I'm certain that this has been covered before, more than likely in several different places here on the boards, but here it comes, short and bittersweet:

VehicleModifications - Speed, handling, durability: the three main elements to a vehicle's performance that players could be given the abilities to improve to varying degrees. This can be acheived either through direct crafting via experimentation and additional vehicle modules (a la droids), or by player applied modifications, similar to weapon powerups or skill attachments. The ability to improve baseline vehicles would serve to aid virtually any player who utilized a bike or speeder for transportation, however the main reason for these mods would be, of course... racing.

Vehicle Racing -There are enterprising players whowould like nothing more than to sponsor orparticipate in vehicle races in-game,but unfortunatelythis simply cannot be done competitively with the vehicles currently available. Pods would be great, and I can only assume that they will be implemented somewhere down the line, but for now I would be satisfied with the swoops and speeders we have, especially if the groundwork for such an enterprise could be established. With the addition of the above concept of 'boosting' vehicles to perform better, an entire sub-culture of racers would inevitably grow from this, not only as a social aspect to bring players together - for sport or prize money - but also creating anotherservice tothe economy in the form of performance vehicles and the associated infrastructure of parts and labor to keep them running well. Races could be run on established tracks, such as the Mos Espa circuit seen prominently in Episode I, future courses to be laid out by SWG developers, or player-established routes through a unique system of checkpoint markers similar to the waypoints used currently in-game.

Bets and Wagers - Gambling in Star Wars Galaxies is currently limited to the Lugjack Machines and Jubilee Wheels found in the majority of major cities' Hotels, but there are plenty of areas into which the ability to place bets and wagers can be expanded, vehicle races being a prominent example. Creating a system to receive wagers, track the progress of a given event, and pay out credits to winners is already in place with the gambling machines currently in use, although this system is simple inexecution comparedto what might be necessary for something involving players in competition with each other. I envision a specific profession - most likelya Master Entertainer - would have the ability to place three types of Judges: a Racing Judge, a Dueling Judge, and a Contest Judge. The first two are pretty self-explanatory concerning their application, but the Contest Judge would be useful for managing bets, wagers and votes for competitions other than racing or dueling that might be organized by players (i.e. dancing routines, trivia, etc.). Judges would be placed similarly to both structures AND vendors, meaning that they could be placed either within structures or in the wilds, giving great flexibility to those who wish to hold such events. Judges would only remain in place for a set number of hours, determined by agraduated fee paid to it by its owner/manager. Only one of each type of Judge could be placed during one day on a server (server up to server down the following day), and ALL Judges would be removed during daily server maintenance. Contestants would register with the Judge before the start of the event, and each type of Judge would determine the winning contestant based upon specific parameters:

Racing Judge: Final lap completed or final checkpoint passed in sequence

Dueling Judge: Opponent incapacitated

Contest Judge: Greatest number of votes received

How does betting credits fit into this? Simple. Each Judge would have the ability to service players who wanted to bet on one or more of the registered contestants in a given event. I would recommend that any type of handicap, 'spread', or other factor affectingwagersbe left out, both to keepcontests honest and betting simple for players to understand. A maximum wager should be put in place, in the same manner as the existing gambling machines operate, but additional prize money could be contributed by the player hosting the event or the MEntertainer managing the Judge.

The primary challenge to this type of system is to keep the cheaters and exploiters from running their own rigged events in an effort to generate credits for themselves or others. Maximum wagers during events, a fixed multiplier for payouts, and a set number of Judges during server cycles would keep this type of exploitation down, but you can't plan for everything.

To close, the addition of vehicle performance modification, and a system that players can use to run vehicle racesor other events that would encourage bets and wagers would be most suitable for this game, and would certainly be worth the effort, from the individual player up to guilds and player cities. Thank you for reading.

Vehicle Decals - Following Boushh's line of thinking above, a list of vehicle decals that could be applied by players would be nice, as an extra level of customization for those who always wanted flames coursing down the side of their Swoop bike (instead of out the back of it).

New Vehicles - Of course, everyone wants new vehicles! There are plenty of single-person vehicles listed in various EU sources, but it would be nice to see two of them: Darth Maul's 'hoop speeder', and the STAP (that stand-up model the Trade Federation droids used in Episode I).

CASINO

I noticed one thing when starting a new character and finding myself hard up for cash.
The casino machines in hotels are terrible.

I could easily see myself sitting in there for hours dropping creds in,
but the max betting limits and max pots aren't worth the time.

Can we get these changed to much hire maximum's? Or user definable maximum's
with payout ratio's that scale appropriately?

Armor dyes would be cool as long as they were permanent until you
got tired of the look and decided to repaint it.
That whole repaint your entire suit once a week thing would drive
people mad.

First off hello to everyone out their, Im new to the star wars mmorg and so far I think its a great game that me and my little brother cant stop playing. However after playing for about 2 weeks their are a few things I do not like that I believe should be addressed.

1. Imperial/Rebel Factions almost never wear their armor and this serriously takes away from the star wars feel. Why do they not wear their rebel marine armor and overt imperials wear their storm trooper armor? Simple, That armor is only average at best and it is far to easy to get your hands on composite armor with much better stats then the faction armor you can get. End result is EVERYONE on both sides are wearing composite armor with just difference's in color. That in my opinion serriously takes away from the star wars feel of the game, and can you blame the players? Players will ALWAYS migrate towards whats best and many times put RPG as a secondary note.

Possible Solution:

Imperial/Rebel Armor Smiths can craft light/medium/heavy armor that looks exactly like the Marine Armor or Storm Trooper Armor. This means that for example a Imperial Overt Player may choose light armor that has the same stats as Mabari armor with little Stat costs, Medium storm trooper armor with mild stat loss or of course the ever popular composite armor but a Storm Trooper variation. Of course only overt players can use these armors. This might put the star wars feel back into the game and put players back into their respective armors as was possibly intended bye the original dev team. I would love to see the Imperial Overt Players all running around in Storm Trooper armor fighting the Rebels in their Marine Armor. As it is now its a bland bland bland world were all the major combat players are ALL in compsite...zzzz. P.S. You might want to add a carrot and stick and make these Faction Armors 10% less stat cost then your average run of the mill composite, after all Joining a Faction should have its perks.

2. The second thing I didnt like is that Armor, Pets, Weapons, Swoops ect require very little upkeep. Yes I know that some of these things need to be repaired once and a blue moon but various Items that are used in combat should sometimes get damaged!! If a player is down to say for example 10% health some of their equipment may (As in somewhat rare like a critical hit) get damaged. After Combat is over a Weapon may cause 10% less damage unless a certain part repair part is added. If your Swoop is down to 5% of its Health it may get damaged and run at a slower speed untill a certain part is used to fix it. Armor should sometimes get banged up and offer less protection unless a Armor Patch is used, concider these equipment wounds. I know that all the Artisans would love it because sure anyone can buy a nice composite suit or a uber super gun, but you also have to upkeep your equipment and higher grade equipment require's higher grade repair parts. (Money sink)

Also just a few pet pieves, I saw a Rancor a RANCOR in the bastone (spelling sorry) cantena!! HOLY COW!! Certain pets should not be allowed in ANY city. Come on lets use our common sense here. Giant vicious beast walking down the city as pets? Probots just sitting their with their master in the town square? yah right!!

I also didnt like how I walked into a med center all banged up, I figured I would find a medic and not a doc to let him heal me cause I figured he needs the exp prob pretty bad. As I walked in it was like a free for all as I they all healed my wounds, now dont get me wrong I like getting my wounds healed but I should have a choice on if they are allowed to do this or not. Maybe they have to stand at a Med Station in the Med Center or you give a yes or no consent in the med center.

Thank you for you time.

I was wondering if there were any plans to change mission difficulty based on more aspects of your group. When you have a Master Doctor buffing your group and coming along for heals, and cures, missions get ridiculously easy. I have a BH I'm working up, and a recently Master doctor on another account. We had a group, and were doing Difficulty 60+ Gurk missions, and the only person who ever died was the doctor when the lair blew up and a deathsquad boiled out aiming straight at the doc. Unfortunately he's a wookie and can't wear even Mabari. I would just like to be able to play both my toons and have some challenge.

Mind is the red headed stepchild of Star Wars, cause everyone smacks it around.

buying a second acount with in game money.

there are quite a few people millions upon millions of credits, mostly they are crafters or service providers like doctors. maybe make a new optional money sink. for 10million credits down and 3million creds a month you can have a new full game acount. the in game cash could come from any combination of characters across different servers.

when you make the acount you still have to give cred card info and everything like normal. the difference is you dont have to buy a new game box for a new cd key thats what the 10mill in game creds are for. and your credit card wont get charged untill and unless you cant afford the 3mill price tag anymore.

this would give a worthwile thing for rich people to use thier money for and drive them to keep making awsome products so they can support thier basically free new account.

on the upside for the swg devs, this gets a new acount out there that could eventualy start having to charge real cash when the ingame char runs out of money(also means less money in game to decrease inflation). you could even raise the starting ingame price tag to 20mill or 100mill or whatever you thoguht was fair. there might be people who would just like to buy the cd key then pay the monthly fee with real money.

this really opens up many new possibilities for the future expansion of swg. please consider. sorry about spelling.

TWO NEW VEHICLES IN EVERY PUBLISH

Let's get some variety going and make the cities look bustling with activity.
What you drive is an extension of yourself. The color kits were a good start
but color changes should be permanent until you get tired and change it again.
The color kits also don't have enough variety. You can change the body and the
trim but there's still parts of the vehicle that don't change color.

Introduce the Lars family speeder and the single person speeder Darth Maul had
in episode I. Then follow that up in the following publish with some speeders
from the expanded universe or original Lucasfilm concept art (or SOE originals
for that matter).

CHANGES TO ARMOR

Make all armor essentially a blank slate.
Primary protections are chosen via layers and base effectiveness through experimentation.
If someone wants Ubese that has awesome heat protection instead of kinetic they should be
able to have it.
This gives players the ability to look the way they want and not at the expense of
the protection they actually wanted.

Those are my two ideas - hope they get heard and/or commented on.

Cheers,

Oh, one other idea...

For collected Jedi bounties, how about a trophy?

You could loot an unuseable lightsaber with the Jedi's name on it.

Thank you Billou21:

"- create "Galaxy Archive Terminals" where any player can review ALL the in-game schematics

classified by profession."

I might actually be convinced to turn my master crafting titles back on now. I hate it when people ask me for something that requires some silly components and I have to turn the potential customer away because I don't haveany of "x resource" or any of "x resource with decent x stat."

I am a very casual player (I log a couple hours a few nights a week) so I'm not always on top of resource shifts. I've been a master weaponsmith for some time but I have yet to find Gallinorian Rainbow Crystalline Gemstones! Why is this a problem? Only because half (if not more) of the combat class players out there are rifleman and they love thier T21s. I happen to need that particular resource to make that particular weapon. And whose to say that once I find those precious gems they will have the right stats I need anyhow (OQ)?

So what makes this idea really great? Often times these customers are willing to wait and, in fact, assist me in getting what I need (assuming it lowers the price a little. Hehe.) So I tell them what they need. Now assuming they've never seriously crafted before it takes a lot of time out of both our (fake)lives for me to explain all the ins and outs of what is needed because I can't show them the draft schematic. This is especially important for someone pleading for low encumbrance armor.

And this is a good idea for yet another reason! Supposing you are working your way up an advanced crafting class and you want to be able to makea certain item once you get the schematic... well... you start gathering the resources needed now before any surprises show up.

Sure, I could send everyone to SWGCraft.com but it's interface is clunky and it's often times difficult to speak to my customers while they are on that site.

As for Wookiee armor... much to my dismay... you've got it.

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Developers&message.id=26296

I suppose sinceWookiees are running around free, in great numbers, and in the Imperial army, they might as well have armor too. Hehe.

There's a definite line between stereotypes and facts... but the developers of the game took that line, bent it up, and hung their Star Wars knowledge from it. It wriggled for a while buteventually it died. And thus the SWG Wookiee race was born.

Ok enough ranting. I forgive the Wookiees. I've got more to say but... I'm... about to... pass out due to... sleep... deprivation... ZZZZZZZ...
