" maybe right now someone has placed it on their vendor, but the odds of me finding it are 1 in a million. I had the same problem when I was looking for light encumbrance armor with high kinetic protection. Since everyone and their uncle is only selling composite armor, I had to visit all the vendors registered on the planetary map to be able to piece together armor that I wanted. It took me half a day to do it and the armor matches colors somewhat, but it is mostly green not my favorite armor color...

all for the 6000 cap auctions should be a bit higher though say 25000 also eleiminating some of the items that never show anything in bazzar and menus would be good and most merchants wont be hurt by 150 item cap they just make a second vendor make this easier and make 1 sales tent avail to every one with say sales III under artisan and you'd be fine id also like to see player lots go up

Wow another moronic response, by a non crafter, non merchant...

Tell me how a tailor with 3000pieces of clothing and no skill points is supposed to get enough vendors to sell their wares? Come on now tell me that?

Even with 6 vendors you would not be able to have more then 900 items at any given time. Wait yes you can! Buy more account$... Frigin scam I tell you!

Bazaar change - No opinion

Vendor cap - Horrible idea. It's hard enough finding vendors that are filled in the first place. Why punish the active crafters that are actually willing to keep well stocked vendors in the first place? As a PA leader, it's hard enough finding someone willing enough to do the task... why make their jobany tougher than it already is?

"Currently, there is no limit to how many items can be placed on a vendor. This encourages monopolies and actually hurts sales in many instances"

That'sthe most blatent lie from a developerI've seen to date. Doesa personnot go to Wal-Mart because "they have too many items to choose from?"

I would go back to a well-stocked vendor as opposed to a vendor stocked with only a few items ANY day, as would any person. (So long as it has good quality products of course.)It shows that the crafter is active & does a good job at offering a variety. The items are sortable by many different categories just like the bazaaris & the bazaar is usually filled with MANY more items than any vendor out there. A lot of items will not deter anyone from buying.

I haven't seen a problem with monopolies. I've seen a problem with vendors that are inactive & aren't worth my time.

It will only save you resources. You're looking in the wrong department. If the game is going to keep this player-based economy, it might be a good idea to stop looking to save resources by cutting out the crafters' way of living &start encouraging good players to keep the job market that EVERY player in this game needs to be filled.

just chiming in here, for the credit cap to 6000 tho it will lead to a more clutered and item filled bazaar.

i am adamantly opposed to the item cap on vendors being at 150.

if u are worried about space on the servers and u just have to put a limit on the vendors the 300 is a almost tolerable number 400 is even better giving us a whole 4 pages for our items.

if setting the limit to 150 is your only recouse then to make the number of vendors available to the players is also a viable option, and also has the side effect of making the merchant profession more useable.

my vote

bazaar yay

Why don't you people just FIX YOUR GODDAMN DATABASE and stop screwing with the characters and abilities?! Your technical issues are NOT my goddamn problem. I bought what i thought was a quality piece of code, and now you are trying to say that the professionals at SoE are unable to correct database instability?

Need i remind you that the lovely little server downtimes every day were supposed to be a temporary measure until you could sort out and stablize your issues? How long has it been? how long have you been putting bandaids like this on the game?

First of all I like the idea for raising the price cap on the bazaar, it will make things more useful. However I would like to see it raised to 10k instead of 6k.

Second of all I don't like the idea of limiting vendors to 150 items. That is ok for some vendors since I dont need to sell 150 different types of deeds, but other items like clothing where you have thousands of different colors and styles trying to keep a good selection can be in the 100's of items. I would find 500 to be a much better cap for merchants, that is unless you want every crafter to also be merchant.

----------------------------------------------------------

Some thoughts on storage space:

I have read some comments about lack of storage issues in houses, well I had some ideas about that. I know you limit the number of items to reduce the time it takes for items inside the house to "pop" when you enter it. However what if you allowed architects to make a chest that once placed became like a personal vault (the number of which you can have in a house is dependent on the house size) once you place this chest and equip it to the house then you can put say 100-200 items in it w/o them being counted as the house inventory. It would be nice to have furniture that does something for a change. Another option I thought of would be make a special deed a "warehouse" which takes up one lot and has say 3 rooms for 100 items, once again like a personal bank. I would love to see one of these implemented, I have never been able to decorate my house because I have too many crates laying around. End Rant.

DO NOT CHANGE MERCHANT VENDOR CAPS.

I sell powerups, and they only come in crates of 10. Now due to the nature of powerups, I need to stock many types, and a LOT of them... a stack of 10 goes FAST. Currently I stock over 1000 items over my 2 vendors (melee + ranged). Even though I will get master merchant, this nerf will kill me. I won't be able to stock enough of the many types of powerups that my customers enjoy. So please, reconsider the cap. There is really no reason to nerf it.

OK so this is supposed to be closed according to Thunderheart. Dev's what is the decision on this?

Everyone agrees towards raising the bazaar!

It is apparent thatthe majorityof the Crafter's firmly and strongly disapprove of the vendor cap!

So do our voices count? We want to know.

I think the money cap on bazaar is good because with it u can sellsmall houses on the bazaar for 6k. The vendor cap is also a good idea but needs to be a higher number than 150.

I like the Idea of the Bazaar Limit being increased to 6000 Credits.

I do not like the vendor limit being reduced to 150 Items for all players. I feel the merchant class should be able to have a larger cap without having to place more vendors. I would also like to see an option similar to the bazaar for merchant vendors. That way the crafting professions can concentrate on crafting, then go to their favorite merchant's vendor and offer it items to be sold, with a certain percentage of the sale going to the merchant, and the rest going to the crafter. The percentage can paid for when the crafter offers his item, or when the merchant accepts the item for sale. I would also like to see an option where the players who play merchants can have their vendor items listed on a separate window on the bazaar terminals. That way the merchants can Advertise their vendors and sell items through the bazaar terminals, of course all items would have to be picked up at the actual vendor's location.
