Thread: Weekly Rountdable Discussion (Week Ending 2-1-04)
TH,
More bugfixes, proffession fixes etc, less new content until current content is fixed plz.
Greetings,
CyberGhost.
I see no reason in limiting this. As it stands now, when I feel like driving a landspeeder, I simply delete my old one and make a new one. If I want a swoop, I delete my old one and make a new one. It's simply making it difficult for me to enjoy the game and nothing more.
I just don't see the reasoning behind this.
Thank you.
TH,
PLEASE FIX THE UBESES ARMOR BUG THAT IS CONSTANTLY MAKING US CRASH!!!
I mean really guys, it is armor! It is NEEDED! so why isn't this known issue fixed?
Oh, and I agree with making the jedi quests very hard (which I am sure you are going to do) but the idea of limited number of jedi per server is just stupid!
Sorry if I insulted you dude, but it is..
Peace

You appear to have missed my request for some further investigation into brining back the MINING Profession, (top of page 5 of this thread) Either that or you are choosing not to provide any feedback.
Please can you at least acknowledge the question and give some indication as to whether some further investigation into this lost profession would be possible.
From my perspective, the loss of the MINING & MANUFACTURING professions is the single biggest flaw in the SWG crafting process.
Oh my god!

Actually Im a big fan of the miner profession. I wrote several monster posts during beta and fought hard to keep it in the game way back when. Its something that players and devs want alike, but there is a really difficult balance issue to consider at this point.
Miners mine (go figure
). That basically translates into, "survey, place harvester" Sure, there are lots of other secondary skills that could be added to make the miner class more interesting, but their main focus is pulling resources from the ground. As it stands, there is as much resource pulling as the game economy can handle and in essence, its a redundant profession.
There are alternatives for sure, but its something that wont be considered until a lot of other current activities are completed.
One more question now that I have complete confidence in at least one red named individual reading my post..
Any word on new speeders and mounts coming in the future?
As it stands, mounts are relatively pointless, more for show and novelty than anything else and were kind of a waste of development time, at least from the gamers perspective.
Make mounts entirely non combat and allow NonCH's to have some exotic mounts to cruise around on while in town. Sure, keep a few of the really cool ones for CH's so they don't complain too much (lol) but man, I'd simply love to cruise around Tatooine on a Bantha or Ronto... wouldn't everyone?
Just a thought I guess.
Something i would like to see is a Battleplanet.
The Battleplanet has 2 Military Starports (One Imp, one Rebellion), and whoever wants to leave these Starports has to go overt. That way only overt players would run around on that Planet. Tickets can be bought for faction points at recruiters, these shouldn't be that cheap and maybe need a rank, to avoid unexperienced players flying there or other players traveling there several times a day. On the other hand, with thisticket you should be able to flyto this planet covert.
On the Planet around these 2 Starports are smaller Military Outposts, with cantinas etc. These Bases are protected by strong npc forces, not allowing an opposing Players to enter. Outside are different Spots worth to fight for, and the closer these Spots are to your own base, the easier are these to defend. The planet doesn't have to be that big, it could be a part on hoth, wich would suit imho perfect for this scenario, as an old battlefield both sides are trying to fight for some military secrets, left knowledge/technology or whatever.
Of course there are thousand ideas around that (eg a big military starport for the imps near coronet, and outside AH spawning bases witha shuttle launchingto transport the rebel player) but i would be alreadyglad to see any steps to that idea in basic - a planet forcing the player to be overt.
Regarding a mining profession, I do like the idea, but I agree with another poster that it is too late to add it as the only class with mining capability. I, like many others, harvest my own resources and could not spend points in a new profession to do so and so it would be a deterant to playing. If it had remained in game since Beta, we would have a different economy now, but unfortunatley that was not to be.
Now back to my issue: TH--get those poor Dancers and Musicians the ability to self buff. It's just not fair, as I said in my earlier post.
