so all chars will start as FS and then proceed to aquire force powers with some quests?

Once players have become a Jedi Knight and still hear the call, they can enter a whole new level that splits off to light and dark Jedi paths where forced Jedi PvP will gain you force ranking and possibly a seat on underground Light and Dark Jedi Councils.
On paper i don't think is a bad idea but i fear that it will turn in an unfair/exploitable/griefing game
probably only jedi supported with big PA will be able to succed in it due to better equipment and support.
what i don't like to see is armyes of jedi and affiliates who hunts all the day lonelly jedis or big PA armies that fight each other to kill the opposite jedi
also exploits like i let you kill my jedi in server x and you let me kill your on server y, or multi accounts to have a jedi mule to give the main one the killing points
for sure guardians need something to spice their lives and PvP should be an important option, but not the way to grind it, other quests, PvE difficult fights (like other fs npc) and to have a padawan or an initiate to teach, can be a way to grind, not a PvP system.
and plz, more contents and make jedi feel the like they should.
Sorry for bad English

oh and to all the currnet jedi with problems about theupcoming jedi patches GET OVER IT!
another thing...
in the new system it seem we have 3 different tree to climb
FS => knight => guardian
but in the old we have
holos => FS => knight =>guardian
so what will happen?
people that just opened their slot after 30 profs will be in the same tree of a new created char?
same for people who grinded 20 prof but haven't jet opened?
and guardians?
they have not pvp they will become knights or will keep their status?

?? Does this mean. Everyone will have two slots per server as well? And be FS? creating thousands of Jedi running around? Still kind of confused about this.
Successful Jedi Knights will have the opportunity for two slots (in the current design), but it will be difficult to attain.
So ONLY Jedi Knights will be able to get a second slot?
As for it being difficult to attain, that's what you said about the previous Jedi system. There are already a lot of Jedi, though probably not a huge number of Knights.
In any case, you're granting all Jedi Knights a mule account. I think that's a bad idea. It hurts interdependence in the game. What's your rationale for giving people extra slots, anyway? Why shouldn't they use a Jedi as their main character? They have 10 slots to play with and can play other characters on any server they like. And if the answer is "because I don't want to be a Jedi all the time," then just don't become a Jedi. I have never seen a good argument explaining why it's better to give people extra accounts which are commonly used for muling, buffing, and moneymaking - basically cutting out interdependence.

well, so far it's looking good, but we need more information on how this will affect current jedi before we can put our views in.
Some translation to the new system will be part of the process and current Jedi will not lose their second slot.
So all current Jedi are being awarded with a permanent extra mule account? That's whatI figured. See above. I just never thought this was a good approach, and I wish you'd force people to merge their characters. making SWG a single character server gamewas a great idea. It made people take on a role and live with its limitations. Grandfathering in all the hologrinders' extra characters will only ensure that they are less interdependent than everyone.
My COD!! What a whiner! You have obviously not unlocked your slot. It's NOT a second account, it's the ability to create a second character on the server you unlocked on. And while I have seen the main toon and Jedi toon both online at the same time, it doesn't last long because the server will kick one of them off within 5minutes. The Jedi characters can't place structures. And where are you getting this drivel about affecting interdependency?? I still buy armor, weapons, food, and buff packs. I have to buy for 2 characters now, so the crafters are making twice the creds from me.

Now.. TH... I have to say I've lost all faith in you. Ok, so we've finally gotten confirmation that 'legacy' Jedi won't be losing our slots. But how can you expect us to give you any meaningful feedback with the crap you're giving us. I can understand being secretive about how the path to FS/Jedi is changing... but I can't imagine any good reasons for not telling us how this revamp is going to affect us and our Jedi characters. Are our Jedi skills going to be moved to our main characters? Am I going to have to grind out all the skills my main character already has on my second character because the Jedi skills are now on the main character? Are skill points going to be involved in getting Jedi skills now, and if so, what happens if my Jedi's skills are moved to my main character who only has 4 free skill points?
this jedi revamp sounds better every time i read it andto them current jedi craping bricks dont worry ther hardly gona wipe your skill tree you would be in a difrent acadamy level to the padwans but all in the same boat its gona be awsome that ther finaly making jedi fair as i work and can only play SWG like 2 hours a night max and every other saturday if im lucky so holo grind 4 me is too long n nasty but this gives every one a equilchance to be a jedi...! plus jedi is to special to grind xp on dant or yavin. like the films padawans learn in classes and on missions with ther masters so more like the film so much better gives it more depth and stronger conections with story and history of the jedi...!
If anyone can tell me about the up coming jedi patch plz reply to me many thanks...!

What happens to the holo grinders that haven't unlocked?
They get to play through the new quest system in Publish 10.
TH, do you mean that those who have not unlocked but have completed a number of professions will start the quest system exactly where anyone else would who had mastered none?
I find that unacceptable. If someone has taken the time and effort to master 20 professions, then they should be given some consideration, some way to start the quest system further along than others.
Advancing down the path of Jedi will start with basic force sensitivity which will be open to all players to create a sense of the force.
FSS for everyone? BAD idea
If players wish to pursue it, they can develop their force sensitivity in minor ways without sacrificing their original character concepts and even enhance their characters to have that certain special something that isn't quite tangible...
Jedi is yet another profession? - BAD idea.
instead of flaming me how about TRYING to be constructive... this is what the one person meant by "Arconis we need more people like you to voice there comments" Posts like this do not get anything accomplished and only prove one thing... that you need to grow up.

Thunderheart first I want to say thank you to you for all the hard work and dedication you have given to our community. We can be harsh at time this I know and you have a hard job. I personally could not think of reading over 300 posts a day and finding all the good things to send the higher ups. You certainly deserve a big pat on the back *pats thunderheart on the back* you rock man!
First of all, you just make the devs lazier then they already are by saying they are doing a good job when in fact, they are doing a piss poor job of fixing things and adding new content. Of every MMO I have played, the patches and so called fixes come twice as fast or more. There is NO reason why they couldnt throw in a simple fix for lets say, Imperial Hats! in the FIRST patch they made or any patch for that matter.
This is by far the most expensive MMO to date and of course more are following suit of charging the $15 a month since we are all stupid enough to pay this fee to BETA test this game for 2 years... There is no excuse for the professions being as broken as they are when we are OVER 1 year into release. Content? What good is content when everything else is broken. Why remove citywarn because of a few people who abused it to block off POI's... BAN people. Destroy the city. Everything you do promotes exploiting when you do NOTHING but make the entire community suffer for the actions of the few. And for those that argue that everyone should be allowed everywhere, no... By that same standard then everyone also has a right to your own house and every item in it since it is also in the world that we all pay for...
I've spent countless hours grinding for a Jedi Slot and I threw it all away when you announced that you will remove perma death from Jedi.... The fact that there was a risk in being a jedi was the very reason I wanted to be a Jedi. But you threw it all out the window because the Jedi class was so broken that it would indeed be unfair to lose your char over the millions of bugs this game is plagued with.
I have been playing since beta and EVERYONE BUT ONE person has quit playing this game because you dont fix anything and you break more then you fix. And to be honest, the ONLY reason I am still here is there is nothing else to waste my life on... I am a professional at that...
They dont need a pat on the back... they need a kick in the ass... Work double shifts or hire more people for **edit** sakes...
Atleast until this game can be considered out of beta....
For Jedi, systems need to be put in place that address the following issues:
1) Crystal gathering. A great system for allowing (Jedi and Jedi only!), to search for crystals and pearls with survey and harvesting tools was laid out in these forums.
2) PvP. Perhaps PvP interested players want to PvP all the time, but the majority of your players and certainly the ones who want to immerse themselves in the SW universe, not just in SWG, want other paths. A system like the GCW is needed, where Jedi can progress in other areas and not be forced into PvP. Still have them hounded by NPC bounty hunters and "police" authorities, but not forced PvP. PvP should always be a choice for the player, not "if you play a Jedi it WILL be PvP."
3) Darkside/Lightside. Adeed based system should be implemented so that the ACTIONS of the jedi should determine their relationship to the dark or light side of the force. If a jedi kills NPCs who are neutral or good, then that jedi should move toward the dark side. If a jedi helps someone being attacked by evil or dark side characters, that jedi should move toward the light side. The best system I have seen for this was in SW:KOTOR. Such a central issue to the SW universe cannot be ignored.
4) The transition from the holocron system to the quest system. Those players who have mastered many multiple professions MUST be given advancement in the questing system over those who have mastered few or none. If someone has mastered 2, then they should have to go through most of the quest system (not all). If someone has mastered17 professions, they should have to work through the last half of the quest system. If someone has mastered 30 professions, they should have to go through nearly none of the quest system. You created the holocron mess. Please don't clean it up by burning down the house.
5) A system that balances the level of the jedi against the bounty offered for them. Force Sensitives should have a very small bounty (10K credits). Padawans a larger one (20,000) and Knights larger bounty still (50,000). Jedi Masters should have very large bounties offered on them (150,000). Right now bounty hunters have every incentive to hunt weak jedi because the bounties are the same for every jedi. Make the bounty on a jedi reflect their difficulty. You have mission rewards match the difficulty of the creature. Why not for jedi?
I am sure there are many more things that need to be addressed, but these are the ones I can see myself.
I dont think anyone should be angered over any of this - START the Polls - Run it on TEST - then make the decision. Its a 1-2-3 process.
