I think there should be mounted professions like mounted swordsmen or mounted rifleman.

Rebel Vs imperal combat should be equiled out by doing something to the drug users (spices) who are in combat.

Combat tanks and armered cars should be considered and we rebels and other peoples who are attacked by AT-STs need some type ofanti AT-ST weapon like an antitank rocket to a tank

I also think that if you get enough fraction points, like +5000 tuskin raider points, you could have a tuskin raider as a pet to use, gain rank in the tuskin raider, or other cool stuff. This could be done with any other group like the jawas and the townspeoples.

Also mabey low level aircraft like tie gunships that can be attacked like that birds.

And when is the space expanchen pack comeing out? The rebels need their X-wings.

PLease respond to my measage, i'm full of ideas cause i have nothing beter to do.

I feel weapon specific HAM targeting is the least logical aspect of combat. Why can't a Rifleman shoot someone in the chest? Why can't a Pistoleer shoot someon in the leg? Combat professions are not divided into the weapons they use but the area they hit. The HAM pools themselves lack noticable differences because of this. Action has little to do with performing actions, at least in combat. Mind has little to do with mental action. In combat, all three scores are basically three Health bars. Loss of each incapacitates or kills. There is no distinction.

This was my original idea, a little over detailed, but I'm like that.

Just an idea.

HAM targeting is an important issue in combat, one that has seen many flames and complaints. Separating the HAM by weapon type; rifle-mind, carbine-action, pistol-health; just doesn't make sense. How about something like this:

Blast: Health, Action and Mind, the damage divided equally
Energy: Health only
Kinetic: Health only
Restraint: Action only, loss of action pool slows movement speed
Heat: Health and Action, damage split
Cold:Action and Mind, damage split
Acid: Health and Action, damage split
Electricity: Health and Mind, damage split
Stun: Mind only, loss causes unconsiousness but not death

The Teras Kasi ability to target specific HAM pools would remain. They are a special case.

Health is the killing pool. You can only kill someone incapacitated by Health

Action affects attack speed and movement speed.

Mind determines use of special. All specials would drain the Mind pool. Mind would remain unhealable.

Specials like LegShot or HealthShot would be changed to a simple damage increase and a bleed targeted by the damage type. Multiple pool weapons would not be able to bleed.

In all honesty, the Teras Kasi Artist is the only logical profession in the game. Most of the above would be a mess to incorporate, however, the problem remains. HAM targeting should not be weapon based. I've said it before. If a Rifleman, a Carbineer and a Pistoleer attack the same mob, they are not grouped. They are soloing while standing next to each other.

For some reason, I dont think the devs even read this thread, better yet our requests. Ive only seen 2 responds by TH on all 9 pages total and in my opinion thats pathetic. Yes, yes I know it would be hard to keep up with every single post and every single request but if they responded more often, especially for more frequently asked questions that would be greatly appreciated.

This is part comment and part question. I love my character, she's great, she's master artisan, master tailor, and master dancer. However, there's only so much i can do before things really start getting boring. I dont' want to change my character however, and I like the server that i'm on and my friends. Every other mmorpg I've played you could have several characters on one server. In fact the only real peeve i have about this game is that i can't have more than one character on my favorite server. I'm just wondering if it is possible that in the future we might see at least ONE extra character per server? Maybe it sounds a bit trivial to some, but i just hate the fact that to be able to fight I either have to 1. Change my character. 2. Change my server and my favorite people to play with or 3. Go get another account just so i can play on the same server. This is just one of the only things i dislike about this game and i'm wondering if it will every be changed.

So i'm just wondering if it's possible that someday we'll be able to have at least 2 characters per server? Hell,on DAoC you could have 8 per server.

"Ok now about the personal starships and the way they fight. It should not be like when we on planets and whether we hit or not is decided on a roll and if the number is higher than the other ships defense it hits and if not it misses.

It should be like when you click the mouse button the weapons fire. This is especially important in battle; whether you hit or not should be decided on how well the person flying the starship can aim on their own. No skill should be required to pilot a personal starship.

The controls would basically be like spacebar makes you rise up off the ground, “w” makes it go forward, “s” makes it slow down, “a” and “d” make it sort of avoid fire like the ship tilts. "

Just no... this is an RPG not a space sim. Make a pilot profession. 4 catergories; Combat,Engineering, Technique andsomething else like Qualifications. COmbat decides how accurate you are, Engineering how well you shields work and Tehcnique is all about dogfighting manuevuers that make you harder to hit. Qualifications just gets you qualified to fly certian classes of ship and such.

There is the matter of experience when aboard these shuttles. I suggest maybe a shooting range for marksman and dummies to practice on for melee fighters. There would be a med center and a lounge (cantina) for all the healing needs. There would be storage and sleeping quarters.

This makes it even easier for people to grind out experience. Put in holochess boards, Sabaac whatever. Something to pass the time not just gift you exp points.

What is the point of having a camp? Well that is a difficult question to answer. Camps were intended as a place to gather while out in the field and a place to rest and heal during and after hunting. Currently they are not very useful (except for pet / vehicle calling.)

I have a couple of suggestions to make camps useful :

1) Increase the timer on camps such that they don't disband for about 10 minutes after you leave.

2) Do not disband a camp because of combat.

3) Allow entertainers to heal battle fatigue in camps.

These small changes would allow camps to be used as a hunting base where a group could then go do some fighting then return to the camp over and over. Camps will never be particularly useful, but the could be more useful, and even fun.

MEMBERS CREATING IN-GAME MODELS?

Hi all (DEVS?)

I have a suggestion for developing in-game assetts. It strikes me that there are an incredible amount of enthusiastic people who would love to contribute towards the SWG here. It only takes a quick read of the posts to see that. As we all know, developing assets (in -game models) is a time consuming thing and the Devs already have a huge amount of work on their hands with adding storyline / bugfixes etc..

I'm suggesting an ongoing submission of content - Models created in 3DS ! Whereby any member can post modelsto the forum(furniture mostly, but architecture, scenery and similar static objects) SOE gets free content, and members get a chance to see their own creations in-game.

A poll on the favourites would obviously help, and the models would have to adhere to restrictions to be functional, but hey, it's FREE assetts for SOE.

If it would be a problem using 3DS meshes (GMAX is free) then providing us tools for modelling or conversion surely couldn't be that hard?

I for one am fed up of the same furnishings.. and would love to contribute some more. (Shop counters, anyone ?)

It's not going as far as allowing MODS to the game; as all submissions could only be accepted and integrated by SOE, but look at the popularity of user created content in any other game. (just how many competent characters and skins were ever created for QUAKE? - and my proposal is for small, static meshes.)

Ah well, I've thrown this one into the potential black hole, but at least it's been suggested now.....

First, let me say that I enjoy the game and its relationship when compared to the movies, but i didn't see everyone in the movies wearing composite armor as they fought. This is why i believe that armorsmiths should have the ability to make any of the armor schematics as good as comp armor and should be given a few new designs as well. I also would like to see the addition of cybernetics into the game because it would allow for more customization of character. They should come at a hefty price and have positives and negatives to having them but their addition would generate a lot of excitement. I imagine that their construction could be placed at master artisan or at droid engineer tree. Just wanted to throw this out there and see what others think.
Thanks

Thunderheart,

Why are the new crafters apron schematics with several variations to be made I might add....NOT usable by a wookie. I mean it cant be worn. It doesnt make since that a chefs apron can be worn by a wookie but a crafters apron can not! Is this a bug? If its intended - is there a chance that the wookies can ever get some love at all?

I think some of te crafting concepts are broken.

One... Why can the Master Armorsmith NOT make a good armor repair device but the Master Artisan can? It makes more sense that the Master Armorsmith can repair the armor than one who builds buildings and such. The specialist should do a much better job.

Two... I am sure the Master Artisan canme ame the weapon repair device better than the master Weaponsmith as well.

Is any of this being addressed or being thought of addressing in the future?

I was thinking about a similar idea. The static cities on Starsider are ghost towns, unless you go to Theed or Coronet. So many buildings which are not used, why not rent them out to vendors or even as small apartments? Maybe charge a premium for the rent, similar to cost of living in any big city? Place these areas away from the current flea markets that now form outside the starports, with higher costs associated for proximity to the cantinas, starport or shuttleport. Place big incentives for people to begin to inhabit great places like Keren and Tyrena.

Which is another profession idea - Landlord.

Ihave also had similar frustration in travellingacross the entire planet only to find the vendor has no stock.Very Irritating!
